I've been to this shop once before and I went again today out of curiosity and just checking it out and maybe thought I could find a leather choker. While browsing I thought "oh yes I've been looking for some books on this specific topic". The person who was helping me came out after a few minutes of me waiting, and I told her about what I was looking for. I had two books in my hand and they were really tiny and had no price on them so when she told me the price of them, I'm not gonna lie, I just wasn't willing to pay it. So I told her I'm gonna keep researching and finding more things online since I'm still a beginner to the topic. She did give me a good resource and really recommended one of the books but I still wasn't convinced to buy the book (it wasn't her fault obviously) The problem is not with that, but how after I told her that I will keep researching, she gave me a look and was like "ooookaayy" and literally ignored me after I told her to have a nice day. I love Jellywink. Having lived in cities with amazing indie, women friendly sex toy shops before, the lack of one in Tucson was always a glaring hole. I'm so happy this has finally been remedied by a cute, welcoming, and well stocked shop right off of 4th Ave. It's pretty small, but it's amazing how well they have managed to have pretty much anything I'd look for. I've been to much bigger stores with less diversity and range of selection. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. She talked me through a few toys I hadn't seen before, and then left me alone instead of hovering over me while I browsed. I found a few things I wanted right away, and saw a couple of other that I'm thinking about going back for soon. I've already sent a couple of friends over to check it out and I'm hoping to make it over to one of the workshops they put on. I walked in on a whim, they had a sign outside and I didn't realize there was a new store down the street. I am so psyched that I walked in, great experience. This is an adult store (not creepy looking at all) but unlike fascinations and other main stream adult stores, this one caters more to the kinkier and non-heteronormative persons (not that they don't have any toys or books for straight vanilla couples). Their book selection ranges from Ethical Slut to Color in the Sex Positions. Toys such as the typical dildos to violet wand starter kits. I went here before Thanksgiving to get a packer. The packer I received was sticking to the wrapper and the person behind the register was uninformed. She actually allowed me to take it out and check it out because I was nervous about the fact that the texture was extremely abnormally sticky and didn't look like the display. She then told me she couldn't resale it. It was only $25 bucks so I figured what the hell. I was kind of bummed because I worked up so much courage to finally purchase one and wanted to support my local business instead of purchasing online. The service was pretty upsetting (just lack of friendliness and information really.) In her defense she said she was new. I have been here plenty of times before and had great experiences. Over the holiday the packer literally was peeling apart, I couldn't even wear it because I didn't feel like it was safe to. It was kind of like one of those sticky hands you get from the quarter machine and have played with it for too long. I tried everything to keep it intact (i.e. corn starch) and it just started falling apart. I went back when I got into town, and explained my experience. The owner basically gave a quick sorry and we started looking at more expensive packers. It wasn't her fault she didn't design it, but I expected a tad more empathy. She then proceeded to sell me the pierre packer hazelnut. I am more of chocolate kind of guy and I questioned why it was so light. She said it was because they hand poured it and that she was sure it was chocolate. Popped online this morning, after purchasing it and of course hand poured or not people with dark skin can purchase chocolate pierre packers that are not three shades lighter than themselves.
