Since the start of this year, I didn't make a New Years resolution but I did decide to cut out buying bread for the house. I was always getting a fresh loaf from the bakery and trying to make sure it got finished before going stale. Which means eating a lot of bread. Lots of sandwiches. Grilled cheese sandwiches!!! Mmmmmmmm When March 31st hit, and JM was celebrating their day of giving, I wanted bread and I wanted it for a great cause. I walked in at 11 and it smelled so amazing. Fresh baked bread. I couldn't wait!! Regular #5 on white, and man was it delicious. Usually I get a mini, but this was for charity, so I got the regular, ate the whole thing too, a bag of chips and a bottle of water. This is definitely my favorite and most visited Jersey Mike's. When I'm hungry, nothing satisfies better than a giant #99 (56 and 43) Big Kahuna and Chipotle Cheese steak. This is a big sandwich and is loaded with extra white American cheese, grilled onions and jalapenos, peppers and the essential chipolte mayo. If you're looking for a low carb option, all sandwiches can be prepared in a tub. My go to here is a #8 - Club sub in a tub. Typically I'll order extra meat and load it with nearly every topping available. Definitely get it Mike's way and add the relish. Go on Monday for the club special and get chips and a drink included at a discount. The service is always excellent. Expect to be greeted as soon as you walk in and witness the crew jump into action as soon as your order leaves your mouth. This location on Rivers has a very low turnover rate and there a several people here that have been making my lunch for years. This is my go to location because of work. I typically eat out once a week for lunch. I always go to Jersey Mike's! Everyone that works there is always smiling and friendly. Take advantage of the points club they have. You get free food, coupons, and a free sub and drink for your birthday! It is so worth it. Always a fan of Jersey Mike's! I like this particular location because of the staff! They're always so great. Unlike some other locations in the area, their staff isn't constantly changing. They remember you, what you order (if you order the same thing each time!) and make you feel so incredibly welcome. The restaurant is always clean, the bathrooms are tidy and it doesn't feel too crowded (and there are a lot of tables!). Def recommend this JM location, for sure :) read more

This was my first time eating at a Jersey Mike's. The employees were polite, friendly and fast. The food was good, this is probably a new favorite sub place. The biggest issue was cleanliness and the trash was extremely full and we could barely get our trash in the trash cans. The tables were dirty also we got lucky and found the one clean table. I understand that they were busy but the tables and trash are two of the biggest things that need to be taken care of, so the customers that want to sit down and eat are able to do so and then dispose of their trash. I love Jersey Mike's subs. They're always delicious. So, when I had to book lunch for a group of 15 people for 2 days of work meetings, I immediately thought of them. I've booked catering through them before and they are always accommodating to my needs & requests. My first snag was I was unable to place the delivery online. I thought it was odd since I was able to order catering orders online before but no problemo, I just gave them a call. I was put in touch with Dan, who I assume is a Manager. He was great, telling me exactly what I needed to do in order to place the order online for delivery. I made this call on a Monday, telling him that I would need 15 box lunches on Wednesday & Thursday, the same exact order for both days. Dan informed me that I would either need an 11:30am delivery or a time after 2pm due to their lunch rush. I've worked in F&B before, so I totally get the need to adjust times due to the lunch rush. So, no issues on my end so far. I went online to place the order but the way their website is set up, you can only place a same day or a next day order. No worries, I made a note to log on the next morning (Tuesday) so I could place the order for Wednesday. I wanted to give them as much time as possible. The next morning rolls around and I place the order online, following Dan's instructions and all is well with the world. About 2 hours after I place the order, Dan calls me. I had indicated that I wanted the condiments on the side, and he was calling to ask if that also meant the oil & vinegar. I said, "yes put those on the side too since I'm not sure if everyone likes oil & vinegar on their subs". I assumed he was just covering all his bases to make sure that he had the order correct on his end so I didn't think much of the timing of the call at the time. About an hour later, I did question myself "I hope he isn't making the order today for delivery because I don't need these lunches until tomorrow" but I just shrugged it off. Looking back, I should have called him to confirm but my order very clearly stated Wednesday at 11:30am. Well wouldn't you know, 11:30 rolls around on Tuesday and here comes Dan with the delivery. I walked up front and said, "hey, those lunches are for tomorrow, not today". He adamantly shook his head "no" and I said, "yes, I specifically selected Wednesday. I need lunch deliveries for Wednesday & Thursday" for meetings. He argued back "when you called you said Tuesday & Wednesday". I said, "no, I said Wednesday & Thursday when I called and when I placed the order this morning, I selected Wednesday at 11:30". Again, he was adamant "all my paperwork says today". He had a receipt in his hand but wouldn't show it to me and just handed me the box of cold drinks he had in his hand telling me "well you can take these today". I told him that I almost called to confirm that he had the correct day but didn't since my online order was very clear on the date & time. I then started to say "if you think the subs will be ok..." and Dan rudely cut me off before I could even get the rest of the sentence out shaking his head and said "nope they won't be" and then turned around and walked out. He honestly could have salvaged this by simply calling me later and apologizing for how he handled THEIR error, but he didn't. He could have delivered the order the next day himself so that he could personally apologize for being so rude, but he sent someone else to make the delivery. It was fine as the guy he sent was great. But I just found it very hard to fathom why he was just so sure he was right and even when he realized he wasn't, he couldn't try to make it right by offering a simple apology. So instead of placing a second order with them for my Thursday lunch, I contacted Chic-Fil-A and used them instead. I wont say that I will never eat at Jersey Mike's again because I am sure I will, but I will definitely think twice about using them for catering. read more

I ordered a club sub on a "mini". The bread was so hard, it made the sandwich difficult to chew. I guess they don't sell too many "minis" because that bread was definitely stale. Other than the stale bread, the sandwich itself tasted pretty good. The price was a little steep as well. I like this place due to the employee's. great group of kids/young adults, chat about sports and daily things. As for the food, great quality buy if you watch them cut the meat and cheese you will notice depending who's cutting it your getting shorted 1-2 slices of cheese and as much if not more meat. lol I've watched the manager walk up behind the kids and tell them to take pieces of meat or cheese off the sandwich or wrap when they think your not looking. when you ask for pickles and they put 6 on a giant sub it makes me laugh. Ask for more and they put 2 more pickle slices on. It's disappointing to me due to being a former G.M. & R.M.. you may save .50 - .75 cents in product but you end up losing regular customers who realize what's happening, especially if other Jersey Mikes makes the sandwiches the way they're supposed to be made. read more

Jersey Mike's makes pretty decent subs, and it's nice to have a proper sub that's made the way they're made in New Jersey. Well, the good part of New Jersey, not the crappy southern part, where they're labeled 'hoagies'. Seriously. What the hell is a hoagie? Anyway, they're predictable, and you can get the same thing everywhere. They'll also make you a 'Sub in a Tub,' which is the meat, cheese, and other various accoutrements in a plastic tub with no bread, if you're on a diet. Jersey Mikes has been my go to spot for a cold sub since I started working in North Charleston. This location has some of the friendlier staff that have always treated me well. Try the roast beef and provolone. The Roast Beef is created in house and easily my favorite sub on the menu. read more

There were a few people ahead of me but I was eating within 7 minutes of walking in the door. The sandwich was very good but the steak was a bit fatty, not something I'd expect on a philly. When I first walked into this resturant I noticed that it was very clean with lots of seating available to choose from and a variety of subs to choose from. I liked that they have the option to order online ahead of time to avoid a wait. I decided to order the chicken parmesan sub on rosemary bread with provolone cheese, parmesan and tomato sauce with a cup of ice water. As suspected the sub was really delicious, it was alittle pricier than the average sub at subway but it was worth it considering other places don't have as much variety of flavorful subs. I was really impressed with the freshness and softness of the bread along with the portion size. It filled me up and I couldn't eat the entire sub in one sitting like other subs which is good I save the rest for later. I was very impressed with my experience at this Jersey Mike's today. As I was looking at the menu, the sandwich creator talked me through it to help find something I would like. Sometimes this can come off as pushy, but in this case I appreciated it, and it felt a bit like what good coaching does. He then did a great job putting together my Philly cheesesteak. I've had the real deal at Pat's in Philadelphia, and his technique today was just like theirs. When you order the cheesesteak at Jersey Mike's, they are not pulling out some pre-cooked beef from a tub, they are cooking and shredding your beef and toppings on the flat top to order. Jersey Mikes on River Ave.... Where to begin. The staff first of all are the happiest folks you will ever see in a fast food type joint. They are friendly helpful and fast. The food....great subs hot or cold. The #13 Italian sub is the best cold sub in the world in my opinion. Granted I am not a world traveler for subs but this one is piled high with real cold cuts that are of good quality it seems to me. The cheese is real. The #56 The big kahuna philly steak sub is the best hot sub in my opinion. Real chunks of vegetables with real beef made before your eyes . It is really a good sandwich and the sizes are great ! The philly is even better as a leftover the next day. I promise you it is worth getting a whole sub and saving half for the next day as a cold roast beef sub. Fantastic. They know my husband and our order and like I said they ALL are just nice. If they hate there jobs you will never know. No crappy attitudes here in the Rivers Ave Jersey Mikes.
