There's is unique because they don't use the breading. That may sound unusual but it's yummy and cuts way back on the carbs. Most items come in 2 different sizes. One more family size and one more fit 1-2 people. You can also buy a lot of items either fresh or frozen. I do think it's important to note that items are not cheap, if you think of it as creating a meal and figure up how many people you feed, it's not much more than you would spend buying something out that's probably not that good. The owner's son is usually there when we drop by and he usually always helpful and nice! The shop is small but full of their homemade dishes as well as a nice variety of local products from artisans. I really appreciate that they support other locals! Drop in and buy something to try. You may decide the quality and convenience is worth the little extra cost!

There are plenty of vegetarian options which is a definite plus and it's not your generic fare. Creative recipes make me so happy and there is plenty to try here. Yes, Tessier is pricey, but I've found you do get quality ingredients. One long pull of melted cheese after you take the macaroni out of the oven shows you the love they put into hand-grating for maximum melt-age. You've just got to watch out and ask about pricing on some things because at times it's not clearly labeled. Stick to the fridges and freezers where the prices are really obvious! The one issue I've had with Tessier is actually related to our first visit. Hubs wanted to grab a bag of croutons to go with his tomato soup. We were informed that the croutons would be discounted because some had been left in the oven for far too long and were very dark. The words used were pretty much "we can't in good conscience sell these for full price." Hey, why not? Discount! He's not too picky. Except after leaving and checking my text receipt (you don't get to see the things being rung up as it's happening) we saw that first of all, the little bag of croutons was a ridiculous FIVE DOLLARS, and our discount on what ended up being half a bag that went to the birds was around forty cents.

This made us feel a little better about moving away from our friends and family in NY and starting a new life here in Covington, LA. We ordered tacos (chorizo, al pastor, lengua, camaron and asada) which were all tasty, full of flavor and perfectly spiced. We also ordered the fajitas poblanos that came with a side of tortillas, rice and beans. The mixed protein platter had a perfect char and was too big for us to finish i one sitting. The meal starts with chips and freshly made salsa. Their drinks are huge and they had a variety of agua frescas including tamarindo, pina and jamaica. The tamarindo was great. Their sauces compliment the meal so well and have the perfect spice. The place is family run and you should definitely go support if you live in town or are stopping by.

They specialize in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine as well as true Southern staples. My favorite meal, and a great value for our family is the 1 pound-gyro box, which is enough to feed my family with four pita sandwiches and extra homemade Taziki sauce. I've tried their fried chicken, gizzards, po-boys & salads - nothing has disappointed. Everything is perfectly seasoned with spices, never dry and leaves you satisfied, portion-wise. Fun Fact: They offer the biggest po-boy in town... 32 inchs!! And my oyster po-boy that fed the office was very reasonably priced. Much less than a neighboring competitors. Super easy to find with plenty of parking on a lot. You can eat in your car or there is a covered area with benches to eat. The truck is blue and sits smack dab in the middle of the lot, so you can't miss it. They do take credit cards/apple pay, so that was a plus! Menu was highly extensive with options with tacos and more - and let me get started with the protein options! I had buche and lengua and your classics of al pastor and asada. The tortillas were nicely toasted and the protein portion was more than filling. Love that everything came out hot and fresh and didn't have any issues. I get worried ordering not your usual proteins, especially at a new place. Prices were fair and highly recommend stopping by if you need to get your tacos fix! Staff were super friendly and patience.
