I felt like I had tried everything and was beginning to resign myself to just pain management, without hope of actually getting better. The approach to talking about my injury was "accessible" to my "western medicine" upbringing. And most importantly: my third visit was like turning the switch off for my pain. I probably had a pinched nerve in my neck, but due to delays seeing a pain specialist through my primary care, I was trying anything. I ultimately was seeing a "western medicine" doctor and Tao to Wellness at the same time. But the timing of my pain shutting off is strongly suggestive that acupuncture played a big part in shortening the duration (which my "western medicine" pain specialist had suggested would be possible). Deanna was my acupuncturist.
