I needed to have a molar removed. My family dentist referred me to Dr. Marshall, and I made an appointment for noon on a Monday. As I was getting ready to leave the house, my phone rang - it was Dr. Marshall's office, telling me they were running about 15 minutes behind schedule, and asking me to come at 12:15 instead of 12. I'm an old guy who has been making appointments at various places for almost 50 years, and this is the first time any business has ever called to tell me they were running a bit behind schedule. Sure would be nice if other places did this sort of thing, too. The folks at the office were friendly, and throughout my entire visit, everyone let me know what to expect next. From what I understand, if you inject an anesthetic into a gum at a slow rate, there is very little pain or discomfort. Evidently Dr. Marshall understands that too, because other than the initial discomfort of having a needle poked into the skin, the whole process of having my tooth removed was relatively painless. I often found myself tensed up in anticipation of pain and discomfort that never occurred. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Marshall explained what he was doing, and it was obvious the two nice ladies who were assisting him have worked with him for a while - they all worked together very well, everything went smoothly, and there was no confusion about what was being done. Thinking back, while everything went smoothly, I'm not real sure that everything went as planned. I'm pretty sure the plan was to pull my molar. But I'm guessing my molar wasn't interested in going along with the plan, since Dr. Marshall had to separate the roots of the tooth and remove each root individually. The thing is, Dr. Marshall and his staff transitioned from "Plan A" (pull the molar) to "Plan B" (separate the roots and remove them individually) so quickly and easily that I really don't know if they saw it as an additional problem. After the molar was removed, they told me what to expect, told me what to do to care for my mouth, gave me a printed page with those same instructions, and told me they have an answering service I could call after hours if I had any problems. As I write this, it is the day after the tooth was removed, and I've had no problems at all, no pain at all, and only a slight amount of soreness. I'll be a very happy camper if I never have to visit an oral surgeon again. But as you can probably tell by this review, if I ever do need to see an oral surgeon again, I'll be seeing Dr. Marshall. read more

Yes indeed yours truly with the awesome summer tan is an example of WHY you should have your wisdom teeth taken care of early.........SPECIALLY if they are angled weird. Dr. Marshall is a very nice, pleasant man! Better yet.... seems like he is a legend in these parts as the wisdom teeth guy! Not to mention that if your being put to sleep via anesthesia what better way to be sent away for a while than by his nice young blond Polish dental assistants! Sweet dreams Big brown sweet dreamz!!! Upon waking up I was missing 2 wisdom teeth and kinda confused...... 3 weeks later now and I am healing like a champ!!! Shake and bake seal of approval!! My son had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed today by Dr. Marshall and we couldn't be happier with the results. He's had virtually no swelling despite a 90 minute procedure and very manageable pain. I'm sure that has everything to do with Dr. Marshall's surgical expertise! And his front office staff is fantastic. Many of my friends have teen age or college age kids going through this experience and I cannot recommend this practice enough. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Marshall First Dr. Marshalls office was very helpful setting up my appointment. I had scheduled an appointment with another oral surgeon at another office, and I received a call that the surgeon would be on leave due to illness. Trouble for me as I would no longer have dental insurance by the end of the month. Joan got me an appointment for Wednesday of the following week. I also received a call back in a half hour verifying my insurance coverage and advising me of my out of pocket expenses. Very helpful and comforting to receive such great service. My appointment was for noon after filling out a couple short forms I was in the chair within 10 minutes. Dr Marshall explained everything that needed to be done and what he was doing each step of the way. I felt very comfortable, and about 30 minutes later my tooth was gone. Dr. Marshall pulled my wisdom teeth and did an awesome job!

I experienced a very disappointing and stressful visit with Dr. Marshall s office. I made an appointment for a consultation on extracting my wisdom teeth. Upon arriving, I handed the receptionist my dental insurance card and referral. She took me into a room to watch a video highlighting the procedure and risks of wisdom teeth removal. She then looked at my x-ray and told responded, "Oooh..these look bad." My initial thought was, excuse me? Are you my doctor? Do you have absolutely any right to make comment on my x-ray and scare me about the potential surgery I may need? That was the first red flag, and I should have high-tailed it out at that moment. During the middle of the video, she asked me if my insurance was through the state of Illinois. I responded yes, and she said okay and left the room. I then waited for the doctor, who was very pleasant and nice. After we discussed the wisdom teeth removal procedures, I was escorted to the receptionist to talk estimates. She says, "Unfortunately, since the state of Illinois takes forever to process, our policy is you have to pay full price up front or set up a payment plan. We will file a claim with your insurance company but don t expect to get that money for 7 months. Today your bill is $80 for the consultation. The total amount you will have to pay on the day of your surgery or if you set up a payment plan is $1,775." I was FLOORED! That price was for only 2 teeth! She failed to tell me all of this before my appointment even began with the doctor. Not thinking clearly, I paid the $80. I am so disappointed in the service and have never heard of such BS in my life! Do NOT come here..the receptionist is unprofessional and leaves out very important information!!! Also, their policy on State of Illinois insurance is insane! What is the point of having insurance if you come to this place?
