I had a pinhole leak develop in a pipe and to get at the pipe the plumbers had to cut a hole in my…read morekitchen ceiling. My insurance used Clean Slate to repair the hole in the ceiling. The actual work performed by the two workers was good. Dealing with the back office was atrocious. TLDR: Tried to perform unnecessary work, Repeatedly failed to come when scheduled, Seems like there is no internal communication. My pipe leaked in early August and it was finally finished in late October. Would not recommend CSS. Here's what happened for me: -Sent an appraiser to estimate the job for my insurance. Never sent me the estimate. Eventually got it through my insurance -Sent a project manager out to "walk me through the process" when they arrived they explained that they "hadn't actually read the estimate only skimmed it and were here to look for things the appraiser missed" proceeded to tell me they would try to get insurance to pay for new floors. Which was completely unnecessary. -CSS called and said they would start on one date, and I told them that I didn't want my floors or walls or anything other than the ceiling worked on, they said okay not a problem. - The start date came and they didn't show up, called 2 days later on Friday and said they'd start the following week on Thursday, didn't seem to have any record of the other start date. -Called Monday and said 1 of the sub-contractors wanted to start on Wednesday. -They came Wednesday, and a different project manager stopped by they were still planning to take my kitchen apart and redo my floors, told them again that I only wanted the hole patched and painted, The crew that came nearly completed the job, just had to wait a day for the mud to dry. Said they would be back Thursday or Friday to finish. I was hopeful that since they were already scheduled to be there Thursday that they would finish up the following day. -Thursday, called and said they would be there Friday. -Friday, called and said they would be there Monday. -Monday, called and said they would be there Tuesday. At this point I had had enough. I'd rearranged my schedule repeatedly on short notice to accommodate them and that if they didn't come on Tuesday that I'd fire them from the project. -Tuesday, called and said they heard the job was completed. Told them no I was still waiting for the crew to sand and paint and they were due today. PM said he'd call the crew, called me back and said they'd be here shortly. They came and finally completed the work -Called the following day to schedule paperwork. Set to come the next day at noon. -New person called and said they can do this electronically, I sign and return all forms electronically. -PM calls the following day and says they want to know if I can sign the forms electronically. inform him I've already completed all forms with his colleague.

I hired them to redo my kitchen after we had a leak. They did great up until the tear out was done…read moreand then my PM left the company. The person who took over essentially ghosted me and the office secretary kept giving me excuses. They swore up and down that this was a covered insurance claim but could never give me an update on status. I ended up firing them after 5 month of limited communication and inaction. I hope they do better for the next customer.
