The action was real at Jersey Mike's Subs!!! A Sub-shop with friendly service staff swamped working hands-on making online orders on top of inline customers. The location has easy parking, very clean, and I saw gloves on most of the time. I was surprised by the location's upkeep, signage, and flow. We placed a quick to-go order since we conveniently got groceries next door at Publix. I had just been traveling for weeks and wanted to relax at home. I had a simple 8"- #7 Turkey and Provolone sub. It had a good portion of meat. What else can I say about sliced turkey meat, soft good wheat bread, basic toppings; I only choose lite mayo and pickles. There is nothing gourmet, unique, or extra; the subs are better than many traditional chains. "Inch-cut sizes" - Portions were different but acceptable for the price and value. This place is a joke. They skimp the meat/ cheese like I've never seen. Honestly subway puts more on. The employees are also extremely slow and rude. Just a location to avoid. Also, the place is a total dump and a complete mess at the workstation. Overhaul the entire staff and give out a decent amount of food, not paper thin slices of cheese. read more

This place deserves a zero star for all I know. I have gone to different jersey mikes in different states, for the most part in Cali since I'm from there. I asked for my sub to be grilled. The people that there have grilled it no problem. I asked for my sub to be grilled here in Gainesville. I'm not sure if it was a manager or employee. Their subs are quite tasty. The service is quite lacking. I parked and ordered Curbside Delivery - which explicitly states that they bring your food out to your car - at 2:01 pm. The app advised me it would ready at 2:16. At 2:10 I saw that I needed to tap "I'm Here" on the app so they would I was ready for it whenever. By 2:31, it was clear no sandwich was coming. I figured maybe the order got lost in the process and had yet to be made. So I give up and walk inside. Literally no one in line or anything. They ask "pickup?" And I said "Curbside..." and they were like "oh yeah the curbside" and it had been sitting there for who knows how long. They hand it to me and at no point did they say, "sorry you've been sitting for 20 minutes waiting on us to do our job"... nothing. I love Jersey Mike's but service like this is irritating enough to avoid. First impression immediately was the staff. Very welcoming and extremely hands on with getting to know their customers. At least 3-4 members of the staff tried to engage me on conversation as I moved down the line. Not sure if it was the manager but he seemed extremely knowledgeable about his menu and recommended me two subs. Both of which I thought were great. The Chipotle Philly Steak and the Roast Beef. I got a giant and normal sized sub to share with a friend and it did not disappoint. To show the quality and type of meet he was cutting for my sub he even showed me the entire cut. Impressive level of customer service in my opinion. Now on to the important part, the taste. Flavors wise it definitely was good and reminded me of the Original Cheese steak I had in Philly. I didn't really taste much of the chipotle sauce but it definitely wasn't bad, no where near amazing but a good sub. The roast beef sub which I had mikes way was fabulous. They loaded it with roast beef and well over average on toppings. All in all it was a good experience and I'll definitely be returning. read more

Jersey Mikes is one of my favorite sub places in America. I love how they make their food, the service they provide, and the taste is out of this world. On my most recent visit to this Jersey Mike's it was in fact another great visit and the staff was super friendly and nice. When you walk in you can see where they prepare the sandwiches. They have the menu overhead so multiple people can view at the same time. You walk up and place your order and the sandwich artists get to work. They make your sandwich fresh to order. I always end up getting the Club Sub on Wheat. The subs are in three different types, the mini, regular or giant. I always end up going with the giant and eat half and the rest for the next meal. The single best thing about this place is that they cut the meat right off the bone fresh for you when you buy it. I love that they do that. The meat is fresh and tender and makes all the difference. The club comes with several different types of meats and then you have the option of toppings. They have lots of topping but I always get mine the Mikes Way which is lettuce, tomato, onion, salt and pepper, seasoning, olive oil and vinegar. It is always really good. I usually ask for a little mayo on it as well. I love this sandwich and it is really good. I will always come back and I highly recommend you give it a try!! read more

I first reviewed Jersey Mike's in 2012 and have it 4 stars... since then, I've had to drop it to a 2 star (borderline 3). The bread-- they have to get better bread. Bread makes a sandwich, and this is just something that needs drastic improvement. Cleanliness -- when I first went to Jersey Mike's, it was very clean. They haven't kept it up. Portions are still great and for the price, and excellent value. Service has dropped. We ordered two subs and they got both wrong. We were also pushed heavily for a tip. Pushed very heavily. There's room for improvement. Hogan's is still the best in town... currently, my last experience (08.2014) leaves me with a "Meh. I've experienced better." read more

I wasn't impressed. I'll start with the "Famous" Philly (steak). It tasted pretty much like a steak philly from Subway, only with fresh onions and peppers. It was a "Regular", so that's 6". I had to eat through 2" of average, too mushy bread before I even got to the meat. It was a skimpy sub and they charge $8 or something for that? Ugh. The normal subs (like Italian) are better, but not enough to give it another star. So they slice fresh meat to make the sandwich. So does Publix, so does Hogans. Both are cheaper. I like the bread better at either of those places. It's ok, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to be overcharged for a simply "good" sub. Once again, I'll stick to Hogans. Bigger and better tasting subs for a much more reasonable price. And of course, they have beer. read more

This is a solid place to get a good and hearty sub. They have great daily deals (and even a Yelp check in deal!), the meats are freshly sliced in front of you, and the staff has given great customer service both times we've come. I don't know what happened to our subs today... But everything we ordered was messed up. My boyfriends sandwich was supposed to come with bacon... And it was sent down the line so fast he didn't notice until we got home that it wasn't on. He also requested multiple veggies and one was left off. He asked for my veggie sub to have all veggies except banana peppers.. And they made it mikes way. I hate oil and vinegar on sandwiches... And this was drenched, even soggy. I love love love Jersey Mike's!!! I get their veggie/cheese sandwich and it's just so yummy. Definitely get your sandwich "Mike's Way" with extra hot pepper spread and deli mustard. I wish there was one closer to where I live, but if I'm ever in that neck of the woods during lunch time I always get a sandwich. My husband loooves their Big Kahuna cheesesteak sandwich as well. NOT good. Bread was stale, day-old at least and not baked on premise (from sysco it looked like). We got grilled chicken and veg subs. The chicken they use for this is the same cold-cuts as in the cold sandwiches - so grilled they are disgusting. Really. And the peppers were clearly canned, not fresh. I grew up on the Jersey Mike's subs in Point Pleasant, NJ before they became a chain. When we moved away it was heart breaking to no longer have the subs. Whenever anyone went back to visit, it was a requirement to get Mike's subs for the family and fly them back. Since they have become a franchise, it has been awesome to be able to get the subs again. It is still a requirement that when I go to visit the family, that I have to bring Mike's subs to them. Do you think our family would go through so much trouble if they were just average subs? I don't think so. They have the best subs. I am disappointed with the reviews it has gotten so far because the bread is fresh, the meat is awesome, and the sub toppings are fresh unlike Publix. I have been to Hogan's Heros several times and each time I go, I have gotten sick afterwards. Whenever I go, I always get the cheese steak and the #5 Super Sub. They are absolutely amazing. The best I have had from anywhere. There is so much flavor in their subs. I say give this place a try and you will be blown away. read more

Awful awful awful! Got an overpriCed chicken Philly once. Was fair at best. Figured I'd give it another try with my daughter. Asked for 1/2 ham 1/2 turkey. They refused to mix the meat. It's the same friggin price for ham as it is for Turkey. I asked why. They said we just ate not allowed to do it. They immediately told me "have a good day Sir!" They made my wrap quickly- a #13 spinach wrap, however they were out of spinach wrap so it was made with whole wheat. This store often has good deals on Yelp so check ahead before you go. Always enjoyed Jersey Mike's and this one is no different. There is one pet peeve I have with this store. Whether it's their company policy or not, when you pay via credit card you are asked to leave a tip at the cashier in the screen. I find this ridiculous as the subs are already in the pricey end compared to their competitors is asking for tips really necessary? It's one thing to have a tip jar, it's another when you are being asked to tip even if it is electronically it doesn't change the principle of it. read more

A seemingly new place in town, they said they had been at that location for over a year, but I had never heard of them before my work got lunch from them. I was impressed with the taste that I got and went back the next week. I left even more impressed... The sandwiches were pretty large and they put a lot of toppings on them. They sliced all the cold sandwiches fresh on a slicer. I wasnt blown away by the ham, but the roast beef that my friends got was VERY good, a medium-rare cut that they said they cook in house, which is great for a franchise. I didn't have any issues with bread, which was fresh and moist. Tomatoes were beautiful too. My friend got a cheesesteak which they said they usually put canned pickled peppers on, but they replaced them with fresh green peppers at no extra cost. Employees were friendly, service was fast and the store seemed pretty clean. It was a little pricier than their competitors, but they really do have good sandwiches so I didn't feel like I want getting my money's worth. They didn't have soups or any other sides other than chips or cookies, however. All in all I left satisfied and will be back. A good little find. read more

Great sandwiches with great specials. This is vastly superior to Subway and at least as good as Publix. Fresh sliced meats, good bread, good toppings, and friendly service. My only reason for not giving five stars is I have had better subs, but those were from gourmet sub shops so maybe not a fair comparison.
