Such was my case recently, when I noticed a cavity on a lower front tooth that started to crumble. God knows that being a foodie at heart, my teeth have gnawed and chewed way through food both tender, and delicious, to downright tougher than a heel on an old combat boot. It was time to reach out and find new dentist in a hurry. First off, My insurance provider gave me a list of dentists, and I saw that Dr. Johnna Mills was in my network, and not far from where I live. So I decided to book an appointment at The Village Dentist, which is located in historic Cherry Hill, Michigan, which is in western Canton Township. The business is located in a renovated home on Cherry Hill Road, which I visited there when I was seven years old, as my mother knew the family that lived in the house back then. So it was rather strange at first going inside, but after I walked in, I felt right at home. Secondly, The level of compassion and warmth is amazing at this practice. Heaven knows I have been to a few dentist offices over years that were just the opposite, where the iceberg that sank the Titanic would be considered more warm and personable than the people who worked there. However, this is not the case at The Village Dentist where the staff treat you like family, and not just a number. Likewise, I can't say enough about how clean and neat this place is, which IMHO says a lot about how much they care about their patients. Finally, Dr. Mills is absolutely amazing, and has a nice gentle but firm touch in her approach to dentistry. In the past, I have had dentists where I have a lot of pain after the numbness of the anesthetic wore off for a day or two afterwards. Thankfully, this was not the case this time. Dr. Mills only recommended dental work that was necessary, or should be addressed down the road. It was like she was reading a dental roadmap, and giving me the best route to follow. I didn't feel like I was being upsold like a few of my friends have complained about at other dental practices in the Metro Detroit area. In fact, if could give this review 10 stars I would do so without any hesitation. Once you come to The Village Dentist, you will not want to go anywhere else.

I came across this one here on Yelp, and I am SO happy that I did. The dentists here referred me to Dr. Pasternak, their oral surgeon. I hate having my teeth messed with and I'm already anxious just going to the dentist for cleanings. Needless to say, I was so nervous about the procedure and possible complications, but she did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making me feel safe. Some of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so the procedure required more work and was done under anesthesia (by my request, I wanted to be out of it). Everything went exceedingly well, I had no pain during recovery, and the incisions/holes healed with ZERO complications. Two years later I still think back on the experience and how grateful I am to Dr. Suzanne Pasternak for the skill and care she provided. I figured I should write a review since I still feel so strongly. The office staff were amazing too and were very helpful during all of my pre-procedure visits. I highly recommend this place for everything dental-related. I would make it my regular dentist's office if I didn't live so far!

When was the last time your doctor/dentist ever called you back, let alone when was the last time they voluntarily called you to make sure you were alright? *insert sound of crickets here* Right!? About two weeks ago my mouth was hurting so bad of and on that it was interfering with two of my favorites pastimes - talking, and eating! All kidding aside, I was pretty damn miserable and decided that enough was enough. Since I did not yet have a dentist on this side of the world, it was time to whip out my phone and do some Yelping. I did not have to search for too long, and decided to give Robison Dental a call. I spoke with Mia on the phone whom was attentive and patient, listening to my woes and helping me schedule an emergency appointment. I have never been one to fear a visit to the dentist. Matter of fact, I loved going to my dentist and adored the guy for the positive feedback I'd receive at each visit. I have never experienced dental problems, dental pain, or pain at this level in general. So at this point I was getting a little scared, to tell you the truth. I figured whatever was going on in my tooth, surely could not be positive if it made me want to yank it out and be done with it alltogether. Whatever treatment was lying ahead could not possibly be worry- and painfree. Walking into the clinic I was impressed by the small details in the waiting area. Comfortable sofas and chairs took place instead of ugly, uncomfortable seating often found in other places. Beautiful books filled the tables, instead of weekly tabloids. I noticed a mini fridge which did not only have V8 and bottled water in it, but also served my favorite San Pellegrino water. I'm not gonna lie, this added a little checkmark in the 'positive' section on my mental scorecard (because I am lame like that, and I clearly have my priorities 'straight'). I brought my uber critical and hygiene minded husband along for emotional support; and he mentioned how nice and clean this office was when it came time to move to the back. Paula was waiting for me, pillow in hand (me likey!). She helped me out with some x-rays that needed to be taken, and stayed throughout the procedure which was to follow. She made me feel very calm and at ease throughout the 2 hours that I ended up spending in her presence. Dr JD was extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. He explained everything very well, and somehow managed to bring the news that I needed a rootcanal without me bursting out in tears or massive shakes. I did regress back to 5 year old me, going back to the inquisitive 'how' and 'but why' state. Dr JD whipped out his little tooth schematic, and had me trusting in him very quickly. I actually kinda felt like "OK - let's do this"! At the beginning and throughout the procedure he did everything possible to make sure that I was comfortable, taking his time numbing half my face to ensure there would be no discomfort whatsoever. You could have thrown a baseball anywhere on the right side of my face, and I bet I would not have known the difference. This whole numbing business was new for me, as where I am from cavities are filled without gas or shots. My husband calls this barbaric, I just like to call him a wusspuss. Either way, I was very apprehensive and concerned about both gas and the numbing shots, but Dr JD and Paula once again made me feel at complete ease. In case you were wondering, Robison Dental Group has a bunch of different payment options available. Whatever your situation may be, it is clear that this office puts their patients' needs first. Mad props to Dr JD for dealing with my neurotic questions, making me feel comfortable and at ease during my visit - and of course for fixing my chopper(s)! Also plenty of kudos to Paula, she is a sweetheart and super pleasant to spend a few hours of unflattering 'agony' with. Dr.Jim McHenry put in a bridge on left side of mouth in 1988 or 1989 and this bridge has never given me trouble, and it's now 34-35 years old!

I did not experience any pain during my surgery as Dr Chang rubs a numbing gel into your gum before injecting the anesthetic. So I didn't even know when she inserted the needle into my gums to inject the anesthetic before performing the surgery. She is familiar with the major oral surgeons and orthodontists in the Ann Arbor area. This office exemplifies the model of professional staff, and they all work as a team with each person carrying out their role well. The dental hygienist is very good and gives excellent instructions for caring for your teeth, and postop care. You will be grateful that you were referred to Dr Chang's office.

When my daughter was examined years ago, they diagnosed her with nine cavities. Her regular dentist found only three. More troubling was my own experience. In two thousand seventeen, I paid ten thousand dollars to have eight caps installed on my front teeth, replacing laminates I had worn successfully for twenty years without a single problem. Since then, I've returned approximately twenty times because these new caps repeatedly fell off. Each time, they attempted to charge me fifty dollars to reattach them, only backing down when I voiced my concerns firmly. The replacement cap they eventually installed doesn't even match the color of the original seven. My dentist was Doctor Julie. She was always friendly at first, but the moment I asked whether I would be charged for replacing the cap, her demeanor changed and she became rather ugly. Most recently, I underwent a root canal so they could place a utility cap on my tooth. However, when I came in for that procedure and also asked them to glue back on another cap that had fallen off, I complained about the situation. Rather than help me, Contemporary Dentistry refused to place the utility cap and told me to go somewhere else. This office shows a pattern of substandard work, repeated failures, and an unwillingness to stand behind their dentistry or support their patients. I recommend that everyone stay away from Contemporary Dentistry. They will cost you money and give you no good
