Worst boudin ever... chipped my tooth on a piece of bone in the boudin... the rice was either uncooked or burnt as well...the meat in it tasteless and colorless... I've been wrestling to even make this but whatever this business was at one point it is no more... hogsheads cheese didn't even set it was just a gelatinous pile of inedible muck... only a few items were priced wheee you could see everything else was just off the cuff it seemed... and to spend the amount of money i did and literally could not eat 2/4 items purchased... sweet people terrible execution. I hate having to post this but I can't be go along with just sweeping it under the rug. The only positive thing was the filets... but I got them cut and the were all different sizes nothing uniform about them. I'm sorry but man it was a rough experience.

They have bins of loose dry beans, tamarind, hibiscus, and more you can bag yourself. There are some shelves of pastries in the back by the butcher counter. The butcher is worth noting because it was pretty cheap, or at least the chicken was: drumsticks $0.59/lb, leg quarters on special for $0.49/lb. The meat is not pre-packaged, so if you wanted to buy just one drumstick you could. Spanish seems the primary language - obviously - but they understood my pathetic "cuarto pieces" request. There is also a food counter with some plastic tables set up as a dining area. I didn't see a menu, but I didn't look too hard. Food looked pretty good. Easy enough to get to, shares a sizable parking lot, worth checking out.

They specialize in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine as well as true Southern staples. My favorite meal, and a great value for our family is the 1 pound-gyro box, which is enough to feed my family with four pita sandwiches and extra homemade Taziki sauce. I've tried their fried chicken, gizzards, po-boys & salads - nothing has disappointed. Everything is perfectly seasoned with spices, never dry and leaves you satisfied, portion-wise. Fun Fact: They offer the biggest po-boy in town... 32 inchs!! And my oyster po-boy that fed the office was very reasonably priced. Much less than a neighboring competitors. The owner, Mo, Is very friendly and always has a smile and a kind word his customers. Mo is begging me to try one of his new specials, beef gyro? That will definitely be my next review for this Slidell gem.
