The care I received today was amazing and very reasonably priced. I was blown away by the doctor, she explained everything she was doing in real time - that's not what I've ever experienced before going to the dentist. Unbelievable care. A++++

I had a few cleanings done here, which were pretty normal. Like others have said, I had to wait longer than expected but nothing too drastic. I did end of switching providers though after one too many bad experiences that could not be coincidental. Saga as follows: -They switched dentists between my 2nd and 3rd cleaning here. During the second cleaning I was told I would need multiple fillings (which I kept procrastinating...) During the 3rd cleaning the new dentist said I did not need any... (to give benefit of the doubt, maybe every dentist is different...? But I felt like the previous dentist was just trying to get money out of me! -They were VERY hesitant to give a referral for a wisdom tooth extraction to anywhere but one specific place (which didn't take my insurance) Once I finally jumped through all the hoops for them to finally release my information to who I was asking them to, they only sent part of my record and I had to get X-rays redone at the place I was getting my wisdom teeth out because they "didn't have it" -During my 3rd cleaning they took the X-rays again because the "didn't have them" How do you misplace X-rays...? ‍ - the new dentist was really demeaning, mansplained EVERYTHING to me, even restated something I literally just said, and used my name every other second thinking he was "connecting with me." I did not like it! But I was thankful he retook the X-ray "for free" (not my fault they misplaced it though...) and did not lie about my filling so that was nice... mixed reviews on him -Nail in the coffin, my last appointment was 7/22 and i have not heard from them since (except to cancel a cleaning 1/23 because I decided not to continue with them...!) All of a sudden I get a collection notice in the mail saying I owe them money for my last cleaning.... I called to ask why I didn't get a bill or a call or anything. They claim they sent 8 bills before sending to collection but I did not get 1... Needless to say: proceed with caution. The people are not bad (also not the best...) but I had one too many bad experiences for it to be coincidence.

Dr Scott worked for a few minutes and then my son gaged a little because of the water. The dentist pulled all the stuff out of his mouth and proceeded to belittle a three year old. To the point where my son was visibly upset and apologized and asked to try again. At which point Dr Scott pulled off his gloves and told us to leave. I was so upset and disappointed that he treated my son that way, but more upset because I let someone talk to my child like that. If my son is acting up I have no problem with someone telling him to knock it off, but my son was doing nothing wrong. My first clue should have been when he fired all his old staff. I should have realized something was up, my next clue should have been when I heard him telling his staff how he was "over" have to spend time with his grandkids. I loved this dentist as an adult, but he is NOT a family dentist, and he is not a kind person. I can't endorse someone who treats other people like that. I left the office in tears and the staff was so kind to me. I really wish all the support staff there the best. They are amazing!

And are not condescending (that means to talk down to) when they talk to you about your care. They want to help you so down the road you don't have big issues. The office is clean and modern and has a play area for kids. The staff is friendly and helpful. Today I saw Dr. Scott, Shayla and Adrianne (sp?) and I left happy. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 's is seriously, who likes going to the dentist?

My children have been seen here and the hygienist and Dr Scott are both very good with them. My oldest has fear of the dentist but felt very comfortable. At my routine cleaning today the hygienist and Dr Scott both took time to thoroughly discuss what was going on in my mouth. I really appreciate that Dr Scott is a conservative dentist and doesn't believe in doing work unless it is necessary. Both my husband and myself found him to be condescending. Because I would not agree to having dental implants I think that Dr. Scott was not happy with me. He did not offer me any alternatives. I showed up for my cleaning twice a year and dr. Scott checked me each and every time after my hygienist finished with my cleaning. At my last appointment I was disappointed to see that my hygienist have left and I had a new one who proceeded to tell me that I needed all kinds of periodontal work to the sum of a great deal of money. It seemed odd seeing this had never been recommended before and I didn't really feel that this problem had just suddenly cropped up. Dr Scott blamed it on my old hygienist insinuating that she didn't do a good job which didn't make any sense to me seeing he looked in my mouth and checked me and said everything was fine after every cleaning. It would be more professional to be accountable , if I indeed had a problem, because after all, he was supervising my treatment .I went to another dentist for a second opinion and was told that the dental work that dr. Smith recommended was not needed which brings up the question of his being ethical. Find another dentist..this guy has issues.

On Tuesday I scheduled an emergency appt by phone for Thursday and provided my insurance information since I hadn't visited since prior to 2020. Wednesday, I get a call saying my dental plan insurance is showing up as medical when they attempt to verify it. (This is a plan listed on Smilebuilderz website as covered. My card says "Dental Card" on it and the ID number is different than my medical card.) I re-supply the insurance info to the person on the phone and they tell me, "If you don't hear back, you're good to go for Thursday." I didn't hear back. Thursday comes around and I show up 15 minutes before my appointment. I took the time off from a job I just started to deal with this dental emergency. I end up sitting in the waiting room for 50 minutes before informing staff I needed to get back to work. In a last ditch effort to be seen, I provided an alternative insurance which if used, would charge me the monthly premium since it was currently inactive. This second insurance, I called while in office, ended up requiring me to add Smilebuilderz as my primary dental and then told me it could take hours for the confirmation fax to be sent. So, I get home and call my insurance; they call Smilebuilderz and we get my dental plan set up, according to Molly or Margaret (?). Immediately after this was remedied, I get a call from scheduling and set up a second appointment for Saturday in Ephrata, a 40 mile round-trip away. I arrive on Saturday annnnd the insurance I had set up with the insurance agent and Smilebuilderz rep on the phone Thursday around 10:30 AM had NOT been set up and my only option was a credit card self-pay then self-bill my insurance afterwards. I now have to wait until the end of next week to get into a different company's urgent dental because it's a holiday weekend and can't request time off until Tuesday. Also, Anita, the manager in Ephrata, when asked if there is someone above her, said there is no one. I googled while on the phone with her and asked for Anthony's number so she gave me the main line really fast w/ no extension.
