They were both very polite. Two months ago I'd gotten some verbal (non-binding) estimates on the washer machine shutoff from independent plumbers. The price from Ray The Plumber's crew was slightly lower than I expected, and did not involve soldering. I reached out to Jim about replacing a cracked 5-year-old resin tub and sent multiple photos, details, and even confirmed with the manufacturer that the drain didn't need replacing. I was quoted $1,500 unless something unexpected came up. When Jim and his assistant arrived, they immediately said they couldn't lift the tub due to back issues and it's too heavy. I ended up calling my landscaper, who brought guys over to handle all the heavy lifting--removing the old tub and bringing in the new one. While waiting (for two hours), they sat in my driveway on the phone, smoking and asking me questions about the original installation that any professional should know or assess themselves. It felt very unprofessional. Once the tub was in place (thanks to the guys I hired), Jim essentially just connected the drain with a twist and had his assistant apply silicone--then charged me the full $1,500. I also had to prep the area myself and even clean the tub at the end because he didn't want to "mess it up." They also admitted they'd never worked with this type of tub before, which is something I absolutely should have been told upfront. In the end, I paid full price to Clearway, plus the additional cost for the people who actually did most of the work. I felt uncomfortable, pressured, and honestly ripped off. I would not recommend them.

We had a very shaky toilet that another plumber "fixed" 5 months prior. Mike got down to the bottom of the problem and gave me updates on what he was finding every step of the way. There were some major issues that needed to be fixed and Mike did not take any shortcuts, he was very transparent from start to finish. Our flange was rotted and Mike removed the broken flange put in a new flange set in concrete. He put in a new toilet and sealed it with silicone. We were charged $145 and hour + the price of supplies. It was worth every cent to know that everything was done properly this time around.
