My mom came in for state inspection and was told the car would be rejected for a tear in the rear windshield wiper. She was surprised because it was just recently replaced. When she asked to see the damaged wiper, she was told it was actually a missing clip that was the issue. I feel she was taken advantage of and there was never any issue at all with the wiper. Jenkins has broken trust and we will not be back for future service or purchases. read more

Sold me a car with "faulty" breaks. Car had a warranty on it from the dealer. Went in for a state inspection and got rejected because the breaks were bad. I work from home so this car has been driven very rarely. Keep in mind, this is a brand new, off the lot car. Trying to charge $800 for that. Update, breaks aren't faulty! If I could give no stars, I would. YOU SHOULD read my entire review to see what kind of sneaky shenanigans this dealership pulls. Jenkins Subaru called us and told us one of our cars had some recalls. We didn't buy it from them, but none the less, we made an appointment and because it was going to be there, we decided to get an oil change and an inspection. Guy who made the appointment said it would take 3-4 hours when you add the inspection and oil change to the recalls. Cool. He made the appointment for Saturday at Noon. They close at 5 PM everything should be good. Right? Dropped off the Car, and an hour later we we get a call...They want to sell us a "Newer" used vehicle and "We are eligible for special financing." We say No thanks. I mean, our car is fine and it has plenty of life left in it. Hang up the phone. 30 minutes later, we get another call. "Sir, your car needs a new exhaust system and a couple other things.... Your Exhaust pipe is split open." Okay, How much? "$1000+". THIS WAS MIND BOGGLING. The car didn't drive or sound differently and we had taken it in to get some suspension work not too long ago. So, if something was wrong with the exhaust, we surely would have been told by the mechanic or heard the problem. We cautiously say "No, thanks". Suddenly it's going to take 3 more days to do the Recall work and oil change. We were immediately concerned and for the fear of our car, we decide to be nice until they are done. We pick up the car three days later, and immediately take it to our local Mechanic, where we normally take it, to let them fix the exhaust Jenkins Subaru said needed replaced for OVER $1000. Next day, we get a call from our local Mechanic. Our car is done. There. was a pinhole. in the exhaust pipe. A PINHOLE. $90. with inspection to fix at our honest. hometown Mechanic. So, they fished us to sell us a car with recalls. When that didn't work, they tried to milk us for unneeded repairs in an inspection. Didn't work, then moved us off of our appointment when they found out we weren't stupid. Here is the deal. A Subaru is Good car. JENKINS SUBARU is everything bad about car dealerships. Absolutely avoid this place, even if you have to drive to another state to get you car fixed. I hope all Subaru dealerships aren't like this. read more

Buyers Beware - Went in for a simple Oil change which cost $89 and they told me I needed a cabin filter, never mentioned the price to me. When checking out they charged $30 for the cabin filter and $24 to install it - WOW ! Service man at the checkout desk was super rude ! I had a coupon but because I did not present it up front when I arrived he would not honor it, showing me a small very low to the ground sign saying must present coupons on arrival. Simple oil change should not be so frustrating - Buyers BEWARE ! read more

This service depth has horrible service. My daughter left her Subaru there all day today to get the air conditioner fixed and went back after work to pick it up and they had not touched her car. They said they had a question about it and were to busy to call her. She was so upset and we are going somewhere else to fix it. Maybe they don't have customer service here. I seem to find myself here buying a new car more frequently than I ought to be. Really it's a typical dealership. They seem to treat you fair enough and the process to buy a car isn't totally excruciating. I've traded in two Subaru's and they managed to stay within my parameters when it comes to the cost of trade in and purchasing of the next car. Oil changes and maintenance can take a while but that's because they tend to have a lot of people waiting to have their cars serviced. I do like that they've beautified the service waiting area and provided free snacks. read more

I just purchased my third Subaru; my first from this dealership. It will most definitely be my last. While they offered a fair purchase price, the extremely poor customer service was not worth it in the long run. Both the sales rep and finance person showed a lack of basic knowledge of the purchasing process when I asked any questions. The ability to offer a beverage and an apology is not my idea of customer service. The sales rep was lacking in any basic customer service skills and had no idea how to deal with people or resolve a problem. I left the dealership angry and unhappy, with no plan to ever return. Although the purchase price was fair, I left feeling I had been cheated and taken advantage of due to the lack of experience of the staff and them being unprepared to complete the sale accurately. I was there over 3 hours completing paperwork that should have taken about an hour. I do not recommend dealing with these people. read more

I purchased a used Ford over the weekend and was very pleased with the whole process. Salesman was very attentive to my needs and there was no haggle back and forth to the manager to close the deal. They came in at a good price right away and the deal was done in less than 2 hours. Never closed on a car in that short of a time before. Normal is 4 to 5 hours. Don't know about service yet but sure like the looks of service area, and will try it out when the time comes for first service. read more

I will never be back - horrible service!! I took my car in because it repeatedly would not start. The first time they said my battery was fine, no issues. The next day it would not start so I took it back. For the next day, the said it still wasn't the battery and something was pulling power from the battery, but at that time they couldn't determine was it was and wanted to keep it for another day. They said again it was not the battery and the battery was good (after all it was only 2 years old). The next day and $400 into 'labor costs,' they said I needed a new battery. I basically paid $500 for a new battery that I could have bought at AutoZone and put in myself. They are awful. read more

We recently purchased a new Forester (or 2nd vehicle in 2 years from Jenkins) and traded in another vehicle. Our trade in was an out of state car and there's apparently a $750 fee for that which was never mentioned to us and did not show up anywhere on our SIGNED sales contract. Fast forward a month and my husband gets a call from their finance person wanting another $750 to register the vehicle. I called and left a message which was NEVER returned. I mailed the check for the $750 with a letter advising we would not be doing business with them again. Demanding money after signing a contract is shady, to say the least. Not returning phone calls, owning up to mistakes or apologizing is just bad business. Paints a very clear picture of the value Jenkins Subaru has for their customers. So, let this be a warning to you if you choose to do business with Jenkins Subaru. Proof read everything and know all the details before you go in. DO NOT ASSUME THAT YOUR FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS ARE CORRECT. read more

Not a good place to have your Subaru serviced. Called dealer about setting up a time to get an airbag recall issued resolved. Set up an appointed. Went there at appointment time and discovered they had given the part to someone else. Set up another appointment. They called and cancelled it. This went on for a full year - back and forth. Finally they said they had the part. I Called the day before the appointment to make sure all was OK. The service guy got angry - with me - for calling to confirm they had the parts! (True story.) When I got there he confronted me in a belligerent way. The place has serious issues. read more

Jenkins SUBARU OF Bridgeport is absolutely the worst dealership I have ever tried to do business with, they will tell you only what you want to hear and then try to basically scam you into purchasing a warranty or something that was never discussed, at least this is what they done to me. It started with the salesman and I agreeing on a price, everything was good, I gave consent to find a lender, the salesman said your expected payment will be between this and this if you put this down, I agreed, I was putting over 50% of car value down, I don't have the best credit so I was trying to ensure I would get financed and plus it saves me money in the end, but anyways he says we got the loan approved, this happened quickly, he then sent me to finance manager, this is where it went down hill, the finance manager says good news/bad news, you are approved but interest is this and your monthly payment is now double from what me and the salesman spoke on, I know that the dealership can't be held accountable for my bad credit or my high interest rates but what they can do is just be honest, the finance manager never gave me a hard copy or an actual printout of the actual finances of the deal, it was getting late in afternoon on Saturday so we agreed to finish and sign Monday morning, so I started crunching numbers and nothing was adding up on the monthly payment with the interest and 8000 dollar down payment, the car was listed at 13,900; i started figuring the monthly payment for 40 months, so I called the salesman he said we will figure it out Monday morning, so Monday came and I talked to finance guy and started asking questions and he just would never give me a straight answer, well I finally figured it out! The finance manager added a 3500 dollar warranty that was never discussed, I have no idea why they done this, they only told me about the remaining warranty that was a factory warranty. So I get this info and they then say you didn't get approved for the loan, so they were trying to get a loan for me that was actually 4000 dollars more than I agreed upon, I find this to be dirty dealing, they lied to me, manipulated me , I understand I have the bad credit so I'm vulnerable high interest rates but I shouldn't be lied to and tricked. So just watch them at Jenkins , I'm sure they are not all bad but they def have some bad there. read more

Worst car dealership I have ever been to for either repairs or to purchase a new car. I received a quote for a new outback from a truecar dealership in Pittsburgh and took the quote to Jenkins thinking maybe they would match it and save me a drive to Pittsburgh. First, the salesman tells me that truecar is illegal in WV! Second, he tries to sell me an older car with half of the options I wanted for $3,000 more. What a deal! Needless to say I ended up driving to Pittsburgh. I more recently took an older subaru to their service area when my check engine light came on. They quoted me a price and ordered the part. Then when I returned to have the work done they told me it would cost $150 more than the quoted price. It gets better. When I dropped the car off for the original repair I told them to do a state inspection. They said I needed to have $1600 of repairs before the car would pass inspection. I said no thanks and took the car to my local garage where the car passed inspection and they charged me a total of $15 for the inspection. It is sad to see West Virginians taking advantage of other West Virginians because they think they are the only game in town. read more

Our daughter's car broke down because of a bad alternator on a Sunday while we were on vacation. AAA towed the car here because this was the closest dealer. Jenkins didn't bother to look at the car until Tuesday. Then they confirmed that the problem was an alternator, but claimed that they would not accept our warranty which was purchased from the car dealer. We confirmed with our dealer that the warranty is valid. Jenkins refused to call the warranty company to get their credit card to pay for the warranty. Lazy in addition to incompetent. read more

Service is horrible bought a 2013 legacy with 20,000 miles used 1 3/4 quarts of oil in the first 2,000 miles oil light came on service dept checked it out and there's nothing wrong with it according to them !!!! BS read more
