The food is consistently good and hot. The service is friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure you're happy.

For some reason I never think of small-town Wyoming with a Chinese-food restaurant. In thinking back, I don't remember coming across that many. but maybe I just haven't been looking. In the mood for trying something different, I stopped into Jen's. I didn't pay much attention to it being a buffet-style but decided that was okay -- it would give me the opportunity to try some different things. The buffet was fine, with quite a few choices, but most were heavy on the sauces or fried, and the vegetable dishes were sparse - maybe 1 or 2. What I did try was fine, satisfied a craving, but not necessarily something spectacular. I attribute that to the buffet-style food. The things you typically expect in a Chinese buffet were available: sweet/sour chicken and pork, a beef dish, chicken skewers, noodles, rice, two kinds of soup (the sweet sour soup was pretty good, too). Of the things I did try, the coconut shrimp was the winner. It didn't look like much but ended up being one of the better things despite the heavy sauce. The sesame chicken was also good, and the cream-cheese filled wontons were worth a second trip. Overall, Jen's is fine, plenty of food for a reasonable price and with service that is available, but not intrusive when you need a beverage refill. read more

My husband and I live here in Powell and we always love coming to Jen's Chinatown. We've been to this establishment several times and have always had a pleasant experience. We usually order takeout, but regardless the food is delicious and the portions are HUGE! Inside the restaurant itself is very calm, the environment is peaceful, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend! read more

This is not good. I am sure they have something good but the buffet was cold and the food was stale like it was leftover Chinese from days before. The servers were not at all attentive and the service is what they could have going for them. The ambiance is kinda gross they have painted over the mold in the dining room. Chinatown is a solid buffet style chinese food restaurant. The staff is friendly and the owner is out there busting his tail along with everybody else, which I appreciate. You can also fill up a to-go container if you want take out. It gets really busy in the evenings so make it there before 6PM if you want to beat the rush. read more

Going downhill fast. Do not order the buffet to go - will pay a lot of money and get nothing. The take out containers is VERY small and the portions they will provide are even smaller. The rice is overcooked and the chicken is not properly breaded. Very disappointed. Used to really like Chinatown and when it became Jen's chinatown it was ok but not anymore. The only Chinese food in Powell. This place is the epitome of disappointing. Don't get me wrong, they DO TRY; it just isn't enough . Mundane, greasy, uninteresting food that's appreciated by people that have never had "Big City" Chinese/ Japanese. Same owners (allegedly) as the restaurant in Cody, I'll never venture to find out. Awesome Chinese restaurant in town. The food is always hot and good tasted. (they are a litlle bit greasy in my opinion). There are various choices of food, everything is good, the restaurant is cozy and clean. It is always crowded. The staffs are friendly, the owners are awesome, friendly and kind. Every year, Chinatown's owners participate in many different Northwest College International events with free food and great chinese traditional performance. I knew it because i studied there for a year and a haft. I love all of them. I ate there almost twice a week. You can take out too. The business is so successfull that they have just opened the second Chinese buffet in the next town Cody. I have never tried this one yet, but i think it will be the same with Chinatown. Want terrible food, an awkward experience, and to have your nephew berated by the rude waitress (who I'm told is the owner Jen)? Then come to this awful restaurant. I ONLY LEFT 1 STAR BECAUSE THERE IS NO OPTION FOR NO STARS. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. I would rather s**t in my hands and clap than eat here ever again. And to make matters worse, the waitress very rudely took it upon herself to berate my special needs nephew by demanding "all 4 legs on the ground and sit right" when he had just slid into his chair and was sitting on the corner of the chair. After she forgot our drink order (we literally asked for water and 1 soda). We were in town visiting family for Easter when we decided hey let's go get Chinatown! We were so excited to get some Chinatown. We all lived here in Powell years ago, and it was the best Chinese in the world. Like the kind of good that you crave all your life and everywhere you go. I even worked there for a time after high school as a waitress. The ambiance was amazing, customer service top notch, and the best food I've EVER had. NOT ANY MORE. This place is awful. The food is terrible. The second we walked in we felt instantly uncomfortable and awkward. You don't know where you're supposed to stand or start to let them know what food you want, and the guy dishing up the food was quite rude to my girls. You can't even talk at your table without feeling like everyone in the restaurant is listening in, the place has no music, no ambiance, and a terrible vibe. Every single meat dish tastes the same, is way too salty, and instantly made all of us feel sick. We left our food on the table after a handful of bites (maybe 6 bites between all 5 of us) and the owner couldn't have cared less when we told them we weren't happy and the food was not good. Biggest waste of $65 bucks. They clearly couldn't be bothered to even ask us what was wrong or if they could do anything to make it better, just here is your ridiculously high priced ticket and a painfully delivered Happy Easter? More like a depressing, greasy school cafeteria. What a miserable experience, and one I will never repeat. Is this what restaurants are like here? How hard is it to find decent food in Wyoming? They have a buffet only, with apparently no need for waiters (why are we tipping?), and it feels like a dark, dingy cafeteria, not even a real restaurant, and worst of all. the buffet ensures NOTHING is fresh or made to order. After trying to figure out the hours for this place, I was surprised by the reviews. I lived in Powell for a year and I love the place. The pork is good, the beef is good and most importantly, the wantons are amazing. Sure it might be not "Big City" Chinese, but I'd also like to point out to the reviews below that China Town is located in POWELL, WYOMING! There is NOTHING bad to say about this place or it's staff, they are amazing and their food is fresh, hot and yummy! The staff is always friendly and welcomes you like you are family, they recently opened another store in Cody, Wyoming and that restaurant is even better! The Hostess is professional, prompt, polite and very helpful. They are perfectly priced and do not nickle and dime you if you have small children eating. I am content whenever it is time to pay the bill, because they do not overcharge. Dining is always a wonderful experience at China Town. read more
