I love that they specialize in post-mastectomy lingerie, but nothing can really excuse the way my mom and I were treated when we came in here a few weeks ago. Staying in the hotel across the street, we had a couple of hours before dinner and stopped in to look for peignoirs. My wedding isn't until August, so it was a very casual stopping-in, mostly just to see what they had. Apparently this kind of casual shopping is unacceptable. We walked in and when we were asked what we were looking for, we said we were looking for a peignoir but mostly just had some extra time and felt like stopping in. The woman working there said, "What a luxury! Do neither of you work? I just can't imagine what that's like! Don't you have something you need to be doing? Most people these days don't just have 'spare time' to 'kill'!" On and on, until we felt so uncomfortable we had to leave! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of merchandise. I thought it was just for older ladies but it is not. I found some really nice lacey bras at regular price and also some nice clearance ones at 14.99. I also was sized and the proper size makes your clothes look better and my back feels better as well. I only go there once a year, but I always stock up when I go because they can always fit me. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and have always been able to help me with the perfect fit. There's nothing that can ruin a day more quickly than a bad fitting bra. I love that I can get a good quality bra with proper fit for a price that doesn't set me back a whole paycheck. The variety of styles means they can fit any shape. I highly recommend them. I am an in between band size with larger sized breasts. V Secret and others just don't cut it for me. Makes it hard for me to find bras that I feel pretty in. The lady who measured and fit me took the time to personalize my bra search and make sure I found the bra that I needed (or three! whoops!) But seriously they are the three best bras that I have ever owned. I will take a star off for the service by the check out lady. I have been in this store twice now (and will be many more times to come!) and both times we have been treated like friends. We were measured the first time and bras were suggested for my daughter and myself that we mght like. Many bras later (we're picky - and endowed!), we had the perfect bras. Went back the second time to get more of the same bras. The women who work there are personable and helpful and made us feel like valuable customers that they are glad to see and hope to see back. The bras are really good and you can't get customer service like this anywhere anymore. I highly recommend them! I was excited to find out Tucson has a small business for undergarments (silly me, it's Tucson, we have a small business for everything!) with the bonus that it carries unusual sizes, so I stopped in this weekend. The sales lady offered to do a fitting and with her help - she was super friendly and attentive - I learned I've been wearing the wrong size and found something for working out and for every day in the correct size. If you're an odd size like me, I would definitely start here and see if it works - the selection isn't enormous, but it works. Julia helped me for an hour, tirelessly bringing bras into the fitting room for me - changing details & adjusting the straps, etc etc - who knew it would be so complicated to find a comfortable bra? They offer true & REAL customer service: to not only find what a customer wants, but to anticipate what she needs. I thought sizes were all the same. Left to my own devices, I wouldn't have tried on half of what she brought me. I've felt self-conscious trying on intimate apparel & asking for feedback on fit in the past, not so here. I was comfortable through the whole process, and bought bras I'm actually excited to wear! I took a little trip to Alice-Rae today. The ladies there are so nice. They don't try to up-sale you (or stuff you into a bra that doesn't actually fit properly) so that's really nice. I purchased one nursing bra. My little is due next Friday! I'm taking the two that I got from Motherhood back. I don't think they fit correctly and after trying (and buying) the one from Alice-Rae, I now know that nursing bras can be comfy. I have really big breasts (and my milk hasn't come in yet, I don't think) so comfort is a really big deal to me...as well as fit. read more

I took my daughter for a fitting so she would have a bra that fit well. The woman who served us was hired by the original owner and has been there for ever since. She measured my daughter and then brought several bras for her to try. Every one of them fit her beautifully and she marveled at how a good fitting bra was so comfortable. While my daughter was trying on bras I browsed and picked up a sweet winter nightgown on deep clearance, found a fabulous sun hat that rolls up and snaps for storage, and even a clip on led light for my dog leftover from Valentine's day gifts. I also purchased a zippered washing pouch for my daughter to wash her bras in so they will last a long time. We had a fabulous experience. read more

I Stopped into Alice-Rae because it's centrally located and a boutique type shop instead of a larger chain store....I was looking for a longline bra for an upcoming party...I wasn't sure of my size because I've recently lost over 60lbs and haven't bothered to be measured .....when I walked in, a saleswoman immediately greeted me and asked if she could help me find something ...I let her know what I was looking for and the issue with not knowing my current size....she measured me and helped me try on a couple of different styles ....apparently I'm inbetween sizes right now- but they do alterations ! For the most part, I try to avoid specialty bra/lingerie stores, because like most of you, they usually result in high dollar items. My experience has always been similar to the movie Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts, where Roberts' character walks into a high end store on rodeo drive and is "looked down upon" and "judged" because the assumption is she doesn't have the money to be shopping there! Yesterday, I decided to pop in at Alice Rae Lingerie in Tucson to "get a feel for the place". I must say my first impression was a good one. The store was neat, clean and tidy. The associates were not just sitting around with bored looks on their faces but actually smiling and made me feel welcomed as they greeted me upon entering. I only had half an hour to work with and dreaded starting my "story" in fear that I would get some pushback and scoffs at the quite specific things I was inquiring about. To me it felt as if I was walking into a store and asking them to make me a custom couture product that doesn't even exist! BUT... I was met with inquiry and compassion and helpfulness that was totally unexpected! I explained my situation and tried on a few items. Then left and said I'd be back tomorrow! I felt good about getting my point across about what my needs were and felt even better that it seemed to be recieved well. However, I thought for sure it was not going to be the same scenario the next day... I returned Today 10/2/2019 to meet the bright eyed, smiling Stephanie, who even remembered my name! I have to say my afternoon went from apprehension to absolute pleasure while Stephanie worked with me, one on one, for over 2 hours!!! Explaining her ideas she had thought of overnight and giving me the best opinions I've EVER had in any type of a bra fitting kind of situation. I must say that having a rare disorder/disability is hard most days. The kindness, empathy, understanding (or effort to understand) and compassion given by strangers makes the bad days tolerable. The amount of time, energy and effort that Stephanie showed me today is what true customer service is all about! She exemplifies what it means to have skill, knowledge, finesse and an ease about her that made me comfortable right away. I made my purchases and before leaving we hugged! I felt satisfied, accommodated and loved. I will be returning to make all of my purchases I the near future. I would recommend anyone looking for a "normal" good quality bra or the opposite end of the spectrum stop by ALICE RAE LINGERIE for your needs! read more

Without getting too personal I will say that I finally found what I was looking for.... and it fits! ;) The selection is decent and they don't have a problem ordering what your looking for. I love this store's selections and quality bras. I find the perfect stylish bras with the help of the helpful staff. The women that work here are more than willing to put all efforts forth in meeting your needs. If your an full breasted or irregular sized woman (example in between 32G or 34F) and you want quality and style this boutique is a must stop. If you need post mastectomy things in Tucson it seems like there are two main choices, Hanger Prosthetics, and Aice Rae. First time around my GP referred me to Hanger. What an unpleasant experience I had working with someone who might as easily have been fitting a man's leg. My conclusion was that Hanger has a "one size fits all"type approach to prosthetics. Hanger is a big national corporation. Going to Alice Rae was a breath of fresh air! A knowledgeable woman who was discrete, and helpful with information I needed to learn, waited on me, and made the whole experience as different from the Hanger ordeal as day from night. Their service was personalized, friendly, and low pressure. This is a local business that perform a big service to the Tucson community, and it truly merits our support. read more

I have shopped at Alice Rae's a couple of times now. I have dealt with several of the saleswomen and I have found them all to be very knowledgeable. They also carry my size! And if they don't have it in stock they will order it though it takes awhile to receive it. The saleswomen will make sure that you get a good fit for which I am very grateful. read more

As I left the shop the owner said, "Alice-Rae saves the day!" That minimized what she did for us! Alice-Rae saved the wedding. The evening before my niece's wedding, she slipped on her dress one more time and discovered the bra that had been ordered with the dress was 4 inches too high or tall in the back. It was showing through the lace on her dress. She explained the problem, walked into the rehearsal dinner, and handed me the corset that would just not do the job. I am her aunt and live about 1000 miles from her wedding site. My sister and I went back to the hotel and started calling bridal shops. We were not having ANY luck finding something the correct size. One shop mentioned Alice-Rae's. They were closed for the day, but I left a message requesting a call the next morning when they opened. One minute, literally, after their store hours began, I received a call and was told to come over to see what they could do. My niece had marked the offensive corset, showing how much shorter the item needed to be. The owner and seamstress did some serious evaluating, found a corset, added an extension of hooks and eyes to give my bride a little more option on how tight she wanted to wear it! They also told me that if it did not work, I could return the bra for the full amount I had paid even though they had made an alteration. I never had such respectful and enthusiastic help at any store. Needless to say, the bride was beautiful, no undergarments were showing, and things went perfectly for the rest of the event. At 10:15, I was at Alice-Rae's, at 4:15 p.m. on the same day, my niece walked down the aisle radiantly. Thank you! read more

I used to go to Comenci for my Mastectomy Bras. Always got lots of personal attention and they had a huge selection. Unfortunately she sold the buisness. I found Alice Rae, went there, after I entered the store nobody greeted me, there was just one customer there and one person working. After about 10 Minutes the woman working there ask me if I needed help. I ask for Mastectomy Bras and to be messured, since my bra size changes all the time. Her answer was, she doesn't need to messure me, we can just use my old bra size. I got a little annoyed by the answer. The Mastectomy bras are in a drawer hidden away and they had 3 different styles, but none in my size. Very little selection. The Lady who was supposed to "help" me, disappeared all the time, did not care if I found the right bra or size. Another Lady, I believe the owner showed up, I ask her if they can order the bras for me, she said it will take 3 to 4 weeks. I called after 4 weeks, left a message twice, they never bothered calling me back. Third call I got a human and was told maybe the order will show up in a week. I waited another week, called and she said my order came in and they left a message on my phone. Never got the message, they wrote the wrong phone number down and spelled my last name wrong. Well, I will certainly not go back to this store and do my buisness somewhere else. read more

I mostly go there for post-mastectomy bras. The first time I was there about 2 years ago shortly after my double mastectomy, they were amazingly considerate and professional in the fitting of me for the prostheses and bras. It is not an easy thing to go through, but they are super sensitive when working with a person who needs this service. I recommend it to anybody having to go through this. So far all my bra's have been covered by my insurance and the prostheses are covered every 2 years. It is a full service salon and they have many beautiful things there from jewelry on up to lingerie and even some clothes. Great for new brides, also. read more

I agree with Allison M. I went to Alice Rae for the first time after my double mastectomy 3 years ago. The woman that you are referring to sounds like the same one that assisted me. She pulled the bra so tight, it hurt, she said, "the swelling will go down & you need it tight to hold the prosthesis". Well, I wear Coobie bras & they are not too tight. I went in recently & was treated the same way by that person. She needs to be reported. Who would treat someone that way when they have had cancer & you're in the business? She seems like a very bitter person. Sad for her, but she made it a painful experience for me after having had my breasts removed. read more
