Cute spot tucked in the food court but very limited options. Milkshake machine was broken so couldn't try those :/

We love Gaia and Loki!…read more It's so beautiful inside and the seats are so comfortable! It has such a wonderful lively and friendly atmosphere. The staff goes above and beyond! We are always so impressed. The Incredible food is all vegan! Their menu is full of so many options and they alway have specials. So many healthy options. I love their lasagna! Their Cauliflower Piccata is divine! Everything is always played beautifully too Alsoooooo their tea selection is next level!

Got a bunch of stuff from here for take out and it was all delicious!…read moreThe standout for me was the Penne Alla Vodka-- sauce was so tasty and well cooked penne. Flavorful sauce that was creamy enough but not too heavy- better than some "fancy" vegan Italian restaurants I've had in the city. Also comes with a side of garlic bread. The mushroom empanada was very good- each piece is huge!! They are deep fried, and would be nice to have a baked option perhaps. The filling was really good- seemed like a mix of meat substitute and mushrooms. Also tried the vegan crispy chicken burger- portion was huge. Very nice sesame bun and "chicken" patty was thick and hearty. For dessert, got the strawberry cheesecake which was so-so for me. The texture was ok but the taste was not cheesecake-y enough for me. But it was still good overall. The slice was HUGE! Definitely for sharing. Also got the vegan gluten-free choc chip cookie which I really liked- crispy edges and chewy center, not too sweet. Everything was well-packaged and service was fast after ordering for pick up. The staff were lovely. Overall, Gaia & Loki left a great impression for yummy vegan comfort food in Jersey City, with very generous portions. The restaurant seemed popular and crowded, and has a nice casual vibe to it. Come with an appetite, and people to share with. Will return to either in person or order takeout again!

I recently enjoyed a date night at Willow. While an omnivore, I enjoy the culinary sensations of…read morevegan food - and Willow did not disappoint. The dining room is spacious and with a nice ambience between the lighting and artwork of willow trees. For dinner - I had the whiskey BBQ brisket and fries. The texture and taste of the "meat" was fantastic. Most meat eaters wouldn't even realize that they are eating plant-based brisket - it was that good! Our server "Teddy" was attentive, informative, friendly - and with a clever sense of humor. The price paid was commensurate for the quality of food and service received. Vegans, omnivores, and explorers alike - should try Willow Vegan Bistro!

SERVICE - located in Chelsea…read more - spacious interior with tables for groups of 2-4 people - reservations are not required though could be helpful if you do not want to risk waiting - great service! our waiter provided us with comprehensive descriptions of the dishes and drinks - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi formal meal MENU - french American bistro food - all vegan/vegetarian - slightly pricey FOOD - French dip (7/10): vegan grilled steak with provolone cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onion, and horseradish aioli on a toasted baguette served with a side of au jus dip and fries. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

I had a one off poor experience in this establishment. There was a Halloween event on the…read morepedestrian walk way in front of Pet Shop which I attended my kids and my kids friends. They were selling margaritas outside at this event. Me and another dad just finished our margaritas and decided to walk into Pet Shop with our empty plastic cups to see if they could make any to go drinks. We were greeted by Jessie at the empty bar. I told him "hey we have these plastic cups....any chance we can purchase to go drinks for the event outside." He said no...which was fine. But then he reached across the bar and snatched the cups out of our hands stating he could not let us walk out with the empty cups we came in with. He could have asked us to hand him the cups instead of grabbing it from us like that. We were stunned for a minute that that actually happened. So after that happened I asked if I can use the restaurant's bathroom. Jessie seemed annoyed...looked at us up and down and replied "the bathroom are for paying customers only." We took it as judgement as if the other dad and I were some kind of peasants. We ended up purchasing 2 margaritas at the bar in order to use the restaurant's bathroom. The margaritas were good and priced good($10 each). The business was empty. Wasn't like he was busy. The bartender Jessie was acting like an a**hole. You shouldn't work in the hospitality business if you lack basic customer service skills.

Came for the vegetarian food, but not sure I'll return…read more The space at the back is pretty open and there are quite a few tables, including nice size booths for groups. No table service so you order at the bar, which wasn't a hassle at all. As the night went on (8pm) the music got pretty aggressive and extremely loud. I get that it's a bar, but there were probably 30 people inside and suddenly you couldn't hear the person sitting across from you. The food consists of typical bar fare, but it's 100% vegetarian. I like the loaded tater tots - they're nice with a few jalapeño pieces, the savory "meat", and topped with creamy cheese. I've definitely had better wing alternatives and vegan ranch sauce was not good. Lastly, we tried the pet shop tacos and they were mostly void of flavor in a dry tortilla. If you're a vegetarian and looking for late night bar food, perhaps this will do the trick. If you're looking for a good dinner and a couple drinks in a super laid back environment, maybe not.

Tucked away and worth the find! This little gem was near an errand I was running and glad I found…read moreit. The team members are all great! They take pride in their restaurant's offerings, as they should. My server was wonderful, offering suggestions to this first-timer. I started with a Volcano Roll - hearts of palm substituting for fish. Well balanced and delicious. Next was broccoli "beef" - fresh broccoli and shitake "steak" with mushrooms really balanced the dish. I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. I could see how it could get a bit noisy if it were crowded. But even so, the people who visit are friendly and I ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me. I'll be back. I'm not exactly local, but it's definitely worth the trip! Planta is on my faves list now!

I am not vegan. If it weren't for our friends who are, and having eaten already at the kopino fest,…read morewe probably would not have gone. Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.
