I just started a new job in Hudson Square, and this Juice Generation is my go to lunch spot. Whatever judge me, go ahead. I don't care. If I eat too big of a lunch these days I can't even function and am just completely unproductive the 2nd half of the day, so a smoothie really is the optimal option. If my time in New York has taught me anything, it's that smoothie culture in the city is severely lacking. So when I found out about this Protein Knockout smoothie ($11), it actually changed my life. The water, blueberries, peanut butter, banana, and vanilla whey protein all make up 560 calories: 55 grams of protein, 23 grams of fat, and only 36 carbs. They should really rename it to THE MACRO BULLY or THE MOG FATHER. All caps. I use their app to order ahead, so right when I walk in my smoothie is ready and waiting. As a smoothie lover, I always try a different smoothie at Juice Generation. I had the Purple Pineapple this time and it was really delicious. The smoothie has pineapple, coconut, banana, acai, apple, and blueberries. I love the added coconut. It adds sweetness to the smoothie in a good way. Although the smoothies cost around $10-$11, they are blended well and they are filling. I am not a fan of the price but considering that other places can have expensive smoothies that do not taste good, I really like this one from Juice Generation. Made right in front if you - there is a wide range to choose from as well as a few snacks such as vegan desserts. Great for seeking refuge from the asphalt heat. Good sized smoothie. They only offer one size option, but it is enough to satisfy the small hunger pangs of mid afternoon. The protein knockout is the smoothie with the most protein and you can feel it. I took it as a meal replacement and it really does replace a whole meal. I didn't need dinner. You get 55g of whey protein. The base is water, but you can choose milk etc. I opted for water, and it still came out creamy. You also have other items on the menu that are plant based. Although I typically only get it in the summer time I'm always in the mood for my fav drink, watermelon dragon! It always hits the spot! This Juice Generation is also pet friendly. They have a dog bowl filled with water by the entrance door... I am not sure how frequently it is changed though. I'm a fan of Juice Generation because their juices and smoothies are so concentrated. The only thing I noticed about this location compared to others is that instead of giving you the leftovers from the juicing/smoothie making, they mostly throw it out. Recently, I ordered a Kale Kolada for $9ish and only got 3/4 of the juice, which is extremely unusual because whenever I ordered this drink at the other locations, they always fill it up with tons left for you to drink on the side. I was happy to discover Juice Generation and decided to go in a for a smoothie bowl. I was not disappointed. I got a tropical acai bowl which seemed small, but was the perfect portion size. They did not skimp on the toppings specifically the mango and kiwifruit. Both were very fresh which I was not expecting. I always seem to order the "Peanut Butter Split Smoothie" because it's always that good lol, but I have tried the Kale smoothie in here which is equally as good. This location is right on Bleeker street in which there are other shops and restaurants around in case you wanted to stop somewhere else. I love a good smoothie, what can I say? I actually don't have much to say except that I'm a fan of this place. When you walk in, it smells both clean AND healthy. Seriously, it smells healthy. Let that sink in. Considering the handful of times I've come here, it has always been for one thing and one thing only - their joyful almond. It is so decadent, but also not. I like that you have a choice of milk; I always choose almond, but they also have coconut milk, if that's your jam. I also like that they give you a choice of sweetener between agave and dates. Quite honestly, both are delicious, but today, I opted for the dates for the first time and I'm impressed. It is quite expensive here, but I'm not really complaining, either. Considering how expensive their juices are you would think they'd want to cater to their customers. They have a huge open area with no tables. I didn't notice the "no indoor dining" sign till after I made my purchase and kindly asked if I could finish my juice inside since it is cold. I was rudely told no I could not. I try to be less lazy and make smoothies myself, but on the off day, I swing by this shop to fulfill my itch when out of ingredients myself. I'm consistently bummed by the outcome when I do. The service is great and fine, but the product is always annoying tasteless. Inconsistent texture (and watery for an acai bowl!), always watered down -- I'm not sure if there's a cut back from management on ration of fruit, but you're a smoothie store, surely input costs isn't too high per smoothie sold -- and it's bare on top (which let's be real, it the reason to buy the acai!). And they have coconut milk which is great for those avoiding dairy and almonds. I usually get the Mr. Greengenes with coconut milk... and love it!! Perfect mix of healthy greens and sweet fruits. I like a complicated all veggie juice order and these guys nailed it. I thought that the vegetables tasted fresh and I enjoyed my juice quickly and thoroughly. I recommend one of the veggie ones especially the one with carrots and beets. I also liked the clean and sparse Decour although it's a little hard to find a trashcan when you need one. With so many places to choose from to get a juice I think this one stands out. read more

terrible customer service on two separate occasions. will not be returning. there were literally more people working at the store than trying to order and they still couldn't keep the line moving. the woman who took my order claimed I ordered a double shot - I ordered a single - and then told me she charged me for a double. when I asked for a refund another worker kept telling me to "relax because she's new" which - as a customer - is not my concern and then kept saying he wanted to make sure I was happy because I'm the customer. I then had to wait for the manager to check the register only to find out the woman lied and actually charged me for the correct item. Entire ordeal could have been avoided if the woman who took my order could had been accurate or - since she's "new" - maybe trained better. entire experience was incredibly disappointing. read more
