You really can't find 86 cent hot dogs very often these days, and very good hot dogs at that prices are rarer still. This tiny, throw back joint offers both, in the most unpretentious of settings imaginable. Unpretentious to the extent that there is no air conditioning, and there is a screened door at the rear of the restaurant for breeze. Unpretentious to the extent that whether you choose to eat in or take out, you will receive your order in either a brown paper bag or the ubiquitous styrofoam container. Unpretentious to the extent that the warning about consuming raw or undercooked eggs is written by hand on a chalkboard. The menu is tight - a few breakfast sandwiches and plates, and the lunch one is much the same, with a daily special plate or two - and everything on each menu is incredibly inexpensive.. But we came here for the hot dogs, and it was the hot dogs we ordered - one all the way, one without slaw - total bill including tax, $1.84. These are very, very good hot dogs - a respectable wiener, a great gooey bun, and meaty chili, a little on the dry side & and in need of a touch of salt, but full of flavor, the onion are fresh, and the slaw is just right for a hot dog. Some places charge 3 times what these folks do, and still don't get it close. Great cheap eats, and that's often where you find excellent Southern Chili dogs. We did.

    Front door! Great things await.

Livermush. Seriously, they have a dish named Livermush. Two words I've never experienced as one word in relation to food. Apparently similar to Haggis (Dave tried this one) it certainly will provide entertainment. Awesome breakfast and with the Big Boy plate having everything for $4 it's tough to go wrong. Bring cash...an appetite...and a desire for Livermush.

It was okay. Not much open on a Sunday. Gets the job done. Would I go out of my way to come back? Probably not.

Everything. You haven't had a hot dog if you haven't eaten at City Lunch. It's an institute in Lincolnton. Miss it.

Been the best place in town to get hotdogs, since I was a kid. There's nothing like a city lunch, hotdog.

Really appreciate this restaurant and the work they have done for the community. Building is old and a little scary but love the food.

I always get a hotdog all the way and a cheeseburger that is only 10 cents more expensive than a hamburger.

I normally wait for a period of time to let them work the kinks out of a new start up. I was in Lincolnton today for lunch and figured I'd go ahead and give them a try. When I worked full time in Statesville, the Burger King on East Broad Street was one of my more frequent stops for lunch. Biggest problem here was a very slow drive through. My order was normally a Double Whopper with Cheese, Fries and a large Unsweetened Tea. Cutting back on calories I have however eliminate the Fries from the order. Today's order was the same Double Whopped with Cheese and large Unsweetened Tea. They were not as crowded as the Burger King in Statesville so I got my order in a more realistic time. The Burger was outstanding. All of the ingredients were fresh, the meat was properly cooked and still moist and not dry. All in all, a very good dining experience and I will be back.

I ordered medium fries and they were cold and salty... they didn't even try to fill them up. I'm not sure what kind of franchise you're running but it's terrible, from the customer service experience down to the food. The workers act very entitled to talk to you however they want, you're here to provide excellent service. Clearly lacking in every department.

I got one dog with thick cut bacon, mozzarella cheese, and crumbled chicharon. The other dog had cheddar, flamin hot cheetos, and a mouth watering chili. I love the "DIY" concept of this truck, where you can create whatever hot dog you want, with the super unique list of toppings. I cannot wait to go back, and try some different combinations :) The floats also looked like they were straight out of the Food Network. I got the orange creamsicle, and the way they garnished it with bright candy took me back to childhood euphoria haha. The mix of Orange with Vanilla was Devine! They told me they will be at breweries, dog parks, and even concerts. Was so happy to discover this hidden gem, will follow them wherever they pop up next.
