DO NOT TAKE YOUR WRIST WATCH TO HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED. My watch keep perfect time before the battery died. I went to Jeff's Jewelry looking for a Tungsten Carbide ring to surprise my boyfriend with on his birthday. Claudia was amazing.. so friendly & patient!! She helped me look through all the gorgeous options they had, and we eventually chose one that I thought would be close to his size. She educated me about the type of metal and how it could not be resized, but said I could exchange it for another within 2 weeks if it didn't fit quite right. It turned out to be just a smidge too big, so I came back in with my boyfriend & we were able to exchange it without any issues what-so-ever, and we found him the perfect ring with the perfect fit!! They advertise a one free ring cleaning here. I never saw that until just now on yelp. I have an heirloom 2 carat diamond ring that was my mother's. She passed years ago. I married this last year and wanted to give it to my wife. I called and asked if they could clean it up and give me a box to give it to her for Christmas and resize it for her after Christmas. They told me it would $50 just to clean it. I asked if that was the case even if they were resizing it. They have to clean it to resize it! My wife has a custom engagement ring I had made some years ago off of Richmond Avenue. No stock bands will fit this ring, something I did not take into consideration when I had the ring made. Also, not being a rich man, the ring was Rhodium Plated 10K gold which did not hold up well after 5yrs of continuous wear. Walked in and spoke to one of the great sales associates, couldn't make a decision so we left. Came back a few hours later and had decided that custom was the only way I would get what I wanted. Jeff is a genuine pleasure to work with He cares about what you think and what you want, He took the time to understand the Ideas rattling around in my head and help me understand what was doable and how it would look as a finished product. I had a ring for 15 years that was given to me by my ex-husband when we were young, broke, and about to get married. I kept it after our divorce in a safe place. Luckily, we were able to raise our only daughter together amicably & even had a great friendship during the 8 years or she was blessed to have her "best buddy" in her daily life. Longer story short he got extremely sick suddenly & her best buddy is gone. I gave her the ring; probably worth $20 at best, but to her worth the moon. She wore it on her index finger everyday. One day she brought it to me in tears. The bottom of the ring had worn off until it separated and began pinching her finger. Now there was a bad cut on that finger. She asked if there was anything I could do. I asked many people I knew who welded; people who might be able to push the edges together (temporary fix - and it could break all together- cheap ring); tape?; no...it was too special. So I gathered all the gold I had; little necklaces, chains to the necklaces, earrings, I didn't have much. Took it to Jeff's. An amazing lady (knew nothing of the story) at the counter looked at the ring - then said, "Ok, let me have our appraiser/gold worker look at the gold and the ring" came back, "$100 for your gold and $200 too fix the ring with your gold." So it would cost me a little over $100. Done! It would be ready in 2 months. In those two months I lost my job, was attacked, put in hospital. I have had to apply for disability and the process has just begun in healing from the attack. I can't say more about that. Jeff Jeweler policy is after 6 months repaired items will be their property. My daughter, knowing all that has happened - and has gone through more as well - mentioned the ring as if she knew it was gone; trying not to seem sad. I called Jeff's. IT IS STILL THERE! I can't afford to pay all at once right now but will go today and give them $ ASAP and all my gratitude. They have no idea what they have done. We are ok. And will be ok. Minor bump in the road that we will come back from and by no means a hard-luck story but for my girl and a Dad who did have it rough, you unknowingly did a very kind thing. Thank you!! Not happy about their return policy. My husband bought me a pair of earrings that I already have and I could not return them, I could exchange them, but that's it...I wish I would have known that he is all business... I have purchased diamond rings from him I have had a diamond ring designed from him, I thought he was going to be my go to jeweler, like I had when I lived in sugarland. I put wedding band I previously purchased from Jeff's several years ago on consignment there. I thought the fees we agreed on were only due if the ring sold so I questioned the girl when she told me what was due. She went to the back to get someone else...meantime I read the agreement I had signed and in fact she was right. The man who came out had a chip on his shoulder when he walked through the door. He was rude argumentative and offered no explanation of anything. I received a crappy little lint covered black box instead of the original I brought it back in and they even charged me taxes on nothing but a service. Finally on the way out the door..the new door which they have to buzz you in and out, my girlfriend and I had to push it four times before we got through each door, maybe it's slow or maybe he was just being an axx?
