Stopped in for a nightcap while on business nd found out their kitchen was open until midnight (came in around 9). Typical Irish pub/sports type bar (my favorite), simple decor, some regulars at the bar, a couple families sitting at tables. I decided on the Irish pierogies. They were good, but I thought there would be more corned beef in them. They came with onions and Irish sausage which was a nice touch. Great selection of whiskeys and bourbons! I already did a review from last nights meal. I ordered the Shepherd's pie. I didn't want to judge to fast by looks, but it looked like it fell on the floor, then they picked it up and tossed it into the tin. The food had zero taste, it also tasted like it came out of a can and the mashed potatoes had no flavor. I was only able to take two bites and spit it out. I posted a review last night with a picture, but now it's missing. It's okay I will be posting the picture of it later. I am unable to post it now. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening. The bar was packed for Trivia night. At first we were seated in a booth in the back. Our server dropped off menus and the beer list, then didn't come back. After about 20 minutes we went to sit outside on the patio. It took about 15 minutes for her to come out and take our drink and food order. We waited another 30 minutes and then she came out and told us they were out of one of the dinners we ordered. Needless to say, the service was not great. As for the food itself, it also was not great. The corned beef was okay, but the potatoes had a funky taste and the cabbage and carrots were mushy. We had an early dinner on a Wednesday. The place smelled like food upon entering, which is a good sign. Place was clean and music was quiet and pleasant. Decor was dark wood. The waitress was very professional. Menus a bit dirty. Mac and Cheese had a vinegary flavor. BBQ pork sliders were good and fries were crispy. Pickles good. This place has totally gone down hill. I used to go here regularly considering it's literally 2 minutes down the road from my place and the food is consistently good. I love their chicken wings, Reuben sandwiches, fried pickles, and sweet potato fries!!! And their burgers are bangin'!!! They also have karaoke on Tuesday's!!! You know what is absolutely lacking here? THE SERVICE! The past three times I've been here to eat with my friends we pretty much served ourselves. On all three occasions we weren't even offered a menu! And what's sad is it wasn't even busy. Don't get me wrong- there are some really good and friendly bartenders here, especially the short blonde woman. But the service is just so inconsistent it's not worth it to go...especially because there are so many great bars so close by, they have some competition and they really need to get it together. For wings anytime and fish on Friday, this is where you want to get em. A local bar that most of Utica knows about. If you are a mushroom fan my co-worker claims the mushroom stew is to die. The staff has a great sense of humor and are more than willing to trade jabs (all in fun). As you would expect from a little bar on a busy corner, it is not really a place for small children or a romantic date but if you want great wings, get them with the everything sauce, and ice cold beer at a reasonable price. When I think of small neighborhood sports bar, this is the place. A wonderful beer selection on draft, including some locals as well as some hard to find beers on draft. My suggestion is the wings coated in there everything sauce, just be sure to grab a handful of napkins before you dive in. read more

If I could give it a zero I would, but since the lowest rating we can give them is a 1, so they get only that ..... we went there yesterday passing through and the ratings showed it was good. Not so much if not at all. Ordered coffee, they had no sugar ... waitress couldn't even be bothered to check other tables and somehow they had none at the bar and none in the kitchen (seriously?). Ordered appetizers, soup and dinner ..... soup never showed up and they brought the appetizers and main course all at once and gave us attitude when we said "we ordered those appetizers, could you hold onto the main course so it's not cold?". The one rolled her eyes and said "why didn't you say you wanted them separately" and we said ... we ordered appetizers, soup and a main course, why would you even bring them at once ... oh and you forgot the soups, are you going to bring them as dessert? They are an 'Irish' bar ... but we got sick from it ... I am from Ireland and was appalled by what they considered 'quality Irish food' ... the cabbage from the corned beef and cabbage was sour and brown ... not green and flavored. The fried mushrooms were so greasy my g/f was sick before we even left the building. They may have got great reviews for their wings, but they couldn't also get a basic burger right either. Restrooms were disgusting, they had the soap dispenser ducktaped to the wall in the mens room, the soap bag, not even the shell, it was nowhere to be found, smelled like old urine in there too like they never cleaned. Women's room had one 'working' stall, but the other was disgusting also. Outwardly this place looks nice, but looks are only skin deep .... and it's sour too! I am probably overly enthusiastic about this place as I just found it this year after visiting Utica for the last seven years, but HOLY COW they have THE BEST WINGS (even better than Altieri's, yes, it's true). Order the Everything sauce. It is, both metaphorically and literally, EVERYTHING, as described. Fries are tasty, and they're liberal with the cheese sauce (which, yes, is like, nacho cheese, but WHATEVER), I'm here for junk food and beer, and they do both well. We always receive great service when we go there - sometimes you have to go order your food at the bar, which is like, so not a big deal. Usually once they drop the food they do a drink check, and check back afterward, so we're cool with it. It's divey inside, but they always have the games on, and though it's sort of a dark hole, every table we've ever had has been perfectly clean. WE WILL RETURN! read more

Sitting at the bar in front of staff lucky to get service because the bar staff is too busy socializing with their friends. Friday evening long after the dinner crowd around 8p, we waited over an hour for our fish. Sad, this was our second attempt in a month for them to regain our patronage the same thing happened the first time. This was not late at night, nor was it during a busy time. An employee threw a man down the front steps where he smashed his head on the pavement and suffered a painful shoulder injury. Prior to this there was no confrontation other then the said group sitting at an empty table that apparently "belonged to the busboy" I'm sorry I thought the tables were for paying customers. Picked up our order, got home and what we got for loaded nachos was the end of the bag crumbs of nachos and cheese, no loaded ingredients. I called and they offered to replace - made a second trip to pick up the correct order. When I asked about a refund to compensate for our trouble, I was told he'd have to check with the manager. Fine. Apparently, the manager has no authority for service recovery. They wanted me to give them my contact information because the owner would have to get back to me. 1. That would require ANOTHER trip to get my refund, 2. I'm from out of town heading home tonight. I asked about a free food item as compensation, but that too has to go through the owner.
