Absolutely Highly Recommend! I absolutely highly recommend this place to everyone! That previous…read morenegative review sounds so unreal and fake! Our experience was the complete opposite. Deborah was absolutely wonderful! She greeted us the moment we walked in with such warmth and kindness. I asked her a few questions, and she not only answered them but also gave us tons of great advice on where to find the most scenic views in the area. The store itself is full of unique and cool gifts, truly something for everyone. We picked up some Idaho-made lotions, soaps, and beautiful coasters as gifts. Everything was high quality and thoughtfully curated. Thank you again, Deborah, for making our visit so memorable! -- T & J from Colorado

Horrible. I came into the Velvet Moose about 3 1/2 weeks ago after visiting GTNP looking for a…read moreGrand Teton National Park T-shirt. I forgot to grab one when I was in the park the day before. I asked the lady who was working there (assuming the owner) if she had any, and she took me towards the back of the store and showed me one shirt that had an American flag with a silhouette of the Tetons. I told her I wasn't looking for one with an American flag. She said to me "then you need to leave my store". I knew in an instant that she had made this interaction political when all I wanted was a more NPS-related shirt. My reply to her was "you don't have to be MAGA to love America". As exited the store, the woman followed me out onto the sidewalk yelling at me "leave America!!!" My husband was getting gas across the street from her store and heard her yelling at me but could not understand what she was saying. First of all my grandfather's ancestors arrived in America in the 1600s at Jamestown so I have as much right to be here as she does bc she was obviously NOT INDIGENOUS. I am an American citizen and have no intentions of leaving. Apparently, the store only sells to MAGA/Trump supporters so be aware or shop elsewhere if your political beliefs align differently from the owner. Addendum: The owner's response is a fabrication of the events that occurred that day. Maybe she is embarrassed or attempting to save face in her community for her behavior? Everyone has bad days. She never said anything about the shirt design being her art work not that I care and I certainly did not say that I hated the American Flag or what it represents. That is crazy. She did ask me to leave when I said I did not want a shirt with an American Flag design. FYI, my husband and I own an apparel company and we often use Americana-themed designs in our clothing.

There is a huge selection of fun stuff that if I had more room in my carry on, I might have went hog wild. What didn't help was that I came here in November so there were Christmas things for sale already and I love good Christmas decorations. The store is also fairly large so you can roam and take a look at a lot of different things. There are also quite a few entrances/exits, which seemed odd for shoplifting reasons but I appreciated being able to walk out onto a different side of the street. I will say that stuff was super pricey in here, but if it is mostly hand made by artists, I understand. I also live in an overpriced tourist city, so I understand the mark up. I will say that I thought the staff was a bit aloof. Like they didn't care to answer any questions or make any conversation, or even say hello. That was fine. I like being left alone when I shop anyway. Aloof is fine but rudeness isn't. When we left one of the employees was super rude and slammed the door on us (someone else had left it open and she thought it was us so she said something and slammed the door) so that left a bad taste in my mouth but I will say this store is still pretty cute and I'd come back.
