Inside are plenty of tables and seating, their giant menu behind the counter, drink coolers with a vast selection of soft drinks, juices, and water. The staff are in uniform, looking professional and they are eager to serve. Very friendly and helpful and where I typically would've ordered something like an Italian sub or meatball sub as a good baseline to compare sandwich shops and delis, I had taken a peek at their Yelp review pictures, and I ordered their Cuban sandwich. Lil Havana. The best Cuban I've ever had was in a shop in Florida many years ago and I had made a bigger and sloppier version of it myself at home (after many attempts to perfect it) so I've been looking for a Cuban sandwich to knock my socks off and based on the reviews here on Yelp, Lil Papi's was going to be the place to try it. Ohhhh my Lawert!!!! Get it! Just get it! It's the #1 Cuban Sandwich and it's the #1 sandwich OF ALL TIME in my humble opinion. Lil Papi...I'm in loooooove!

As a native New Yorker who adores Italian cuisine, this establishment is one of those special finds…read morefor a newbie to NC. The food here is almost better than most of the Italian spots I'm accustomed to in Brooklyn. I ordered the chicken parm hero and meatball parm hero. Both were excellent! The sauce was freshly made with simple ingredients that were clearly high quality. The bread was crispy and warm authentically Italian (covered in sesame seeds the way I love) Best of all they have a small "Mercato" with carefully selected items imported from Italy. I was surprised and excited to find some of my favorite Italian cookies, breadsticks and chocolates. They even carry Italian beverages & wine. But best of all they have several prepared frozen meals like Lasagna, eggplant Parmesan and other favorites. They also had sauces and cheeses and pasta. The pastry case was filed with Italian staples like cannolis. If you're looking for a purveyor of authentic Italian items in Concord, this is definitely the spot! They have a nice outdoor dining area and a small area inside as well.

It's a smaller spot with the ordering counter and kitchen in the back and maybe seating for 26 or so. The folks behind the counter were friendly and the order process was simple. I got their sandwich special, the Buffalo Soldier. It was chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and ranch on ciabatta. I made it a combo with chips and a soda. With tip I think the total was around $17. That was a touch more expensive than I was expecting especially with just a bag of chips on the side. The sandwich was good. Between the blue cheese and the ranch it was really creamy and most of the toppings slide off with the second bite. I don't mind a mess though! The ciabatta bread was the perfect compliment for the sandwich. It was a cute spot and I especially liked the creative sandwich names. I'd go back and try the chicken ceasar wrap next time.

I left still not liking the food and most of my friends didn't either. My husband said the Philly cheesesteak was delicious. But he is the only one who enjoyed his meal lol. The service was extremely slow. The second day our waitress took our drink order, disappeared for 20 minutes and then came back to ask for our food order and we had asked for our drinks and gave her our orders and then she came back like 15 minutes later and said she forgot what we all ordered. There was four of us. About 45 minutes later when three out of four of us got our food I had to ask the waitress where my husbands food was and one said they forgot to put it on the ticket and the other said the kitchen forgot it. (The chef did come and apologize) The food takes almost an hour to get. No matter what you order. It took awhile to get any condiments. Youll have to ask for stuff multiple times. The staff was friendly though. Some old lady fussed at us on the third day because apparently she left her phone there but none of us heard it ringing we had also just gotten there a couple minutes prior ( super weird) i think she was a customer. The tater tots and Cole slaw are really good though.

Our server did a pretty mediocre job, if I'm being real - she took our orders and delivered the food but pretty much didn't check on us for the entire meal, and I ended up having to take my trash to the front counter to get rid of it, since no one was bussing the table. I got the Chicken Power Pita and I was underwhelmed with it. The pita was soggy and cold, and everything inside felt mushy and a bit flavorless. My wife's roast beef sandwich was also extremely lacking, although she did like the bread. Weirdly, she wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion on it, and the server told us that they didn't offer onion. Why does a deli not have sliced onion for its sandwiches? On the positive side, my father-in-law really liked his chili. Because we got there so early, we found parking on the street, but I'm not sure how easy it'd be to find parking if you came during normal lunch hours. Inside the restaurant, it had standard deli vibes. I would definitely not come back here if I was stopping in Statesville for lunch.
