Vlad here with another downtown Wake Forest eatery review!…read more White Story Cafe is on the corner of South White & East Wait Streets, sharing a bright, airy space with The Burger Shop, a separate eatery I will review in coming weeks. (For those of you familiar with the area, another eatery called The Lemon Tree used to occupy this space.) Women-owned, White Story offers fresh takes on standard cafe items - paninis, sandwiches, salad, soups and a variety of breakfast options. (See menu pics for more details and pricing). In the very relaxing ambience with bright and cozy seating, we enjoyed excellent service from Apple, one of the owners. Paul and I both had the Morning Waffle Special: a tender tasty waffle with a deliciously crispy crust, topped with a fresh egg as you like it, crispy smoked bacon and fresh avocado slices - let's just say both our plates were clean! The sweet Thai tea was fresh and paired perfectly with our meals. The hours are varied, check the website (or menu pic) and prepare to enjoy light and refreshing fare in a welcoming space - leisurely catching up with friends over the fresh-baked treats and coffee or noshing with a current read. Y'all know me now - I like the smaller, intimate places off the beaten path yet close to everything - this place is a gem for you to try!

Great addition to downtown Wake Forest food scene…read more This spot shares dining space with the Burger Shoppe on S. White St. Order at the counter, the food is served to your table. It's a fairly extensive menu for breakfast. Time from order to service about 10 minutes. Food is good! Tried chicken and waffle. It's a plate-sized waffle, freshly made, topped with breaded chicken. Chicken is tender but a little dry. Nothing that a nice helping of maple syrup didn't fix. Also tried the morning waffle special. This is a waffle, topped with an egg, bacon and avocado slices. Served piping hot, freshly cooked and a sizable portion. Always good to have more quality dining choices in town. I'll be back!

Hartura is one of Wake Forest's gems. It is located in the Market of Wake Forest Shopping Center…read more The building has transformed from what was once home to Pizza Hut. It is on the side closer to Capital Blvd., and there is plenty of parking. Usually, when I dine here, I can select my own seat, and they bring me a menu, but at busy times, they will seat me. You can enter from either side of the building, and one side has a ramp. I try to enter on the left side as I like to look at the daily specials. Over the years, I have gotten to sample quite a bit on the menu. The portions are always large and generous. My favorites are the eggs Benedict, the burgers and the fried fish. But I have enjoyed everything I've eaten here. Breakfast can be ordered all day here. The menu has Southern dishes and Dominican dishes, too. I am always warmly greeted when I enter, and service is friendly and attentive. I'm usually given a tea to go as well. The prices are quite reasonable.

We joined some Wake forest groups to find things since we are soon moving up here. We had seen…read morepictures of specials this restaurant had of like sandwiches and like chicken wings, grilled pork chops and some southern foods. The door we entered didn't have that sign so we thought maybe at the wrong place...(to be continued...) We entered and was greeted and immediately seated. Place wasn't very full but was clean and looked nice. Our server brought our menus and got our drinks, my boyfriend ordered us some Arepas and it came with 2 sauces one salsa verde and one mayo/ketchup mix. They had sandwiches and some Spanish Caribbean food. I decided to try something I have never had before and got the Ropa Vieja with black beans and tostones and He got the Cuban sandwich (with no mustard ) and maduros. It was delicious very flavorful food although my bf was like that would be good with white rice since Rooa vieja is stew like and so I ordered that as well and man....that was exactly what it needed (it should automatically come with it!) the meat was sooooo tender and juicy and delicious! Also I didn't realize what the tostones were so I ended up trading those for His maduros (which is what I thought I was ordering with the tostones...now I know better) The meat from his sandwich was also tender delicious well seasoned and make me jealous I didn't order it too! (Story continues) ....When our server came and asked how our meal was we definitely gave praises on the tasty meal but did ask him about the specials...he said "yeah it's on our board by the front door!!! We came in the back door!!!! Now we know. He said it's a southern food/ Spanish Caribbean inspired restaurant. Either way we will definitely put this in a regular rotation to eat at.

I was a bit thrown off by the overhead sign that read "Oak Roasted Coffee", but looking below on the door I saw Summer Moon Coffee. I walked in and I wouldn't have pictured this place the way it was set up in my mind, it wasn't your average coffee shop. It was chic, stylish, and modern and gave home decor, which I loved. The guy that helped me with my order was very patient and pleasant as I asked him for his recommendation on how to order a semi sweet matcha latte. We landed on the "1/2 Moon Matcha latte" and it was perfect. Not too sweet but also not bitter. There was a good balance and the drink was made pretty quickly

I asked a couple of questions about the pastries and then decided to order their seasonal Autumn Moon Latte w/ Oat Milk and a Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffin!!! While I waited, I sat in one of the very comfy big leather chairs near the front at the fireplace. There are several tables throughout as well. It was love at first sip!!! It literally tasted like a beautiful fall day. The muffin was so fresh and delicious. The service was great might I add. I'll definitely be back soon.

Easily one of the best restaurants we've been to in the area! Had a family birthday celebration…read morehere and it was an amazingly great experience! Our server, Dawn, was easily one best servers I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable about the menu, made a point to explain everything and no questions were too obscure. We had a variety of dishes, and out of everything the pork schnitzel wasn't really a schnitzel if you've ever had one in Germany, it was more like a breaded, fried bone-in pork chop, really good but not a traditional schnitzel. The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! The Farm Table is a roomy restaurant with tables well suited for family style dining and while a bit loud, certainly not uncomfortably so Totally recommended and thank me later for those Brussel Sprouts!

We had one app (tuna poke nachos if you must know) that were very good, but everything else was sort of mid. The ideas are good...execution comes across a bit flaccid. No bold flavors, only bold ideas. Draft beer selection was definitely good. Mixed drinks tasted fresh (no sour mix etc) and the ambience was welcoming and chill. Staff were all nice. Place seemed clean. Flavor Score: 3 Experience Overall : 4
