Upon arriving home, we found that there were no peppers on the sub, and the sub roll was stale (although the eggplant tasted good). The burger was overcooked, extremely well done, and therefore tasteless, served on a burned bun. The sweet potato fries were glommed together and cold, also totally tasteless, as if they'd just been defrosted from a package of frozen fries. On reading other reviews it appears that we are not the only ones to complain about the food quality, as well as missing items on to-go orders. After our first visit we had hoped to make this a regular place to eat, but after today's experience we don't want to risk it.

One thing I love is that they scoop out some of the bread from inside the sub. This cuts down on carbs, holds the insides together well, and eliminates the problem of sub bread being too thick. The smart phone app lets you pre-order and you can tweek your option with about 20 options or just take the default sandwich. I add cheese and its easy to do on the app, Fast and easy. I've bought scores of the original Jimmy Turkey subs, and each one was made in about 30 seconds. They aren't kidding when they claim to be freakishly fast--they ARE fast. Lately, I've been getting the Mini Jimmy, taking it home, and making my own salad to supplement my dinner. Delicious. It's a small sub, just what I want sometimes. My recent addiction is the turkey sandwich on sliced wheat bread instead of sub bread. Their bread is delicious, and this makes for a great sandwich. I love this place. I placed an online order for two sandwiches, chips, and a cookie at the New Hartford Jimmy John's…read more I received emails confirming the order was received and that my credit card was debited. When I arrived at the store to pick up my order, I provided my name. I was handed a bag, which was quickly snatched back with the explanation that it wasn't my order. I was then told that I hadn't placed the order. I showed my confirmation email. I was then told that I hadn't paid for the order. Again, I showed confirmation of my payment. In every case, I was accused of being the source of the problem. Jimmy John's either gave my order to another customer or lost it altogether. When I pointed this out to the manager on duty, Robert Blackshear, he cancelled my order, claiming I was disrespectful and rude. I never raised my voice, used profanity, or made threats. Apparently, asking questions he could not answer or noting Jimmy John's incompetence is rude in Mr. Blackshear's opinion. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. I will not reward Jimmy John's with another penny. I suggest others avoid the New Hartford Jimmy John's.

I get a small roast beef for lunch and have trouble finishing it, a medium is bigger than most larges and I can't even imagine what a large looks like. The one quirk I can say is they do tend to run out of certain meats some days but I take that as a testament to how busy they are. On days where they are out of roast beef I roll with turkey with no regrets, everything these guys make tastes great. The help is always very friendly, albeit very casual, be prepared to have your balls busted just a bit, but that is exactly what I'm looking for at a place like Mello's, simple delicious food with a bit of personality. I've had lunch from this place countless times, at least 20, and have never been disappointed in the least. Despite my standing under the PLACE ORDER HERE sign for greater than 6 minutes no one ever acknowledged my presence. I suppose one of the workers felt me staring a hole in his back so he turned around and our eyes met. I gestured to the cash register and the sign with a questioning expression. His sassy response was "Just a minute ma'am. There's only one person that works the register" Questionable food handling - as I waited for my order I watched EVERY SINGLE WORKER touch the order screen then handle the food with their bare hands. I even witnessed an incident where Mr. Only Cashier picked up a packed order bag, opened it, took out 2 orders of fries covered them with his whole bare hand and transferred them to a different order bag. He then sealed the 1st order back up, put on the shelf where it was, and got back to it. Two important takeaways: there is a sign posted about how serious they take hand washing Mr. Only Cashier did get some hand foam on a dispenser before he took my order. But he didn't get any on the return trip to the kitchen. 10/10 would not recommend!

I never got to try the Buffalo but the other two flavors were good. However, they were smothered in sticky sauce which got cloying after awhile and completely rendered your fingers disgusting. A roll of paper towels at the counter helped, though I had to go back after every couple of wings for more. The Hawaiian had a strong ginger flavor which was different and enjoyable. However, in sum I think they need to use less sauce in the future. Drinks were via the all-in-one soda machine that seems to have a million flavors on tap. It is right by the door and the area was crowded, so getting to the machine wasn't easy. It was fun to go out for wings, though it wasn't cheap. I rarely eat wings anymore so I can't say if the prices were fair or not, but they were good wings.
