Really? This is "sliced" cheese from Ingles deli. SMH!
James S.

We have been shopping Ingles sales more frequently as of late because they have had items on sale that we use on a regular basis cheaper than Walmart or Aldi. We only drive over there for the sales as their regular prices including their store brand Laura Lynn are higher otherwise. You also get fuel points on purchases, but if their gas is higher than surrounding stations and the fuel points only bring it down to what stations around them are selling gas for then there is no savings there. On our last visit I went to the deli to get some sliced lunch meat and cheese. When I walked up I was the only customer but the guy behind the counter, who wasn't very friendly said he would have to take my order and fill it later and I would have to come back for it. Ok, whatever. When we got home the cheese was one big fused together glob with no shingling or paper between the slices and it was impossible to pull off a single slice of cheese without it tearing-see photo, so I don't know if I will use the deli here again. Like I said some of the sales prices make it worth a drive to Lincolnton to shop here, otherwise the prices are too high to include Ingles in our stores we normally shop at for groceries.

This store has a huge selection of foods, from conventional to organic. From American to Indian to British! I would like to see a better selection of actual spices used in the ethnic cooking, instead of just prepackaged jar items, but even those are a nice quality, when you read the ingredients. This store puts every Hickory, NC, grocery store to shame, really. In time, maybe enough people will vote with their feet, and the stores in Hickory will wake up.

Several other items were in places I didn't expect. They had a great selection of everything I was looking for. I was especially impressed by the meat department. We were at the lake and our kitchen isn't conveniently stocked like our kitchen at home. They had pre-made kabobs that were already marinated. They had different choices of marinate flavors. They had beef or chicken. It really made grilling easier. The store was well stocked and clean. The employees were motivated and cared about customer service. This is my new go-to store at the lake!

Best departments: meat, fish (and good sushi and bowls) and bakery. Worst department: produce. Nice workers but vegetables and fruit are often out dated or go bad quickly. Not too many good wines and not especially competitive pricing. Beer has better selection and pricing. Good cheese department, nice olive bar but no salad bar. Best part is that it is always easy to find someone to help you find any given product.

On our way to an event in Winston, we missed lunch and were both getting a bit hangry, so needing a…read morequick stop but not wanting fast food we decided to pop into Publix for a one of their subs! If you've never been or heard about their subs, they're definitely worth checking out. Made fresh, in front of you using premium ingredients, and made just how you want it, they give sub shops a lot to stand up to. After a quick review of the menu we ordered the Sweet Bo's Chicken Philly. The guy helping us in the deli didn't hold back, didn't skimp on the ingredients and made it perfectly cheesy even toasting it twice until it was exactly as we wanted. After checking out we decided to stop in to their small cafe area to eat quickly as we could see it was juicy and didn't want to make a mess eating it in the car. The sandwich was absolutely delicious with lots of chopped chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms and we switched from American cheese to provolone...it absolutely hit the spot and curbed our hanger. I'd never stoped at this public before, but would again, it was very well kept and clean, and I'd definitely get this sandwich again given the opportunity!

Their other olive selections - greek style, mixed with feta, and lemon based, plus their seasoned mushrooms are also delicious. On weekends, they usually have tastings which makes shopping much more fun. And as a perks member, I do get treats for my birthday, half birthday, and anniversary, as well as decent $2 ff $10 coupons occasionally. Service is always polite and speedy, which I appreciate. Bonus points to this location for having EV charging available. Can be nice to juice up while shopping.
