My first time there was just to shop around; find a local dentist that took my insurance, ask a few questions, and move on to the next. But my plan was changed the second I opened the door and was met by Tiffany's warm and welcoming smile at the counter. Her friendly vibe was so disarming that my 'business-only' attitude melted away, and before I knew it, I was officially a patient. My wife found it funny. My first consultation with the amazing Dr. Joseph Shimoun was... memorable. I boldly (and perhaps a bit stupidly) asked him to just pull all my teeth and set me up with some dentures. Instead of laughing at my ignorance, he listened to me with genuine concern as he wanted to understand where I was comming from with such a request. With the calm demeanor, he gently explained that I might not fully grasp what I was asking for and then showed me that he could give me back my own smile. He promised he could create a treatment plan with options, and he delivered. After some scans, some surprisingly fun chats, and some great tunes, we sat down again. He laid out a complete roadmap to fix my teeth, explaining every detail. Better yet, he assured me he'd personally work with my insurance to get it all covered. I didn't know how to refuse and went with his plan happily. What followed were many, many appointments - some stretching over three hours! Through it all, Dr. Shimoun's focus and patience never wavered. The man is a dental artist. My mouth, once a broken-down mess that made me forget how to smile naturally, is now filled with a full set of beautifully repaired teeth. No more cracks, no more holes! Dr. Shimoun's incredible dedication, Lexi's expert and gentle care, and Tiffany's ever-present kindness have left the greatest impression on me. Though I didn't meet a single staff member I didn't like, those three are the ones that really stuck with me. Thanks to them, I'm no longer afraid to smile while driving my school bus. The amazing care didn't stop with me. My wife is now a patient, and when I brought my kids in, the team showed their true colors. Instead of just trying to make a dime, they recommended a fantastic pediatric dental specialist that was perfect for my children, in our network, and close to home. They genuinely put my kids' best interests first. If your ever in need of a dentist or just looking around I urge you to give these folks a try, you wont be disappointed. The folks at North Oaks Dental do more than just practice dentistry; they practice kindness, and in doing so, they don't just fix smiles, they create them.

Left so much cavity without cleaning it all out before placing the filling. "Dr Bill" re did the filling twice and when I went to my new dentist they were shocked at the amount of decay that was left from previous dentist (Bill Shortt) and yes that was the exact words. This guy got me for an implant after giving me a horrible crown that failed within a year. As he was placing the implant (which was not done correctly and need to have fixed) he did not numb the back of my tooth he was pulling on to remove and I could feel everything! Like other patients comments he made a cocky comment to his assistant with his hand in my mouth about how I couldn't feel him cutting through the bone but could feel the tooth being pulled out, bc he numbed the same spot over and over and neglected the space behind the tooth. I was in tears and him and his assistant acted like I was over reacting or just sensitive. No way! I can handle pain this is not ok and I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy. My husband has had issues as well such as his work needed re done. I've never been to a dentist that has to re do so much of their own work!

This was my post on their FB December 19th. I am pretty sure I posted a yelp review but don't see…read moreit so this is from their FB review: had been going to this dentist's office for almost a decade. I had 4 crowns put on my front teeth 6 years ago and had been experiencing bleeding between the two front teeth for years. Also at that time I noticed the bottom two front teeth getting a "yellowish" look at the bottom. I was told "oh that's your root...is it bothering you?" I would say no and they would say "oh well if it starts hurting let us know". Last september I went for my cleaning and they did the panoramic extra. Not once in the LAST 5 YEARS had they taken xrays of my front upper or lower teeth. Long story I won't drag out but he sent me to the periodontist who told me both my upper front teeth were having root resorption - a rare problem but from me previously having knocked them out years ago. But she was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED that he had not referred me for my bottom teeth and that I was in jeopardy of losing several of them as well. She actually said it TWICE. I am now facing having both top front teeth removed and replaced with implants, orthodontics to hopefully push my lower teeth down so the periodontist can perform a frenectomy ( which was causing my roots to show) and a gum graft. When confronted as to how he missed this all he could say was "I don't see your xrays on your front teeth". "I am not sure" .I am now facing HUGE bills to have all this work done For years I asked about my exposed roots and was told "oh do they hurt? if not let us know if they do". Run - don't walk from here! I wish there was a negative stars button!! This was their reply: Brighton Family Dentistry PLLC Hello Joann, we would like to extend to you our most sincere apologies regarding your recent experience with us. We've been providing Brighton residents with quality care for over 40 years, and we want to keep going for many more. It is our goal to help every patient feel welcome, safe, and cared for, and that is something we take very seriously. We would love to speak to you personally to discuss your concerns. Please feel free to reach out to our office manager at 810-227-4224. I just got around to calling them as I was dealing with all kinds of other stuff and here is my post from last week: Just a follow up. I did reach out to you today to ask for all my records to be sent over to my new dentist as I now start to work on having my second front tooth extracted for an implant. I asked you how there was not any x-rays that had been taken of my front teeth upper or lower for 5 years and your answer was the same as Dr. Petersburg. "I don't know how that happened." I just spent the last 18 months in braces to push my front bottom teeth back into my gums and endured an incredibly painful gum graft in March to save them. At the same time pulling my front tooth down so it could be pulled out before it fell out and I would have had no bone left to put an implant into. The time, expense and pain I shared with you was answered with "I am not sure how that happened". I guess maybe you did not realize it was me as you stated above that you would love to personally discuss my concerns. Negative stars are not enough for your review.
