I've been a patient at New Age Dental for years, and I truly believe it's important to visit the…read moredentist, even if it's not the most enjoyable experience. That's why I highly recommend New Age Dental. From Dr. Koko to everyone else, I've received the best care imaginable. To illustrate their kindness and flexibility, yesterday, while I was comfortably waiting in the waiting room, an elderly woman in a wheelchair was brought in by someone I assume was her son. According to the front desk, she had called twice earlier that day to cancel her appointment. It turns out she had some dementia, which is so unfortunate. New Age Dental had filled her spot, which she had canceled twice, with another patient. Even so, they still scheduled her for care that day. I'm sure this meant someone had to stay later than planned, but that's a small price to pay for such excellent service. My hygienist, Tori, is the one I almost always see to work on my mouth (we didn't have fluoridated water where I grew up; my parents and the town thought fluoride was a communist plot, which, combined with having soft teeth, means I have a lot of metal in my mouth, not to mention plenty of crowns). Tori is such a wonderful, personable, and skilled technician that I no longer need to take Diazepam before going to the dentist. She always considers any of my concerns, and with a mouth like mine, there's always something! I should also mention that the entire office is equipped with the latest dental technology, whether it's for x-rays, teeth cleaning, or anything else. The office is clean and well-maintained. Dr. Koko, whether he's checking on my mouth or replacing a worn-out crown, is always friendly and inquisitive, and more importantly, a skilled dentist. I've never been in pain, so I don't need to take Diazepam anymore. I heartily recommend New Age Dental in Morton Grove to anyone looking for a dentist.

Across three procedures from 2021 to 2025, after reviewing the history of my account, I was quoted a lower price each time and then billed more after the procedures were done. They blamed the insurance and the app they use to estimate, but the fact is they don't do pre-authorization for their quotes. For my recent procedure in 2025, they failed to disclose a prior denial for the same code and same tooth from 2021, yet still gave me a quote that was wrong and later told me the insurance "unexpectedly declined" the same code. They also pre-charged me before insurance finished processing, without my consent, which broke their own policy and added confusion to the bill. This left me questioning whether they already anticipated there would be a remaining balance - otherwise, the pre-charge and refund back doesn't make any sense. When I reviewed the documents they sent me, I also found another patient's EOB in my file. Overall, this office shows a pattern of low quoting followed by higher bills, lacks transparency in billing, and fails to safeguard patient privacy. If this is their standard practice, I can only imagine how many patients may have ended up with the same experience I had.

Their staff estimated my service to be $2000+ for a tooth extraction, for which they estimated my insurance would pay half the amount, leaving my responsibility to be $1061.00. to which I paid before I left the premise. A month or two later, I received a bill for $1076.50 - the amount my insurance denied. Looking back, I realized I was naive and they manipulated the situation. I thought they would be accurate by merit that Dr. Jodhan's was a professional organization, that their estimates were accurate based on experience. It was after they put my apron for surgery was put that that said I needed to confirm. I assumed that because they were professionals, I might be obligated to pay $100-200. Also, when though the estimated included a tooth graft, they have the recommendation again - thinking back they knew it was optional all along! $1000+ is a huge amount. Knowing that the insurance company pays a substantially lesser amount than the listed price. And their estimate was way off. I called to discuss a mutually responsible settlement. After ignoring 5+ calls, Dr. Nikisha Jodhan instructed that I could pay the full amount with a payment plan. I find her actions to be irresponsive, manipulative, and misleading--which will cost me $1000+ more than I expected She offered a payment plan after I declared to publicize my experience. I am setting up the payment plan, and I plan to share my experience. I have sent her a similar email--continuing to request discussion. She has not responded. Took a couple months to get an appointment, some lame excuse that " school was out". The "consultation" took 5 minutes, which included the dr coming in, no hello, just jammed his fingers in my mouth and told the nurse to get xrays. Popped in after xrays "gotta pull the teeth". No rundown, no explanation. Just walked out. Nurse came in with papers to sign and was whisked out to make another appt. a good month out. Day of surgery was horrendous. while drawing blood, the rubber cap came off one of the vials, he dropped one of them, yes, srill used them. One of the 3 extractions (only expected 2) he was pulling so hard, I was coming out of the chair. I had to hold on so I didnt fall out. He was also yanking vigorously side to side my brain was rattling. Once done, shoved a bunch of gauze in my mouth and walked out, on to the next patient. No recovery time t gather my wits, etc. Nurse gave me care instructions and told me to make appt to check stitches. When i saw him then, I asked why he pulled 3 and not 2, he said I had an abscess. Umm, antibiorics? He dismissed me and said it would just come back, and you signed the papers. sWhen it came time to remove the stitches, no hello again, just started at my mouth. No numbing the area, just painfully ripped out stitches. Wow. He has such a heavy hand. Shoved more gauze in my mouth as I was bleeding pretty good, and told to make an appointment for implants. Yeah right. Ill find another Dr!

Dr. Steven Krauss is the only dentist at Village Crossing and I can't say enough amazing things about him. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and caring. As bad as dentist visits can be, I feel comfortable when he is doing my dental work which is super important when it comes to any type of visits in the medical field. He has the nicest staff working for him - the two ladies at the front, as well as the nurse who does my cleaning. I had recommended my coworker to go see him when she needed dental work, and she has been thrilled ever since. I would without a doubt recommend others to go see him as well. The only issue I run in on is that they are very busy, so it takes a few minutes to find a good appt time for me. Granted, I have limited hours since I work, but it ends up working out. I almost always receive calls from the office when another patient had canceled or rescheduled his or her appointment, which to me is great patient care. Either way, if you are looking for a dentist in the Niles/Skokie area, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Krauss.

While all the staff is super nice and as helpful as they can be and the facility is clean and pleasant, the only dentist that works at this location is absolutely horrible. I went in experiencing pain and in need of some urgent work done on two teeth to begin with, knowing that there was also some additional work that needed to be done in the near future. But with two kids in college and Christmas in three weeks, doing everything at once was out of the question financially. Since I wasn't able to do everything he was recommending needed to be done, the dentist refused to help me with the two teeth that were causing me pain. Like other reviews, I found his manor to be quite cocky and clearly coming from a place of greed rather than one of actually providing care that fit with what I'm capable of paying for now. To be fair, the manager that booked my appointment told me when booking that the dentist "is focused on comprehensive care" but I didn't think that would mean that he would refuse to do things at a pace that worked for me and my budget so I moved forward with the appointment. My mistake. This negative feedback is however exclusive to this Aspen location in Morton Grove only. I have had a much more reasonable experience at a different location but this office is newer and was much closer to where I live so I made the appointment here. I wish I had checked the reviews first before booking but having had a positive experience at the Algonquin location, it didn't even cross my mind. Again, the entirety of the rest of the staff was lovely but no amount of nice from the rest of the employees can make up for such a poor dentist more interested in making money than providing actual care. Very disappointing.
