The aerator was clogged. Then he had to remove some drywall and replace the pipes in the bathroom and also installed new shower controls for $1,200. It's still working great today. This is the basic 3 star benchmark for any company -- the bare minimum. Henco was unique among my contractor interactions of recent years in that they actually applied some critical thought to the situation! Where others (including other quotes for the same project) insisted that their first knee-jerk (and whaddya know, more expensive) idea was the ONLY way to address a situation, the Henco team listened to our needs, thought through options for redirecting the pump and drain pipes, and ended up doing a reliable and good job on an alternative (and in hindsight, best) approach that no other quoters came up with. Respect and thought shouldn't be extraordinary, but in 10 years of homeownership it is evident that most contractors don't bother with them, while still asking for 5 stars. Those ones don't get 5 stars. Henco does!

It's normally $250 and they gave it to us for our first year for $50. This all started when we needed duct cleaning and contacted them about duct cleaning and as part of a welcome to Henco, we got that maintenance plan at 20% of what the retail value is listed as. Unfortunately, the only thing that has been hitch. Free was the duct cleaning that we had done originally but everything else along the way has been some of the shittiest communication I've ever run into. The second job that we had done is that we had our hot water heater replaced, and here's where the communication stuff started to faulter. The plumber showed up with the wrong hot water heater. They had to go get another hot water heater, and while they got the other hot water heater in a decent timeframe because they found one locally, the idea that they didn't measure for the space before they showed up to the house is absolutely ridiculous. Then we had an HVAC order to where we were getting an air handler completely replaced because when the guys came out and cleaned it, they didn't tell us about a ball bearing in the fan that was going bad and when they completed that cleaning job, the AC failed. This was unfortunately on the hottest weekend of the year so far and so we went an entire weekend without air-conditioning. So when we finally got this scheduled for the air handler to be replaced, it was supposed to replace both the fan and the condenser unit per multiple conversations on site about that. Both are bad. Along the ways of getting this complete was a myriad of poor communication scheduling screw ups and miss quoted product lines which caused our expectations to be reset. At this point with everything included, we spent well over $15,000 with these guys and the communication is absolutely some of the worst communication I've ever experienced with a professional service company.

Someone got back to me right away, and scheduling was a fast. I originally called them out to service my water heater and potentially upgrade the heating elements. They were incredibly quick with the service, but what really blew me away was their honesty. Instead of just replacing the elements and charging me for it, they let me know they were completely fine and just needed a quick temperature adjustment. I was able to return the parts I had already purchased for a refund. They also noted that while my unit is in great shape right now, it is getting a bit older. They took the time to educate me on what to keep an eye on and walked me through my best options for a future replacement when the time comes. Yes, they are licensed and bonded. I think these people are a rip off. The woman just hung up on me when I, called back, & asked why their service was so expensive. Beware of this place. I received a phone call this morning from Brad the owner of this business. He apologized to me for the phone call, and explained that I was giving the wrong information. He said the price for a residential home was more like $45-$75. Much more reasonable. He mentioned that he was going to have a discussion with his employees and train them to better answer questions, to customers who call.. He also told me that the person on the phone did not actually hang up on me. We were disconnected. He said he strives for better customer service and quality work.
