Such a great little lunch or dinner restaurant! Great cuts of meat, sandwiches are always fresh and tasty. Employees are quick and helpful. So happy to have this in my hometown! read more

The Meating place has a lot to offer. Not only do they have good sandwiches but they have a solid butcher market. They have about 10 tables for indoor dining a couple outside if it's nice and someone that opened the door for me called me neighbor. Reminded me of my rural hometown in Illinois. Anyway my three things: 1) Counter says their Ruben and Mestball sun are the most popular. We had one of each and they were solid sandwiches $8-9 for the 8" sub. 2) Orders are made with high quality meat and sandwiches were well stuffed. Add some macaroni salad, potato salad or some chips to round things off. 3) Most interested to come back for the butcher offerings: Ahi Tuna, Fresh Salmon, 1" think Ribeye cuts, sausages, etc The shop even has cheese curds in the fridge. Gotta grab some of those to fry up next time I'm there. read more

Place is awesome. Super clean. Delicious food. Well ran. I always try and come to support local here in Lincolnton. Cute, quaint and family owned and operated. The butcher here is amazing. He can do anything. They have the best meat that's hard to beat! (See what I did there?) Ha. Seriously though, this place is wonderful. Go buy for a sandwich for lunch and leave with a steak and go home and grill it for dinner. read more

It's a crossover. Predominately a Butcher Shop/Deli that now offers great choices of meet but permits you to also construct your own deli Deli Sandwiches from the provisions offered. You have your choice of something like 10 -15 choices of meat, a number of cheeses, numerous choices of bread and a vast array of condiments. Did not go for any of the above, They have a number of stock sandwiches they offer, and I went with one of my favorites, The Rueben. Love a good Rueben and this one met all expectations. I like a nice crisp Sauerkraut and this one was perfect. Spicy Mustard and it was right there and not overloaded. Very convenient location just off of Court Square in DT Lincolnton nest to the Tax Office. That was the reason we were there in the first place to pay our annual property taxes. That said, we will not wait till next Tax Season to visit again. If you love a good NY or NJ Rueben, you definitely need to give this place a tryl read more

The meat counter here is pricey but worth it! I've never bought a bad steak from here. The sandwiches are always stacked high! Try the chicken salad! read more

Not a butcher shop. Asked if they sold organs. "Gentleman" behind counter said "HEFTY NO". The thought of true butcher shop, uses the entirety of the animal. It's more or less an upgraded version of an off brand boars head meat shop. read more

Super Fresh!!! Cozy downtown restaurant/ butcher/ deli. Option to sit inside or outside. Lots of options to purchase local meats and other deli items. Has weekly specials on meats and soups. Staff was friendly with some good southern hospitality. We got sandwiches on a ciabatta and the bread was awesome and it was a huge. We loved that everything was so fresh and they sliced and made to order. read more

I am not one to give a bad review, the other online photos of their signature Reuben look delicious... but that is not what I got. I was so excited to try this place and so many things about it are great BUT the person that made my Reuben today did not understand the basics of "the stack". IMO Cheese goes next to the bread to keep the bread from getting soggy and the sauerkraut should be drained! I got a hot wet mess of a sandwich that had been flattened in the panini machine until the bread was tortilla thin. so this is why it sucked: the 1000 island dressing on both sides, than sauerkraut then meat with cheese in the middle of the slices of meat. Who does this? read more

These folks dropped our steak on the floor and was going to wash it off and still sell it to us, advising that was permissible by law. First off you are not supposed to wash steaks with water. We did not buy the steak but im sure someone else was sold this steak. Will not be back to this place! read more

Overrated, over priced on there meat, bought a brisket that was overpriced and never went back again.

Love this local place. Employees recognize us now and are so kind. Food is great also. Would highly recommend.

You must try the awesome hamburger meat. Makes the most awesome hamburgers. I've also purchased and prepared their chuck roast. Freaking awesome. read more

Great meats and wonderful sandwiches. Nice an clean inside. Very friendly people. You want go wrong if get your meats from them.

Used the app while seated at the table, it did take a little while as they were busy....but it wasn't until we asked the server that our order appeared at our table. Sandwiches were perfect, as we ordered them. Place was busy while we were there, deli and meals. Hint - there are more tables to sit at in the back if the few tables in front are full. Would definitely visit again read more

Nice atmosphere. Full service butcher. All the meats looked really good. We had lunch. I had a Ruben sandwich. It was good but not Ben's Deli style with a sour pickle as I was hoping for. My hubs had the meatball sub and said the meatballs were good. Overall it was a good experience and we'd go back. read more

A great deli and awesome selection of sandwiches that always set the standard we compare other places food to. Great breads, fresh veggies and top shelf meat that always tastes fresh with such "clean" flavors only really good ingredients deliver. read more

1) Great people - friendly, helpful, willingly provide fantastic advice. Just ask. 2) Great product - we've tried many items. Their beef, pork, seafood, deli meats/cheeses - all of it is top notch. Don't see what you want, just ask. 3) Great fun - We enjoy going here to grab favorites and catch new offerings. Tip - the Buckeyes are amazing. I probably shouldn't mention that since I'd like there to be some left when I need to restock! :) 4) Great business - yes, they are busy which can translate to slower at times, but isn't that great?! I love when businesses I love are busy. It means they'll still be here in a few months/years. Go when you have time to spare if they're busy and enjoy looking around while your order is being prepared. Or call ahead so it'll be ready when you arrive. Or grab a pint of Tony's ice-cream and a spoon and snack a little while your order's being prepared. We recently got deli trays here - if you haven't tried their deli items, you should. We were at a local grocery last week and bought small quantities of the "same" items (highly recognized name brand) on the spur of the moment (since TMPs were so tasty) to tide us over until we could get back to TMP. Mistake. Not a single one of those items compared favorably to TMP offerings - they smelled old, tasted old, and we threw them out. Ask for Rico. He will hook you up with scrumptious deli items. I can't foresee a situation that would cause you to regret going to The Meating Place. It's a gem. I don't work for them and haven't been paid for this review. I'm just a local who enjoys "fantastic". read more
