For almost two years, Karen Brown firmly stuck with me throughout the whole long process of making…read moremy wedding a reality. My husband and I got married on a perfect weekend last April in Brooklyn. The wedding went on without a hitch, and it was better than anything I imagined. Our guests keep saying that it was one of coolest weddings they've ever been to, but judging from that you wouldn't think that there was a long backstory involved to make it happen. Karen is a master in keeping the plan on track, and she coordinated all possibilities no matter what happened the entire time. Something new always seemed to pop up, from an unexpected wedding date and location change, to me suddenly having to move to a completely different city 300 miles away, to ceremony changes, and to us considering starting from scratch to do a city hall wedding midway (which we didn't). AND she seriously saved the day when our photographer couldn't show up at our wedding. Karen Brown's crisis management skills are the sh*t. We would've had to make do with someone's iPhone pics if it weren't for her finding another photographer at the last minute! We couldn't have been more grateful for having her as our planner that day. I thought she took care of that amazingly well: the original photographer called her the night before explaining he couldn't come, and Karen then immediately contacted another photographer, who was thankfully available, and booked her that same night. Karen handled the crisis on her own before she told me on the morning of the wedding so that I didn't have one more thing to worry about. I was completely stressed out in the days leading up to the wedding. If she called me the night before about this I would've lost my mind. So I was engaged for a long time but kept putting off wedding planning since I was always too busy. Karen got me started, making it easier for me by preparing a neat folder of all the info I needed and discussing the big picture. All my husband and I really wanted was a small casual party with good food, and Karen helped us develop a creative concept that fit our budget, which was also small. Being a former interior designer, she knows how to design good-looking events well. In working with her, I felt that she really took the time to really understand us and our needs to give us ideas that spoke to us, using her extensive knowledge of wedding places and people in the NYC area. Karen also had a great way of helping me see answers more clearly when I'm indecisive about things in the process, and that was great since being the decision maker on most everything was pretty stressful. Most importantly for me, since I had so much going on in my life, was that Karen created a personalized month-by-month checklist of what I need to do prior to my wedding date and followed up with me regularly for more than a year to make sure I created a guest list, bought my dress, sent out the save-the-dates, etc. When we were looking around for a venue and vendors, she took time out of her day to come along with us and asked them important questions that I didn't even think of. She also formulated a timeline for the wedding weekend scheduling each happening by the minute and sent it to all the vendors and the wedding party to keep them in the loop. Having everyone on the same page just made everything run much smoother. One of the best things I remember about Karen was that one day she mailed me a letter that was stuffed with exclusive sales at local wedding and accessory shops. She collected these from a recent wedding planner's gathering and thought of me. I was pleasantly surprised and so touched! Not only is Karen the most organized person I know who can be trusted to cover all the bases, she's also very conscientious in everything she does, and she's so pleasant to work with on top of all that. I had quite an exciting adventure with Karen Brown and can't believe we finally pulled it off so nicely! Needless to say, I've recommended her to everyone and will definitely get her on board for my next big party!

This was party on a terrace on the 16th floor, in midtown, and had lots of moving parts to be coordinated. She found us a great caterer;worked closely with our DJ; took care of every detail we could think of (and she thought of many things we never even considered) ..and when the going got tough two days before the event, and rain showed up in the forecast, she managed to get us a tent for the event, which worked out perfectly. All in all Karen was great to work with and our party was a huge success!! Thanks Karen, for taking the responsibilities away from me and allowing me to totally enjoy our party.

I felt very at ease, as she kept the wedding on schedule, and was just an amazing lady overall to work with!!! She even helped me with my wedding dress malfunction (zipper zipped OFF the dress-- seamstress forgot to put a zipper stop)... and pinned me into my dress like a pro!!! I wish we had more money to hire her for the 8 hour package instead of the 5 hour, as soon as she left, you could tell the coordination kinda fell apart ... but it was near the end of the wedding so i guess it was ok !!! lol but she was super awesome, super experienced, and very comforting to work with someone who knew what to do, and didn't react weird to our strange requests! :) I HIGHLY recommended this wedding coordination service. AMAZING experience.

As soon as we decided to use Christine as our wedding planner, we started to enjoy the process a lot more. She is warm, funny, extremely organized, responsive to our emails, and has advice for everything! She was able to help me navigate everything from family politics to deciphering what type of flower I was trying to describe. A few weeks before the wedding, we had a total meltdown over the budget and Christine jumped into action. She calmed us down, helped us understand what happened, and never once made us feel like we were being unreasonable (though, we probably would have deserved it). For our wedding day, we had Tara as our wedding coordinator and we absolutely adored her. She checked in a few days before the wedding and the morning of to see how I was doing and even went out of her way to bring me a copy of the New York Times so we could photograph our wedding announcement. She did a really good job of reminding us not to worry about the small details and just to go with the flow of the day. We had comments from our family and wedding guests that "the people running our event" did a really good job because the day flowed perfectly. I really appreciated her calm and positive energy throughout the day. I have no idea whether anything went wrong on our wedding day because she literally took care of everything. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, we had many vendors tell us, completely unsolicited, that Christine, Tara and the EAP team are the best in the business in NYC. It's one thing for brides to love their wedding planners, but I think that the vendors opinions speak volumes since they see the "behind the scenes" truth. Having the EAP team help you plan your wedding is certainly one of the best decisions any couple can make, no matter where they are in the wedding planning process.

From the cocktail party to the after party, everything was exactly the Manhattan party of our dreams. Planning a party in New York while living in California definitely gave us pause, but Jen was there every step of the way to scout out venues, florists, food, etc. and kept us in the loop whenever we could not be there in person. As party planning amateurs, we relied heavily on Jen for florist, photographer, caterer, hair/makeup, etc. recommendations and she did not disappoint! Jen and her team were amazing on the day of our party, taking care of every detail and allowing us to have the most stress-free and fun day to celebrate with those closest to us - we cannot thank A Taylored Affair, Jen and her team enough for such an unforgettable event!!

She immediately responded, sending me a calendar invite for our first chat (I appreciated that organization!) and I could hear in her voice that she was real, invested, creative and hardworking. And that was just the beginning. We worked together for 7 months or so, she found us our venue, dance teacher later, videographer, ordered us last minute late night wedding pizzas, helped with gift bags, invites, and ON AND ON. She helped us save $ with creative wedding hacks, always responded to a barrier or stumbling block (like vendors being booked or something not quite coming in the way we'd hoped) with a thoughtful solution. She NEVER let us down. Her mind is quick and she truly wants your wedding to be everything YOU want it to be, so you can give her your honest feedback on things you like, things you don't and she bounces along with you to keep cranking it all out while keeping you calm, and subtly giving you hints of what to think about next without EVER making me feel overwhelmed. On a human level, Jen is a star, the kind of person you can tell is a solid friend - she really brings that humanity, the fun, the candor and the humanness to the insanity that can be the wedding industry. It was confirmed that we had chosen the right person when we got to Jamaica 6 months before our wedding and she had set up a perfectly curated list of vendor meetings from thousands of miles away. Throughout the entire process she was organized, thoughtful, attentive and very flexible. She went above and beyond and we definitely could have done it without her. I had a relatively small wedding in the Hamptons and assumed early on that I could figure out most of the details myself. I quickly realized that nothing compares to having experts like them who know how to handle any last minute issue and have wealth of experience working with vendors/venues across NYC. Chelsea had great recommendations for vendors I neglected to look into earlier on in the process and was a huge help in making sure critical details, such as the rain plan, were worked out. Where the team really excels is making sure you do not deal with any stress on the day of the wedding and focus on having fun. I was so impressed with how professional, patient, kind and calming the entire team was. They made sure the bridal parties all were on schedule, vendor setups were done on time, food was set aside for my husband/I during cocktail hour, swapped out my heels when they saw I was in pain and even ran back to the house when we forgot our marriage license. These are just some of the little details the team took care of so we didn't have to worry about anything. They truly are your eyes and ears and it was such a relief knowing they got it handled. They truly love their jobs and their passion for what they do shines. Please do yourself a favor and hire Brilliant Events! I'm recommending them to all my friends for their weddings and events.

Unfortunately the reality didn't line up at all with what reviewers were saying. After we put down the deposit, Rebecca was virtually impossible to get ahold of, each time giving a different excuse (she disappeared for 2 weeks saying she caught a fever then another week saying her phone was in the shop). I had to ask repeatedly for her to deliver the most basic things (confirmation of the latest plan, a run of show timeline, contact my vendors, literally anything) and she never did, often getting upset with me for even asking. Most of my vendors said they didn't hear a word from her til they met her the day of the wedding. So what should have been a seamless process was all over the place. The day of was worse. They didn't play our song as we walked down the aisle, left the ceremony venue a mess (so much so that my wife and I had to return to clean the venue ourselves the next day), messed up our seating chart despite several emails with super clear instructions and dropped the ball on almost everything we asked them to do. You truly get what you pay for here. Unless you like working on your wedding hire a different coordinator.

He set up our decor just as we'd envisioned (and sometimes even better), and at the end of the night packed it up just as carefully. We especially appreciated how attentive he was to our parents and to our guests with dietary restrictions. Whether it was reworking floral arrangements to create an extra boutonniere just before family photos, or enlisting the venue coordinator to repair our cake topper in the middle of the reception when we thought it was beyond saving, we were consistently impressed with Luis's dedication, resourcefulness, and professionalism. Partial Resolution, but Serious Issues Impacted Our Wedding Day…read more We hired Bravo Sound for our wedding on 09/27/25, and unfortunately, the DJ's performance caused significant disruptions during key moments of our ceremony and reception. Specifically: -The DJ (Rob) arrived 2 hours late, delaying the ceremony and reception timeline. -Only 2 out of 3 processional songs we submitted in advance were played. The first song awkwardly looped, and my father walked down the aisle in silence, many guests unaware he walked down at all. -The microphone volume was inadequate and guests could not hear the officiant during the ceremony, even after the officiant asked for the volume to be increased. -Due to the delay, our ceremony ended in darkness, including the vows and our first kiss. -The DJ did not play the correct timestamp for the father/daughter dance. -Unapproved background music was played. -The cake-cutting song was triggered prematurely. After raising these concerns with the vendor, they offered a partial refund of $500. While I appreciate this effort to address the problems, the issues significantly impacted what was meant to be one of the most important days of our lives. I hope this review helps other couples make an informed decision. If you do choose this vendor, be sure to confirm ALL details well in advance and stay vigilant on the day of your event.
