Granted at first I didn't like the choices i was given and decided to wait to see my own dentist the next day but my dentist ended up giving me the exact same options. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE !!!! Called in to bring my daughter as an emergency, the receptionist was super nice , looked up her insurance and told us to bring her in. My daughter recently had an extraction done so she was terrified of going back to the dentist! We walked in filled some paperwork out and waited for couple minutes . We were called to go in and the dentist did not even bother to introduce himself just stood behind us as we were trying to calm my daughter from crying. He said come on come on put her in the chair , I told him hold on we cant just force her to sit . Than he proceeded to grap my daughter not letting go of her and try to force her on the chair , I said let her go and he kept going! I grabbed my daughter in disbelief and said are you friken kidding me and walked out of there ! Please DO NOT TAKE your kids there !! I dont even recommend anyone to go . Save yourself the trauma . When we walked out my daughter said mommy did you see that he tried to grab me like that !!! I will be filing charges against this dentist . My daughter is traumatized . Edit ::: Obviously the owner/dentist must have short term memory loss if he does not remember exactly what he did 4 hours ago. You did not "pick her up" and try to sit her on the chair you grabbed her and try to forcefully put her on the chair when you obviously see she is in distress. You never even introduced yourself to her or explain to her what you are about to do and why you need her to sit on the chair . She is only 3 1/2 years old ! Next time you should ask the parent if they would like some assistance instead of just grabbing someones child after you have not even introduced yourself. I asked you to stop and you kept holding her down to sit on the chair , I hope someone one day gives you the same treatment so you can see how it feels when a stranger forces you to do something !!!!! read more

I randomly selected this dentist after a search on the 1-800 dentist website. I had a tooth that had split in half all the way to the root, and had no choice but to find a dentist that would extract it on short notice. The problem is, I'm phobic. No, I don't mean I dislike dentists. I hyperventilate, shake violently, blood pressure skyrockets, and I have fainted before in the chair. Well, listen up my fellow 'phobes: Go to this dentist. The staff were all so kind and so. so patient. Dr. Kramer himself came off a little coy at first (though I admit I was worked up and may have only perceived him as such), but he moves and speaks with utter confidence and purpose. He was very patient with me and gave me lots of little breaks and time to breathe after the scarier bits of the extraction. Oh, and another plus - the kind, kind lady who gave me my nitrous mask asked, "you let me know if its too high or not high enough". I barely let her finish before blurting out ENOUGH TO KILL A SMALL HORSE PLEASE. And y'know what, I sure as hell didn't have to ask twice. Plus, she was AMAZING with the injections. On a side note, not only am I a wuss - I'm a poor wuss. The office visit was 39 bucks...and INCLUDED a FULL set of xrays, which are showed and explained to you on a PC right after. And because my extraction was more complicated, my total was 289 (would have been 150 for a "normal" extraction). I expected to pay upwards of 300 and this was a very reasonable price. If you're a big baby like me, or you're just looking for a quality dentist, go here - its HARD to find a great dentist but you can't go wrong here. read more

Not sure how I found this dentist maybe just a google search but thank god I did. I take my kids here and both dentist do great work. My son got his tooth extracted out and still comes back with no fear. They take their time with their patients and very friendly and nice staff. I today for the first time in more than 15years decided that maybe I could come here and get my teeth looked at since they do so well with my kids. And let me tell you I was a bigger baby then my kids and this was just for a check up and xrays. They worked very well with me and understood my fear and didn't make me feel bad when I couldn't quite get the thing in my mouth for the xrays.. even though I was scared I was very comfortable. The world need more Dentist office like this one and maybe people wouldn't have such fears. I look forward to bringing my kids back here and myself for years to come. The office staff and dental assistants are also very patient and friendly. Just make the experience that much better. read more

I found the other reviews of Dr. Kramer to be very interesting because I had the exact opposite experience with him. I apologize for the length.. I went in as a first time patient because I had fallen and hit my teeth. After a few weeks they started to turn a dark color so I visited a dentist out of state who informed me that I would need a root canal but suggested I wait until I get home to have it taken care of. From the minute Dr. Kramer came in, it was bad vibes all around. He stood behind me for several minutes without greeting me or saying a word. After mustering a flat hello, he then proceeded to question me about each and every prescription I had listed on the form. The dental area is very open and in fact has no walls. I felt very uncomfortable reciting my medical history in such a set up and did not see the importance of doing so at that moment, as it was only a consultation. Naming off each medication and then forcing me to tell him orally what they were for was highly unprofessional and does nothing to protect patient confidentiality. From this point, the consultation went quickly downhill. While the first dentist confidently and decisively determined that a root canal was needed, Dr. Kramer was very unsure of what needed to be done. He had to ask the neighboring dentist many, many questions regarding my teeth. This dentist did not come over once to look at my teeth, as she was working on her own patient at the time but offered the opinion that I should wait 2 weeks. At one point, Dr. Kramer went on the internet to try to determine what should be done. I could not believe it. At some point during my appointment, Dr. Kramer left without saying a word. After about 10 minutes, I asked the assistant what was going on. After looking around, she said Dr. Kramer was speaking with someone. I turn around and he is having a friendly chat with a fellow patient. Again, very unprofessional and rude especially for a first time patient. Upon returning, I asked Dr. Kramer what the benefit of waiting a total of 4 weeks since I had fallen, to have the root canal. He replied that the tooth may heal itself and I may not need the procedure after all. I found this to sound very unlikely as the other dentist had said that I had severed the nerve and that the tooth was filling with blood, hence the darkness. The more questions I asked, the ruder and more aggressive Dr. Kramer became. When he sarcastically told me I could go to 6 other dentists if I wanted to so they could tell me the same thing, I got my things and quickly left. The next day I went to a different dentist (Dr. Sher, awesome guy) who performed the root canal on the spot. I told him what Dr. Kramer had suggested, waiting 2 more weeks with the hope that the tooth would heal itself, and he replied that in his 30 years, he had never seen such a thing happen before. Sure enough when this dentist drilled, the tooth was dead and had no feeling. Waiting longer would have only increased the chances that it would turn into an abscess. A friend's mother also goes to Dr. Kramer's office but only sees the other dentist Dr. Kuhn because in her words, Dr. Kramer is "an ass". I couldn't agree more. read more

The office staff is courteous, personable, and efficient, and they have gone the extra mile to see that my needs were taken care of as soon as possible. Dr. Kramer did an excellent job putting a crown on a badly broken tooth. I found his work extraordinarily precise and pain-free. I do not like this dental practice at all.. Dr Kramer is very coy, and hardly acknowledges his patients. I needed a lot of dental work done,and he wrote out a treatment plan. On visits, He would ask me, what I wanted done that day !! What kind of ...and i use this term loosely... "health care professional" asks his patients, what treatment they want that day? Are you kidding me... your the dentist pal.. you should know! YOU wrote out the treatment plan! After visits for treatment to his office, sometimes i was in more pain 3-4 days later then I was before my appointment.. He is lazy too... He told me I had to go and see a oral surgeon for a tooth extraction..What kind of dentist can not perform a tooth extraction? Its standard SOP.... Not satisfied with this... I went for a 2nd opinion and had that tooth pulled that day..with no problem. There is absolutely NO privacy in the treatment area. There are 3 dental chairs.. all lined up next to each other. You can here what the Dr is saying to other patients ! If this is not a gross violation of the HIPPA laws, I dont know what is.. I no longer go to this practice, and have since taken my business else where,. If you thinking of going... Don't.... There are hundreds of other dentist in the Chicago-land area you can choose from. read more

Reasonable fees, quick appointments, never have to wait, plenty of parking, and no overselling of services. What's not to love?

I've been going to Dr. Kramer for several years now and I can't say enough good things about them. The only complaint I have is that parking is not easy. You'd think you can park in the lot designated for the building, but there's literally only 3 visitor's spots. Other than that, the staff is friendly and prompt and I love the fact they use pressurized water/gentle abrasive to clean your teeth instead of the usual scraping with the scary hook. He's only blasted me once and it just feels like sand on your face. Not bad at all compared to scratched gums from scraping. I also like that the actual dentist (mine is Dr. Kramer) works on your rather than the hygenist. He's always pleasant and professional and gets you on your way. Definitely the best dentist I've ever had. read more

Wonderful! We saw Dr. Kuhn today and although the wait was long it was totally worth it. You can tell that the dentists spend as much time as is needed with each patient. The receptionist was nice and the waiting room was clean and organized with clean toys for the kids and books not based on television characters (yay)! Our family is a bit unusual in that we opt out of some routine treatments and diagnostics and this always brings criticism from a new dentist, but Dr. Kuhn was great. Not at all pushy and very understanding even though she likely did not agree with our choices she totally accepted them. She was GREAT with the kids, my nine year old got a cleaning and my three year old tagged along and she was just lovely even when they weren't behaving like perfect cherubs. She treated them with kindness and was very warm and gentle. She was willing to answer questions about the treatment plan and alternatives/postponing certain aspects of it in a way that demonstrated her knowledge of what was medically necessary and most important while also respecting that we may need time to think it over or possibly decide against it. I very much appreciate the insight and experience that she brings and her willingness to talk with her patients and not assume that one will undergo a treatment that they might not be familiar or comfortable with. This is a rarity in the medical field in general which is unfortunate as it really allows for mutual respect of the doctor patient relationship. Today I had a dental emergency and called the office of Kramer &Kuhn. I have been a long time patient and have been receiving excellent care. When I mentioned I needed to be seen because my porcelain veneer had fallen off I was told to come in. I was squeezed into a tight schedule and care for by Dr. Kramer. I visited Drs. Kramer and Kuhn for the first time several months ago, with one appointment with each of the two dentists, and am happy to recommend them. They get an 'A' for cleanliness and professionalism. They were to-the-minute prompt. Their equipment seems to be of the latest technology, their efforts to prevent pain were successful, and they were very proficient. One of my procedures called for some creativity and was handled very smoothly. I needed several extractions of what remained after two root canals 'exploded'; I assumed I'd need to go to an oral surgeon; Dr. Kuhn said that Dr. Kramer was an oral surgeon; and, indeed, he handled those extractions on-the-spot in a very workmanlike manner. I appreciated that they didn't make me self-conscious about any of my dental issues. They're modern without being kitschy or trying to be super-hip. Their focus is on the patient, and they offer services for adults and children. Their support staff are efficient and pleasant, and their waiting space contains an area with children in mind. The likely need to find parking outside of their office building's lot (Be careful: spaces designated for visitors to the building are limited to perhaps six, and apparently the towing signs are not empty threats) is inconsequential when the result is excellent care. read more
