Absolutely not the case or culture at this location. I had an appointment to see a specialist here because it was the only time I could fit into my schedule and Fulton market office was booked. I arrived to my appointment at 10:15 am and waited for about 25 minutes till I was seen by a hygienist who was asking me questions that the answers to were notated in my chart, I asked if she has the chart and she said yes and then stopped asking me questions. The "specialist" came in the room and without even actually looking in my mouth deemed I needed to have two teeth pulled (something that hadn't been discussed as a potential part of my treatment plan) and then asked if I had any questions and seemed in a rush to leave. It seems like no one cares to look at your chart or do the basic functions of their job and it's easier just to suggest getting teeth pulled rather than listen to me as a patient and try to assess the problem. It's shocking to me that such a big decision/oral surgery would be prescribed to me without even taking a look at my mouth, the people in this office don't care about patients at all and that's a horrible feeling when you are paying this much to be seen.

Recently, I tried a dentist near my house but ended up paying hundreds out of pocket (with insurance!!) in Brookfield, definitely ripped off - so I switched back to Ditola's office in Melrose Park. I've never had a problem with them over charging me or my insurance. The staff has never done any extra services, without asking me first. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Yes, I've waited 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.... But I've also been seen right away; it just depends on the time you schedule your appointment?? I suppose this place might overbook, since it's always packed but Ditola's team does great work. My cleanings are superb, cavity fillings are not painful, X-Rays are not uncomfortable, my teeth feel great and look nice... I've never had any problems after coming here. I am pleased with this place and will continue making appointments every 6 months. I'm not too fond of the location since I moved away, but after trying 3 other Dentists over the years, I am happiest with Ditola.. Also, this is a bilingual dental office which is a plus for the area.

When I first scheduled, the girl was very unprofessional on the phone. She failed to hear that I was referred from elsewhere (sister clinic) and made my child a second chart. She stated "I should have told her". No!! You should be thorough at your job. It's highly all Hispanic, which is whatever, but just did not feel comfortable here. The floor and the seats are also dirty and old/worn. I will be finding someone else to handle her braces. Lastly, when told there we be a balance to be paid because the insurance didn't cover everything, I was talked down to. The amount of detail and time spent performing even the most minor procedures attests to his strive for perfection. While I live in central Chicago, my work is in the Maywood area and I'm glad it is or I would've never found him. Sure Maywood is not the prime location to be, but for those in close by areas (Forest/Oak/Melrose Parks, North Riverside, Broadview, Westchester), I would whole heartily suggest Dr. Wright as your dentist. I'm a pretty hard critic (as you can see from my previous posts), so you can believe that this guy (in my opinion) is stellar. Dentistry is somewhat like the optometry business where if you're sinister and unscrupulous, you can make a killing from offering your patient unnecessary procedures. For example, the dentist I saw prior to Dr. Wright estimated costs in the range of $280/tooth (with insurance) fillings, which was a fat lie as that dentist was a cosmetic dentist who wanted to put in cosmetic fillings instead of medically necessary ones and managed to dress it up as being my only option. Dr. Wright took into consideration my cosmetic goals in conjunction with what would be best for my cavities and used a top notch resin-based composite for my fillings and achieved the same, if not better, results as the cosmetic dentist had to offer at 1/16th of the price!!! He's so smooth with his work I actually fell asleep during my fillings! And no more tiring of your jaw, this guy thinks about your comfort and actually puts in a bite block so you don't have to strain. He's the first dentist I've had to incorporate a bite block! Wow! His office is in a new building, he uses advanced computerized imaging, his materials are top notch, his receptionist and dental assistants are friendly as well. And there's plenty of reading material. I could rant and rave more. I am effusive each time I see him as I am so pleased with his high quality care and not offering unnecessary procedures. Also maximizing my insurance benefits. While I think this is extraordinary of him, he would probably be baffled to hear that majority of dentists don't advocate for their patient, but rather for their pocket. Should I remain in Chicago after my 4-year stint, you better believe I'm gonna drive from downtown Chicago all the way to Maywood for my dental checks. Other pros: Extended hours Cons: none!
