I usually order a giant Ham and provolone sub but the amount of meat (or should I say the lack of meat) has forced me to order Ham, salami and provolone just to ensure they actually put meat on it. Also, they spread the provolone out so thin I have to add some of my own when I get home. Calling this a "jersey thing" is funnier than Danny Devito! This has to be the WORST sub shop in Jersey. How dare they include Jersey in their name. I had to correct the cheese she put on my sandwich which was no problem. The crew was friendly. I came here for their annual day of giving where 100% of their proceeds go to a chosen charity. This particular location had a good assembly line working behind the counter and sandwiches were getting made in a timely matter. I ordered the #2, Jersey's Shore Favorite ($13.25 for Giant). It came with ham, capicola, and provolone. I had it Mike's Way as well which comes with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices. It was a little underwhelming. There was just a lack of flavor here. The bread was the best component as it was soft and appeared fresh. Will I go back? Debatable. read more

iIt's a big problem that the on -line orders are priority over the customer, like me standing in front of you. I'm waiting quite a while before they even ask me what I would like to order because they're making the on-line order sandwiches first. They need a separate station just for on-line orders. It's looks disorganized and unprofessional On my end. The sandwiches are good but not worth standing in line forever Why more people aren't complaining is beyond me. My roomate got me a tuna sub n it had a.very hard piece of light Grey plastic that could have injured my intestines if I didn't bite it n grab it. It was a small square cube that broke off something. I also bought a roast beef sub. Will never eat at jersey Mike's again. Wawa makes better subs n adds celery to their tuna, not plain like mikes. read more

Upn my VERY FIRST experience going to Jersey Mike's in Hillsborough, I was warmly greeted upon entering. Once I was ordering I let them know I only needed 4 simple ingredients on my whole sub. Roast Beef Ham and Cheese...with a little bit of oregano. As I'm trying to pay ( we'll get to that in a sec ) the one girl starts adding oils and other stuff to the sandwich ( none of which I asked for ). Thankfully they quickly made another one right away. as for payment....They could NOT UNDERSTAND that there WAS MONEY ON my gift card!!! I was then made to pay $22 for the sandwich and a 20 oz bottle of soda by credit card. The sandwich was average and nothing special. But it will probably be awhile before I give them another try. I Think I'll stick with my favorite Sandwich Shop just down the street. read more

Out of all the jersey mikes I've been to , they have the worst tuna ever .. and they don't put celery in the lettuce like the others

I ordered a sandwich by phone, and they said it'll be ready in 15 min. I got there in about 7 minutes on a busy Friday evening and the sandwich was all wrapped. My initial thought was that I was impressed they were so fast, but when I got home I realized they gave me a sandwich that must've been made hours ago and wasn't picked up. The cheese was hard and not melted and the chicken was cold. The contents of the sandwich were lopsided and just didn't look right. The person who made the sandwich said he forgot to put the mayo on, so he gave me on the side. Very disappointed in this, as we've been to this shop many times... personally, I think health inspectors should visit this store to make sure they aren't giving old food to customers. read more

Well it's Jersey Mikes and it's pretty good. I think this is the third no probably fourth branch I've been to.They are consistent and deliver a good product . You can get better and cheaper but not from any of other chains I know. They are stratospherically superior to Subway or Blimpies. read more

Horrible, rude service. I placed an order online, arrived at the time that I was supposed to pick up order, and announced myself. I watched as people who entered the store after me placed orders on the line and got their food right away. After waiting 10 minutes, I inquired about my order and told them that I had placed the order almost half an hour ago. The guy who was making sandwiches told me that I didn't in fact wait half an hour. His response to me was: "Your order should've been ready at 12:51, my friend". (Time is now 1:00pm). I told him that we're already almost 10 minutes past the time when it's supposed to be ready and that 4 other people that ordered at the store were able to get their orders immediately. I asked for a refund to which he responded by telling me to leave the store and never come back. This guy deserves to be fired for how rude and obnoxious he was. read more

I've never been to a Jersey Mike's before, but they sent me a free sandwich and drink for my birthday and I thought it was worth checking out. Also, the coupon was good until my NEXT year birthday! I thought that was impressive. Living in NJ I didn't think I'd be impressed by a chain deli, but it was decent. Oh my goodness it was crowded at lunch time though, but the line kept moving. I got a tuna sandwich on wheat and it was quite good. Too filling to finish, but overall great experience. I like this location but not yesterday. They were not picking up their phone. I tried a good number of times and I did not know if they were closed. The recording forwarded me to an automatic voice mail messaging system, the voice mailbox was full and the call disconnected. I drove all the way over there. There were ten people on line and four people waiting for their order. I inquired with one of the team members about the phone. I was told that they were not taking phone orders and were too busy. As a regular at this JMs we are noticing a slide in several different areas. First why is the meat case covered and customers can no longer see the meat selections? The sandwich bread seems smaller, hence smaller sandwich's. The lettuce was brown so we asked to change it out as they were dressing our sandwiches, and when my chicken hot sub came out it was made wrong as I asked for no peppers and it had jalapeños on it. They had to remake it. Tables are now dirty when we eat in. It seems you either get a great sandwich when the A team is working or what I just described when the B team is working. Jersey Mikes is the best chain sub shop there is! And this location is great too! The employees are always super polite and fun, even when the place gets busy. I go here probably 3-4 times a month and mix it up between 4 our 5 of their cold cuts and hot subs. Each time I'm left full and satisfied for under 10 bucks. I'm new to NJ and I've found that a lot of you guys are very proud of your local sub shops, which are also usually fantastic, but as far as chains sub shops go, this place is your best option, hands down. Definitely better than Subway. Try the Club Sub, Medium, on White, Mikes Way (no tomatoes...unless you like em!), add banana peppers. You wont be disappointed! Subs are consistent, bread is by far the tops as it's always fresh. Two good sub shops in town, Jersey Mikes and Just Subs. Jersey Mikes has fresher bread, portion sizes are about the same from both places. Jersey Mikes may be a bit easier to get to as it's not in the middle of busy portion of 206. read more

Love the consistency of Jersey Mikes but this location has to try and get it a little more together. The kids working the counter are unprofessional and get distracted very easily, especially when making a sandwich. Their conversation while making my sandwich is fine by me, as long as you do not have to ask me several times what I said. By the end of the sandwich making process I was correcting him when he attempted to put the wrong ingredient on my sandwich. I miss the location in Parsippany. Those employees were professoinal, kind, friendly, and made an amazing sandwich every time. The location is boro is obviously poorly managed. You would think a location that is competing with Just Subs would try a little harder. Also never get the chicken parm sandwich from here. Go to one of the 100 pizza places in hillsborough instead. Needed to get a quick dinner last night and this was recommended because it was the closest to where I was. I'm a fan of the NJ sub sub experience and taste, and very glad that a chain tastes as good as my local store, so I would have no problem going here again in a heartbeat whenever I find it. One thing that I found to be a concern with is that there is a Jersey Mike's app which allows you to call in an pickup so you do not wait. Unfortunately that meant I was waiting behind 6 sandwiches on the bench which slowed my experience. We love their subs!! Despite living 5 miles from Wegmans which have their own subs, and I love EVERYTHING about wegmans. But they really hit the mark on their subs, hence Jersey Mike coming in. Owners are hands on and friendly, plus I was very happy with my sub and the way it was prepared. I didn't know what to order and the staff guided me in the right direction. Wow, I heard about this place and thought it would be really good. Is it better than Subway?? I'd hope so, because it cost me double and the wait time was ridiculous. When I first walked in it reminded of another sub place nearby that has a few locations and makes excellent subs-Tastee Subs. Then I waited in line for nearly 20 minutes and there were only 7 people in front of me and nobody was buying more than the one sub for themselves. The staff was totally unaware that while they were BSing amongst themselves, people were waiting for their lunch. It was a Friday and it was 1:00, after the typical lunchtime rush. I can't imagine what the wait time is during the busy noon rush. I got a small turkey and swiss sub (8" max), a small bag of chips, and a 20 oz fountain drink. The total was $12 and change!! For real!! The sandwich was decent, but nothing special. It was not loaded with meat, which was fine, but there are many mom & pop sub shops and delis that make much better subs for much cheaper and without a 20 minute wait. Is it better than Subway?? I'd hope so, because it cost me double and the wait time was ridiculous and let's be real-is Subway the bar you measure a sub against? My friend got a similar lunch and was also unimpressed. I would not wait in line that long again for a sandwich, especially if i was on a work lunch with limited time (I was). The fact that the sandwich was meh, and it was so expensive made it very annoying. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area and go to the Tastee sub shop in Franklin or Edison. They may be out of the way, but you'll probably be eating your lunch sooner as these places know how to run a sub shop efficiently and move quality sandwiches. Have tried out a number of local (Somerset County) places for a really good Italian cold cut hero over the past 2 months, and have found most of the places mediocre at best. However we stumbled upon Jersey Mike's on Hyway 206 in Hillsborough and decided to give them a go. First time my wife & I ever were in a Jersey Mike's location and we were VERY PLEASANTLY surprised by the food quality, service level, cleanliness and helpfulness & expediency of the counter staff. There was a substantial line at the counter (Saturday about 1 PM) so a bit of a wait before we could place our order and the reason for only 4 stars. Ordered a #11 STICKBALL sub consisting of ham, salami & provolone on a large soft hero roll (were given a choice of regular or wheat). Had it garnished "MIKE'S WAY" with lettuce, tomato, onion, O&V, & some salt, pepper & oregano. Wanted sweet peppers, but they only had pepper relish or hot peppers so we did without. My wife & I split the sandwich and it was ample. Tasted GREAT with just the right amount of cold cuts on the bread and well sliced so it was substantial (not the thin transparent slices at other sub chains we experienced). The sandwich was priced competitively at about $12, although $2 each for two small fountain soft drink brought our bill up to around $17. Definitely enjoyed the sub and will return. I recommend Jersey Mike's in Hillsborough, NJ for a great hero sandwich. read more
