I've been coming here frequently for 2-3 years, and up until recently, I'd be giving this location 5 stars, based solely on the service I previously received. I would come in with my kids and the staff was always friendly--they'd give my kids a cookie or chips here and there; always charge me just for a piece of bread when I made a goofy kid order that's just a piece of bread with a few veggies and nothing else (no meat or cheese); and I've gotten to acquainted with some of these friendly folks to the point we're talking about our families when I see them.  Then this one guy just ruins the whole thing. He's charging me an extra $5-$7 for the bread sandwich. Fine, if you care that much and don't wanna show a little hospitality to frequent customers, go ahead. But my issue is he's always got something snide or disrespectful to say.  And today was it. First, this guy is giving me lip for no reason when I order. Then my kid grabs the wrong kids meal cup at the counter--I tell her to put it back and grab the kids cup. But the (nice) dude working the register says it's fine--both my kids can take the bigger cups. "You sure?" "Yeah, man, all good." "Thanks, I appreciate it." But then the other guy walks over to ring us up for two extra drinks. I tell him the other guy gave my kids the bigger cups. Then he starts talking to other guy as if I'm not there, saying "they're always gonna try something"--saying it over and over.  I've never been remotely rude or disrespectful here. That's not how I treat people, especially around my kids. And having worked in food service many years ago, I know it's a thankless, sometimes with rude customers, so I always go out of my way to be nice, show appreciation. I don't expect anything over the top, and sometimes people are just having a bad day and don't want to engage--but I do expect the same respect I show others. Again, especially in front of my kids. Going forward I'm just gonna turn around and walk out the door most times when I see this dude working. And I'll mainly just avoid this place. If he wants to lose a loyal customer's business over some petty BS, that's his thing. And I'm not really interested in getting into at a sandwich shop. This guy seems like he might be the manager, and maybe I just had the good fortune of not running into him for a couple years. But I'll leave this here in case whoever's in charge cares about losing a customer due to some s*** that should not be tolerated. The rest of your staff is phenomenal. Just find someone else for that position who respects your customers. read more

Was never a Jersey Mikes fan because the only one I tried was in the South Loop. Tried this one on Irving Park because I needed something fast. I've been back at least 20 times. Only had one issue and the manager resolved it very quickly. It's hard running a business nowadays but I appreciate the customer service and preparation every time I come in. These are the reasons I won't be ordering from this location anytime soon if ever again: 1. Some days you pay for extra meat and some days you MIGHT get it. 2. When you order rosemary parmesan bread sometimes you'll get plain white. 3. Sometimes ingredients that actually belong on the sandwich will be missing. 4. Sometimes you will receive a sloppy mess. 5. Sometimes you'll barely get any meat at all. Depending on who is in the kitchen you may have an excellent meal, but too many times it has been extremely disappointing and the food costs too much to put up with that. read more

I have said this before and I will say it again. Too often I have to get on here to write a bad review . So when I get to write a good one it makes me content. I have recently become a fan of Jersey Mike's subs. I was craving a certain sub of theirs (#7 w bacon) so I stopped at the nearest one. First time I've been here. I was not paying attention to the time so I didn't know that they were already putting things away to close up for the night. Yet despite the fact they made me a damn good sub. No b@$#€ing or complaining about what time it was or anything like that. I just liked the fact that they were awesome about the whole thing and happy to make it. Very pleasantly surprised! Out of all the sub chains, JMs is towards the top. I thought JJs was the best, but they are definitely giving them a run for their money. I used to order from this Jersey Mike's every Monday. Then on June 3, 2024, I ordered a BLT and it arrived with no bacon. What's weirder is whoever assembled it wrote, "I Can't Breathe" on it (see attached pic). So not only did I get a BLT with no bacon, which is useless, I get a reference to police brutality on the sleeve for some reason. And Jersey Mike's DOES NOT care about this; I tweeted at them about it, with the picture, and have gotten no response. So I'm switching over to Jimmy John's permanently. read more

Frankly put, they don't know what they are doing here. The food is fine and the employees are nice, but whomever is running it (or more accurately NOT running it) is incompetent. I work nearby and there's limited options for lunch, so I keep coming back to get metaphorically slapped in the face. I have had the following issues each happen more than once: can't accept cash (no change), can't accept credit cards (system is down), drink machine not working. Also one time, they simply couldn't take any orders at all as the whole system was down. I know things happen, but things don't happen with this frequency at any other restaurant I've ever been to (or worked at) in my entire life. And on the many occasions that the drink machine is down (it's happened to me three times that I can remember), YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED FOR A BOTTLED DRINK YOU DON'T WANT. And no, they won't have iced tea ready because it's almost never brewed. I would have been fine with iced tea also. Today this happened again. with the drink machine being broken and me being overcharged. Chicken Philly + Drink/chips = $13.85 plus tax. The people working insisted that I wasn't going to be charged extra for a bottled drink, but obviously I was because my total came out to $16.28 after tax. I know city taxes are high but not like that. It's not a lot of money but on principle, I loathe being charged more simply because the product I want (fountain drink) is not available. I didn't argue with them because I could tell that it was going to be a waste of my time, but I did decide to take to Yelp to voice my dissatisfaction. If you work or live nearby, the food is fine...but if you're passing through and think to yourself "oh, Jersey Mike's sounds pretty good today," save it for another day. Odds are, you won't be able to pay for your order the way you want to/you won't be able to get the drink you want/you will be overcharged. Possibly all of the above! read more

first, I like to say I love Jersey you guys are the best but this Irving Park location I'm not a big fan of. every time I went there which is only a few because I don't like that one and it happens to be the closest to my house. They're always all over the place , everyone seems lost like they don't know where to be. I was just in there an hour ago. I'm not usually a sub person, but Mr Yelp certainly is. This was my first ever visit to a Jersey Mike's. The place was very clean and fresh and the staff was smiling and welcoming and friendly. I ordered a hot sandwich and Mr Yelp got a roast beef. They were both fantastic. There are some unique sodas available in the dispenser- root beer and cream soda. Both were delicious. Had a staff meeting for our company and our sandwiches were delivered almost 2 hours late. In attempts to resolve the matter the delivery person mentioned that we would be getting reimbursed or discount coupons for sandwiches in the future. We called several times to follow up with the manager but was always redirected or told they would call back once the manager is in. A clear example of lack of accountability and a poorly managed store. We will never be ordering through Jersey Mikes for future meetings. read more

I went in on my lunch to order food (normally do online but my card was compromised and I haven't gotten my new one). I was excited when I saw no one was in line--I would be next. I waited over 5 mins before anyone even spoke to me. One of the girls cutting meat said "I'll be with you soon." Coolio. About 10 mins goes by and I say, "I am so sorry--I am on lunch could you possibly take my order?" I was polite. She said, "I guess" and proceeds to cut meat. 5 more mins go by and she changes spots with another girl and tells her to cut the meat for online orders; the original girl goes to a different section. I am left waiting. I walk out--at this point once I drive home I will have to clock back in. Alas, no lunch for me today. I never post reviews. But as someone who has worked in the industry--people in the establishment take precedent to the online orders. read more

I'm excited to have one nearby, but we placed our first order this week and received regular sized subs and not giant. I called and the manager was kind enough to refund me but not send the remainder of my order. While I appreciate getting my money back, I ordered the subs to eat them...not to spend 15 mins on the phone trying to get an unsatisfactory resolution. We went Sunday Oct 16, 2022 around 4 pm. The store has only been open a week, which we knew, and there was amiable confusion. The staff were great! Relaxed but attentive. Onions made them all cry. They are still working out workflow but the staff were engaged with us, demonstrated caring with a sense of humor, and were eager to please. The cold sub was great. However, the hot chicken (#26, I believe) was incredibly paltry! Ten bucks per sandwich is a lot of money. The hot sandwich did not deliver value. I don't know if the cook was in error or the sandwich is poorly designed. It was certainly no where near Potbelly's (with roughly the same price point). read more

I've gone to this location about a handful of times. I've never been to another Jersey Mike's location. Right from the first time I went to today when I went, everyone is so friendly. Place is nice and very clean. I'm an observer of what goes on behind the counters and this place is spot on with keeping everything clean. Need I say, the sandwiches are excellent. The worst experience I've had. I pre ordered 24 subs for a specific time 45 minutes before my daughters birthday party to make sure they were fresh. I showed up on time and they hadn't started the sandwiches. I waited for 40 minutes for the sandwiches to be made and they didn't label them. Now I show up to the party where people have dietary restrictions and people are guessing and handing off sandwiches. To make it worse, I call and ask to speak with the owner or store manager and did not receive a returned call. When I followed up, the current manager Dominic said good luck and she couldn't do anything for me. She went on to laugh when she hung up the phone. So I and my mom decided to stop by because we had nothing else to choose so we decided to go to jersey mike's for dinner so once we walked in the lovely lady greeted us and starts to say look through the menu and order whatever you want which is nice when she said that then we start to order what we want and what we have chosen she will say great choice and then when she asked what I wanted on the sandwich I said what I wanted and she even gave me suggestions for the sandwich which is nice and it was a good idea because, to be honest subway doesn't even tell you or do you want that on that at jersey mike's they want your sandwich to be amazing which it was and once I tried that sandwich is was like heaven and I may have to choose this place over subway because you guys are the best at making a sandwich for real And we came here on 3/6/23 so thank you very much again for being kind to us every worker who works there lol. read more
