My experience with Henco Plumbing has been great! I called them about 2 years ago to clear a clogged pipe and install a new toilet and had a very satisfying experience (see my previous review), so when we had yet another clog, I called them again. Our plumbing tech, Drew Smith, cleared the clog but found that the sewer line was deteriorating. He conferred with his manager at length to determine the best options available for me. We decided to do the least invasive fix, one that would avoid having to tear up my basement, ( which we use as additional living space), to get to the pipe. Expensive? Yes, but it's the sewer pipe folks - not something we can do without. Henco staff worked with me on the financing and I approved an epoxy coating for the existing pipe. Scott Printz Phil Skaggs, (the expert installers), came out and dug up the back yard to expose the pipe, descaled it and ran the camera to prep for the epoxy. No can do - pipe is in such bad shape that epoxy would be a very expensive, useless option. They immediately notified Henco management & Drew. Drew came back out on Monday with possible options. He'd shared ALL the info & videos provided by Scott & Phil with management, as well as my concerns about cost. It's now Thursday and Scott & Phil are back to insert a special liner (actually a pipe within the existing pipe) that will, to all intents & purposes replace the old pipe without having to dig up my basement & pierce the foundation. This is still an expensive option, but considerably less money than tearing up the basement. Bottom line, these folks have been personable, efficient, and have produced the results they promised. The work, when completed correctly, is good, but their communication sucks. We had the opportunity to buy into their annual plan for a fraction of its retail value. It's normally $250 and they gave it to us for our first year for $50. This all started when we needed duct cleaning and contacted them about duct cleaning and as part of a welcome to Henco, we got that maintenance plan at 20% of what the retail value is listed as. Unfortunately, the only thing that has been hitch. Free was the duct cleaning that we had done originally but everything else along the way has been some of the shittiest communication I've ever run into. The second job that we had done is that we had our hot water heater replaced, and here's where the communication stuff started to faulter. The plumber showed up with the wrong hot water heater. They had to go get another hot water heater, and while they got the other hot water heater in a decent timeframe because they found one locally, the idea that they didn't measure for the space before they showed up to the house is absolutely ridiculous. Then we had an HVAC order to where we were getting an air handler completely replaced because when the guys came out and cleaned it, they didn't tell us about a ball bearing in the fan that was going bad and when they completed that cleaning job, the AC failed. This was unfortunately on the hottest weekend of the year so far and so we went an entire weekend without air-conditioning. So when we finally got this scheduled for the air handler to be replaced, it was supposed to replace both the fan and the condenser unit per multiple conversations on site about that. Both are bad. Along the ways of getting this complete was a myriad of poor communication scheduling screw ups and miss quoted product lines which caused our expectations to be reset. At this point with everything included, we spent well over $15,000 with these guys and the communication is absolutely some of the worst communication I've ever experienced with a professional service company. read more

Avoid this company. They just want to hard sell you incredibly expensive packages. It feels like used car salesmen or somehow maybe worse? Came out for a bid on two outdoor pickets being replaced. They said it would cost $800, but also I needed to repipe my whole home and that would be only $35K. They also charge $130 for the visit just to come and give a bid. The two people who came didn't even seem like actual plumbers, more like shady salesmen. Got bids from actual plumbers, significantly less expensive and an actual skilled tradesmen. A Henco employee - Austin - came out for routine check up of furnace. Stated he found a gas leak and would need to replace a very expensive part and some switches, charged $1300 for this work on same day and provided no receipt. When he left, there was no heat. When he was called to come back, he requested the remaining $1300 of the charges but was unable to explain why there was no heat. He said for 7-8k he could replace the furnace and some of the fees could go towards that cost. Reached out and spoke with owner/manager Chris, who was difficult to get in touch with, and they were apologetic and reimbursed the funds completely. Offered to have someone else come take a look, but we declined. Upon having another company come out, they did all the work for under $500, provided an itemized receipt for work to be done, and were concerned there was mal intent performed by the prior company with findings during their diagnostics. read more

3/18 Jordan & assistant came to replace kitchen faucet. Jordan indicated the Moen faucet I purchased wouldn't work with the Danco Spayrator and indicated a different faucet would work better. Jordan and assistant left for 45 minutes to purchase different faucet. Up lon return, I indicated I didn't like the height of the faucet, the lever on the right hand side for the on off, or where the spray pattern hit on the sink 2 inches away from the drain. They installed it anyhow. 3/20 @ 11:02 am & 12:10 called Henco, spoke to Christian expressed my dissatisfaction with the faucet and that Jordan ignored my dissatisfaction with the faucet when he installed it. Requested an itemized bill. He indicated someone would contact me in a couple of days. No one contacted me. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! These guys are running a scam. They tell you a catastrophe is imminent, "I'm glad you called me, you avoided disaster!" They over diagnose, price gouge, and then bring in the next department to take more advantage of you. They charged me $6500 for a "package" to correct a leak from my main line because the pipe was old and made of poor quality materials and probably cracking everywhere. They never bothered to remove the water from the box until they began pipe replacement, and the leak clearly came from a cap at the end of the unused sprinkler line, a $500 repair!!! Then, I looked at reviews and saw that they did the same thing with other divisions, mostly to seniors. I am trying to dispute the charge and will be contacting the state. Drew was fantastic to work with! He was kind, communicative, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. He took the time to explain everything going on to me and gave me ideas on how to do preventative maintenance. He made the whole process easy and stress-free, and he solved our clogged pipe issue quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend--would absolutely work with him again! I had a frustrating experience with the customer service team at Henco. I called ahead to ask if a coupon I found online--$150 off mainline clearing--would apply to my situation. I explained the issue was in the kitchen, noting I wasn't familiar with plumbing, and was assured by the representative that the coupon would be valid. However, after the service was completed, the manager informed me the coupon didn't apply and stated that customer service reps are not held accountable for knowing which discounts are valid to what work because they are not the ones doing the work. They said it would be used as a coaching opportunity, but I was still left paying more than expected. To their credit, they did waive the initial diagnostic fee as originally promised and ended up refunding me $50. While the technician was helpful and professional, I would caution others to get confirmation of pricing and discounts in writing, as verbal assurances may not be honored. read more

I am southern WA. Had a hot water heater that was dripping and not putting out hot water. Called them on a Friday and they had a tech out the next morning. Kaleb was awesome and did a awesome job. But this where I would not recommend or use them again. Partly my fault. But here I am a Saturday no hot water. The water was only 7 years old and expecting a possible easy fix. Just enough to exceed its warranty. I paid the $129 service call in advance and was told my water heater was shot. I ask Kaleb who is there and ready to start replacing my water heater, what was the ballpark range to replace it. I am thinking $1500-$1700. He says $3500. Like I said partly my fault for saying no thanks and finding another company. But I did not want to pay for another service call or several or be without hot water or take a day off to have it replaced. Kaleb calls his boss and gets it reduced to $3000 pre-taxed. I agreed hesitantly. Needing it done. When I get the invoice it says basic hot water install $3000 plus tax $3243. I know I got screwed from the beginning. But I called, emailed requested a itemized break down for what I payed for I got the nicest of people saying I will pass that along to our finance person. Finally I get a call from Penelope the project manager. I ask How is a thousand hot water a $2000 install. Well that is the going rate, you get peace of mind with us, Blah blah. I said googled the average cost to replace 50 gallon gas hot water heater and should been at most $2000 for quality of the water heater and access to replace it. I am in a single story ranch house where the access is maybe 15 feet from my front door. She tells you can't trust google and our competitors would agree google lies. So I ask is the basic package a one size fits all and she replied, yes. For a 50 gallon water tank remind you. Not a tankless hot water heater in the attic. So I will chalk this as lesson learned. I was maybe thinking a lose fitting that was dripping onto the control unit and took it out and expecting $600-800 fix. So super long story short ask them in advance what worst case scenario will cost you. Basically, when said and done I payed double the price for a replacement. read more

Henco solved a problem we've had with my neighbor Terry's sprinkler system. There have been six vendors trying to figure out the leak. My friends/neighbors were running down all kinds of rabbit holes. Finally, one of the plumbing vendors recommended Henco to find the leak. All of our neighbors have been exhausted by the days of vendors "trying" and the expenses Terry incurred. Henco came, found the issue, and fixed it promptly. His price was a FRACTION of what they paid for unsuccessful vendor trys. We highly recommend Henco. read more

Six Hundred for a install of an existing toilet seems to be a little much, but it's been years since we needed a plumber, so maybe I am behind the times. Also $1100.00 for an ADA toilet was much got one at Lowe's for $270.00. With that said, I would use them again, but maybe a little more cautious about cost. read more

Well 2 years ago I gave this company a very high rating because it looked like it was a job well done but after 2 years replacing my 1 1/2 washer drain with a 2 inch drain line with ABS I was having a problem with it backing up so I had some one come and take a look. Well it looks like it was never strapped up to code so after time it had a belly swell in between the strapping also they never changed the main drain so it was 2 inch going into to a 1 1/2 drain just beware now it has to be redone read more

At best - they have an appointment process. Stop there! It's an extremely poor process that sucks!! We had an easy 20 - 30 minute normal job. I know it's simple because we've had it done before, but because Henco misled us - it's turned into an emergency situation. They wasted THREE days of our valuable time and cost us three important appointments including a funeral all in one day! I spoke with Yasmine Saturday about possibly getting service that same day. Although it wasn't a sure thing - she completely led me to believe we would at least get service the next day, Sunday but had to wait for a call from dispatch to set ups up with a plumber. Dillon (dispatch) called a short time later that day, but as we possibly suspected - wasn't available until the next day. He said Emily, the Sunday dispatcher would call us "mid morning" - which no one would define what "mid-morning" meant, but at least we'd get a plumber, so we agreed. Mid morning came and went! I had to call AGAIN, and even then - STILL had to wait again for Emily to call us back. Emily tells my wife and I we would STILL have to wait, but not until Monday for STILL ANOTHER call, and ONLY THEN-- MAYBE to get service Monday, but probably not!??!!! All this time wasted that they've misled us, and strung us along for two days - I could have actually got service from someone else, but worse - probably won't not until Tuesday?? Who knows?! I hung up on Emily. I feel as though Henco Plumbing just strung us along to buy themselves time. Just avoid all their string-ya-along tactics! ADDENDUM: Here's a funny direct from their own website! We made an appointment days in advance, blocking out our AirBnB, and they stood us up. My husband called them multiple times while he waited at home for them to arrive, and they kept telling him someone would call me back with the ETA. This went on all day, until the end of the day, when a "manager" called him back to tell him no one was coming, and tried to convince him to reschedule for the next day. I called Henco because I had a clogged toilet that we couldn't unclog ourselves. We tried 2 plungers, hot water with dish soap, a 3 ft. auger and lye drain opener, but nothing was opening up the clog of toilet paper. No poop. Just toilet paper. I asked their phone representative if they offered senior discounts and she said "yes". A man representing himself as a "plumber" walked into my house like he owned the place with an assistant and the three of us barely fit in my small bathroom. When my husband told him that the clogged toilet was upstairs, he went to the hall bathroom upstairs, turned on the light and flushed a few times before he finally realized that toilet wasn't clogged. Then he came back out into the hallway, finally saw me and I told him that the toilet that was clogged was in the bedroom, not the hallway. The water level in the bowl was at a normal level. He even took a picture of it. I later learned he also took a picture of the outside of my house, although I don't know why. I found out about that when I later received the invoice via e-mail with pictures of my house and toilet attached. Very strange. Then, without even asking me, he flushed the toilet and the water almost overflowed the bowl. It filled up to a 1/4 of an inch below the top of the toilet before he finally took the lid off and closed the flap to stop the flow of water. It almost overflowed and I told him he shouldn't have done that. He didn't know that there was lye in the bowl and had it overflowed, he would have gotten lye all over my bathroom floor and he would have been the one to clean it up, not me. When I told him he shouldn't have done that he said to me "Who's the plumber here? You or me?" I should have asked him to leave then because he made the situation worse, not better. The bowl was now about to overflow, but I didn't want to be the one to clean up his mess, so I told him he was the plumber and asked him to clean up the mess he created. He said he would after he quoted me almost $400 for fixing the problem he created. I asked him if that included the senior discount and he said they don't offer a senior discount. He and his partner went back downstairs to their truck and came back with a vacuum in a box that suctioned out some of the water and a 6 ft. auger. Why he didn't initially come in with this equipment I will never understand. Just another way to increase his bill. I guess they wait for the customer to say "yes" before they get their equipment. He told his assistant to vacuum out a couple of inches of water bringing the water level back down to within the bowl. Then he inserted the auger, opened the drain and used up about half a roll of my expensive toilet paper flushing it down the toilet. When I asked him why he was doing that, he said to make sure the drain was open. I asked him what the warranty was on his work and he said there wasn't any. He said they only warranty sink and shower drains, not toilets 'cause they clog too easily. So then I told him to stop wasting my toilet paper and that I would pay him. I realize now that he made the situation worse so that it would take longer to fix and he could charge me more and that I wouldn't say "no" now that my toilet was on the verge of overflowing when he gave me that outrageous price of $400 plus tax. Henco doesn't have an hourly wage like other tradesmen. After they left, I noticed that the "plumber" scratched the bottom of my toilet with his auger. A well made auger has a rubber sleeve on it where the tool curves and the rubber part is suppose to rest on the bottom of the toilet so that it doesn't scratch the porcelain. I am now going to have to shut off the water to my toilet, drain the water from the bowl and use a pumice stone, Bar Keeper's Helper or buy a porcelain repair kit for $20 to $30 to try to remove all of the scratch marks from the bottom of the bowl. It looks terrible with the scratches there. This "plumber" just made extra work for me trying to remove these scratches from the bottom of the bowl, but it looks terrible with those scratches. After I got the invoice via e-mail, I called Henco again about the senior discount, the photo of my house and the scratches on the bottom of the bowl, but no manager was available to come to the phone. Since they won't talk to me on the phone, I hope they will read about my experiences here on Yelp and train their "plumbers" better. I don't know if this one Henco "plumber" is representative of the rest of the crew or whether he is just one bad "plumber", but I will never use Henco again if this is the type of rude, inexperienced "plumber" service they provide. This man was not a good "plumber". He was a rude, highway robber. Next time, I'll buy a longer auger and fix the clog myself. Good luck with your plumbing problem but I cannot recommend Henco based on this experience. Too rude, too expensive and they will make the problem worse. Good luck! read more

We had a water leak in our wall from the first floor down to the second. Rod came out and took one look at the situation and knew what the problem was. He had to cut into the existing pipe and found one portion with a crack that became a hole after he removed the pipe because the wall of the pipe was so thin. He showed us the problem after he opened the wall up and went to work. He replaced everything, cleaned up, and was pleasant and helpful the whole time. I called Henco because my air conditioning was blowing hot air. Gentleman came out took a cover off. Check the capacitor and it was good. Closed it up and told me my lines were clogged and it would be expensive to repair. Suggested that I replace my complete air handler and furnace. Which was 16-20,000 dollars. Had another person come out. Check the refrigerant and it was fine. The only problem was a loose wire in my thermostat on the wall would not trust this company ever again. read more

We called Henco to have our hot water heater relocated, and when Aaron came to give us a quote, he explained that we had four different types of pipes and it would be a good idea to replace them. Unfortunately, even though we had a good experience, we would NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! This week we were confronted by a racist employee doing work for a neighbor. When we called the response was "we are aware." The fool employee tries to lie, turn things around and call the police. When all was said and done -he admitted he did write KKK F**K N*****S (real letters not the asterisks) and was crying at our door apologizing (probably only because he was trying to save his new job) by saying he "thought it was funny" some apology!! Sunday, February 26, I noticed my kitchen floors buckling in front of the fridge. I pulled the fridge out and I saw water sitting between the floor and the wall to the pantry. I called my dad and asked if he'd come over and take a look. We ended up shutting off the main water line coming into the house because we couldn't see where the water was coming from. I called Henco Plumbing and asked if someone could come. The guy that answered the phone told me the initial diagnose fee was $129. I said ok. He scheduled the plumber to come out the next morning to assess the issue. Come to find out there was a pinhole leak in the copper valve. Before the plumber fixed the issue he quoted me $1,278 and asked if I would be ok with that price. I, being a single woman not knowing anything about plumbing, kind of shooken up with everything, agreed to the price. I felt I didn't really have any other choice! The plumber was at my house for 1.5 hours to replace a 20" pipe and a valve. He was very nice and professional. A couple days went by, and the shock wore off, I called Henco and questioned the price. I was basically told that it was menu pricing. After talking to some people I know that have been in the industry they told me that price was absolutely absurd and they couldn't believe that I paid that price. So I called Henco and asked to speak to the manager. She told me the pricing was done correctly and there was no room for negotiations. My point for all this is to let you know before calling them that their going to take advantage of you in a desperate situation. This really should have been a $400-$500 job at the high end. read more

Stopped-up drains or other plumbing problems are never fun, but our Henco tech certainly made it as painless as possible. We had called out another plumber for our blocked kitchen drain, they came out but they were unable to clear the drain, they ran into an obstruction at some point in the system and were unable to continue with the resources that they had. I called our management company, who recommended a drain specialist. I called a couple, and Henco was able to make an appointment on the second day after I called. Mark from Henco arrived and, after listening to what had happened previously, very quickly came up with a logical game plan with a couple of options that made sense to me, then he used a camera to explore our condo's drainage system, and took the time to explain to me each decision he made as he went. He boiled it down to two options, one more budget conscious and another more directed toward a comprehensive solution. During the whole process, he was very conscious of protecting the floors/stairs as he moved his equipment in and out, and was confident from the beginning that he could solve our dilemma. He was equipped with any/all of the equipment he needed, and rather quickly had the drain cleared, and then, at his suggestion, he used high-pressure water to completely clear any residue in the drain and advised us on preventative maintenance practices and recommended an enzyme solution to avoid or reduce the problem going forward. He was able to supply that product at a competitive price. A friendly, articulate, and consummate professional throughout our service call. He left no trace of having been here when he left. Spotlessly clean. I suspect Henco may not be the cheapest plumber in town, but they certainly are well prepared for any possibilities that may arise and take the time to involve the customer in the decision-making process. Henco was hired by my contractor to do the rough-in job on a duplex I was remodeling. After my contractor walked off the job (see Wy' East review), my new contractor discovered Henco had improperly installed plumbing and had not completed the rough-in. Although I fought to get it completed correctly, Henco refused, as did their contractor, instead using a lawyer to force payment from me. Henco has been reported to the state regulators who are investigating. They have had their license suspended in the past and I can see why. My new contractor also informed me they dramatically over price the work that they did. read more

Requested repair of simple 1/2 inch copper water line which had frozen during recent cold-aggedon at our Portland house here in SW Hills. The charges were horrendously inflated and no estimate was provided prior to repair. The cost for this simple fix? 1700.oo. The quality of the repair, so far as we can see, was adequate but hardly worth a mortgage payment. The tech was as nice a person as possible and worked quickly and competently and we gave him cookies for his children after the work was completed. The problem is being addressed by the Oregon DOJ with a c/o "price gouging". I believe that this company took advantage of the situation by a ridiculous overcharge [which was not justified by any mention in the "paperwork". My advice? Look elsewhere for repairs and frankly, anything else they offer. Sorry for the length of this. DB read more

So disappointing. I don't know what has happened to this company lately. They used to be my go to plumbers. Not any more. Twice now I have had terrible customer service. The first time I was told I needed my entire plumbing replaced from my well to my house and an estimate would be emailed to me. This was for a small leak in the crawl space and I never received the email estimate any ways. Lazy employee. The second time was when they were scheduled to come out to help with a clogged drainage pipe where water was flooding my driveway, and almost into the garage. First they said they would be here between 12-4, then it was 2-4, then it was "can't make it today" after I waited all day for them and lost my chance to get someone else out. Meanwhile the water is rising. read more
