They guided me through every step of what they were doing and even let me pick what music we could listen to during the surgery (I was passed out but still- super nice to wake up to it). Once I woke up again they gave this very handy face wrap to ice my cheeks/jaw. Before I even went into surgery and had my consultation they played a video for me that easily explained what the procedure is like and what to expect. They made sure all my questions were answered before making a decision to doing the surgery with them. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have this procedure done.

I was referred to Dr. Granda for a wisdom tooth extraction with sedation. He said he could not do…read moreit at his office and referred me to University of Miami Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I immediately told him I did not want to go to a student learning facility because I had a very bad experience with one previously. He assured me that was not the case and the the Professors actually practice there and do the work. He also said he knew all the oral surgeons there, and any one of them would be great. Based on his representations, I made an appointment and met with Dr. Lawrence Armentano. I told him what Dr. Granda had told me. He advised me that he would not personally be doing the surgery because this is a student teaching facility. He said he did not know Dr. Granda, but he recognized the letterhead as Dr. Granda had sent many referrals to them. I then looked up Lawrence Armentano information on line and found he had only 1 review, and it was extremely negative. Based on that I decided not to have my tooth removed there. I sent a letter to Dr. Granda advising how angry I was for having to pay $176.00 to find out he had lied to me. He knew or should have known that where he sent me would be student dentists doing the work, which is exactly what I told him I did not want. I have asked him to refund the fees I paid to Dr. Granda.

Let me tell you about this place…read more I came here because I was having pain in one of my teeth and wanted a simple exam and a professional opinion. However, instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, the dentist spent most of the time examining my gums then informed me that I had periodontal disease. I found this surprising because no previous dentist has ever mentioned periodontal disease to me. She explained that it was in the early stages and that the sooner I treated it, the better. According to her, if I waited, it would only get worse and become much more expensive to treat later on. The entire conversation felt like an attempt to sell me additional procedures I originally came in because I was experiencing serious tooth pain and wanted to know whether I needed a root canal. They did tell me I needed one but never clearly explained which tooth required treatment.(concerning) Instead, they quickly started discussing scheduling procedures and suggested beginning treatment that same day and returning later in the week to finish. Then came the costs: approximately $1,500 or more for periodontal treatment and $1,689 for a root canal. It felt like numbers were being thrown around without much explanation. I also felt pressured to agree to treatment on the spot. I declined the periodontal treatment and told them I would think about the root canal. I never agreed to move forward with any procedure. Since I was paying out of pocket, I was being cautious. A few days later, I discovered a large charge had been placed on my CareCredit account. When I called the office, I was told, "We thought you wanted to do the root canal." That was absolutely not true. I immediately demanded the charge be canceled and informed them that charging for a procedure I never authorized could be considered fraudulent. They agreed to cancel it but continued trying to convince me to proceed with treatment. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major dental work at this office.

He was kind and explained everything to me. You can watch Netflix, Hulu, etc while waiting. You have your own dedicated TV. Dr. Villena saw me and put together a good plan for needed dental work. They have special technology to visualize bacteria attacking the teeth; the tech shows tooth health at each layer. Deering Dental is superior to a typical dental office. Very impressed. Flexible pricing with a discount for paying up front, in full. At the end, they gave me a welcome package. Including great dental products and my choice of a gift card The package is easily worth $50+. They offer this to their new customers. I was supposed to be seen in July. I needed to expedite my dental plan due to a filling from a (good) prior dentist coming out recently. I came in on June 9th for an evaluation. Velma--another hygienist--was thorough and nice. She and Dr. Pinto explained the urgency of my situation. They gave me specialized products to get my oral health back on track. Today, Dr. Pinto and Velma saved my wisdom tooth.
