I purchased a 2019 Chevy Traverse on 4/28/25. Immediately had to be returned for brake work (was told it was lot rot, but it was ground in rust that you could feel when driving and applying the brakes). Since then, I have informed them of all the other repairs that I have had to pay for totaling over $2500. Their response has been - how would we know the blah blah would go bad? They did tell me that I could bring it back for the bad alternator because their cost would be cheaper than the $1500 Chevy wanted. Why would I trust their mechanic that missed very obvious issues in the first place. Testing all components before selling would be beneficial. I have also had to replace the four dry rotted tires (10 year old tires on a 6 year old car) for a cost of $1007. Their response is "well, it passed the safety inspection". I then had to replace the lower control arm/ball joint at a cost of $550. This would have been noticed if they did a full vehicle inspection, not just a "slap on a safety inspection sticker inspection". Now it also needs front brakes (rotor has heavy rust damage and pads are gone. Thankfully one major issue was the catalytic convertor pipe that was covered under Chevy's warranty (which of course they didn't let me know existed, i found out on my own). I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere, or be smart with your purchase. if they say they have a vehicle coming in, insist on a full inspection, not just a NYS safety inspection. Review with your own mechanic. I have learned a very expensive lesson that has resulted in my making sure others are warned. read more

I just left Jeff Kies auto sales. The son, Adam, was very nice, and then I got to meet Jeff himself. He was extremely rude to me, calling me "girlfriend," which in 2023 is not acceptable. I was telling him that the car I tried had no a/c (It's 91° here today), the seats were ripped up, and the car, had clearly been sideswiped. He just looked at me and said, "Have a nice day," and walked away. I'm in my 60s, and I have never been treated like this at a dealership. And believe me, I have bought quite a few used cars. We bought a 2018 vehicle In January off 2023 from Jeff Kies Auto sales. We asked if the vehicle had been in accident or if a Car Fax had been reviewed. They assured us there were no accidents in the history of the car. Last week we noticed unexplained damage to the paint and the hood of the vehicle. We brought it to an auto body shop to offer an explanation for the damage. We also ran a car Fax to find out about the cars history. It has been in three accidents causing major repairs. The body shop educated us on the poor quality paint job completed with a poor bondo job. The estimate for repairs is $2600! Chad said that everybody is approved but that doesn't mean you are. After calling him 3 times after I left. (Chad said that he was going to confirm the application and call me back). I've just purchased my third car from Jeff Kies. It's my third because I have found he and his sons terrific to deal with when purchasing a car. Each of the cars I have purchased have given me great service and pleasure while I owned them. Times changed and I bought a different type of car each time. Once you decide on the car you want after test driving it, the paperwork and such is a snap, since they take care of 90% (you still have to sign paperwork, sorry) including dealing with your insurance company and the DMV. Live 2 hrs from dealership and was talking to someone about a vehicle through emails for a few hours. Showed up to dealership and the salesmen left for day and owner was very rude and inconsiderate. Told me to leave dealership because I said if the person left then I guess they do not want a sale. Owner continued to say leave. So I took my $30000.00 bank check and went to another dealership. This dealer couldn't even abide by their own contract. I drove all the way from Syracuse to see a nearly rust-free 2004 F150 pickup for sale with 49k original miles. I signed a contract to purchase it with one exclusion: "FIX A/C". The dealer signed his name to it. I returned the next day to pick up the truck and the A/C had to operate on it's highest Max/recirculate setting for 10+ minutes to cool the cab when it was 83 degrees out. If the fan was lowered one notch, the cab wasn't cool enough. The dealer swore that there was nothing wrong, even though the mechanic that supposedly fixed the A/C also forgot to change the oil filter while changing the oil. He admits to leaving it on the counter, next to the truck. Unfortunately I drove several hours in the course of 2 days to see a used car dealer that wouldn't even abide by his own written word, on his own contract, bearing his signature. After being insulted by the owner, who was quite rude, my wife and I just went back home. read more

Sold me a Nissan Exterra that when I drove it home the check engine light came on.. Long story short took it to my mechanic who said the vehicle should have never legally passed inspection. The owner and his sons told me it was the way I was driving the vehicle and I didn't know how to drive. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. we bought a car from jeff kies and we test drove it we heard that the rear brakes were starting to wear down. We brought it up to them and they said that they would put new brakes in. We took the car home and trusted them. It's a couple months later and the brake pads starting sounding terrible so we brought it to our mechanic to fix. He told us that they lied and it was absolutely not new, they must have just greased it up or something. UGH lies. read more

I purchased a 2005 Outback in October 2011 after I lost my car in the flood. Thought I had a good car; I asked Chad to check out the brakes and suspension and he said he had his guy check and all is good. Well over $2000 in repairs and Jeff Kies won't help with anything and I started asking them to fix the problem back in October just after I bought the car. I even asked them to just help and split the repair cost with me; they just ignore me. I have never been so disappointed in a business before. What I thought was a great family ran business couldn't have been more wrong! June 1st I purchased a car from them, and left very happy. Until I got home and turned on the car the following day to hear a raddling. I called Adam and told him what was going on, he told me it was common for the car (Mazda CX7). It was only happening when the car was starting after not being ran for a couple hours. He even went on to say how he knew it doesn't look good when selling a car to hear the noise but told me I had nothing to worry about. I respected his honesty and went with it. However, I had never actually turned the car on for the initial cold start, so I would have never witnessed it, however I did think it should have been something I was informed of prior to the purchase. Who wants to buy a car that sounds like its falling apart when you turn it on? Anyway, on 9/29/15 I took the car into my mechanic to have the tires rotated. While my mechanic was working on my car he informed me that I had 3 bad wheel bearings! I was so aggravated that I didn't catch this.... Before buying this car I read several reviews, one of the most common complaints was that you heard a lot of road noise in this car. When I test drove it I did find it to be rather noisy but everything else that I liked outweighed the noise so I figured if that was its biggest fall, oh well. So for the last four month I drove around with this loud "road noise" and just played the music a little louder than I normally would! Until, 9/29/15, when I learned that it wasn't just a noisy car it was the wheel bearings! The mechanic said that the left rear wheel bearing was the worst and I should really get it taken care of that day, and the other two could probably go another month, but I shouldn't stretch it. So I fixed it. On 11/16/15 I brought it back to the shop for the other two. My mechanic then told me that the 4th wheel bearing was also starting to make some noise, and I needed to keep in mind that, that was going to need replacing as well in the next couple of months. I am usually one to go with the flow, it is what it is, sort of attitude. But the more I kept thinking about the more upset I was. How did this car pass inspection? What if I didn't take it in to the shop to rotate the tires? I would have most likely kept driving it until I got into an accident. I ended up calling Adam on 11/16/15 (same day the 2 wheel bearings were getting done) and told him about the wheel bearings. He insisted no car leaves his shop that can't pass inspection. We went back and forth about it, I was demanding if that was the case, then somehow this car got slipped thru the cracks, because no one should have passed it. I asked them to at least split the bill with me, because it's obvious these wheel bearings were bad when I bought the car. Adam then asked for me to send over my repair orders and wanted to know how many miles had been put on the car since I bought it. The next day, 11/17/15 I emailed the work orders over, Adam called me late in the afternoon and told me because it was 4 months since I bought the car and 5000 miles later there isn't anything they can do. He didn't even acknowledge the fact that it was impossible for me to have ruined these wheel bearings in the 5000 miles I drove it and just kept repeating that the car was fine when I bought it. If I didn't know better I would have thought I was listening to a recording. I also asked him who his mechanic was that inspected the car, because that was going to be my next phone call. He then said, "Why would I want to get my mechanic in trouble for something..." hmm, if the car was "safe" when I drove it off the lot then who is going to get in trouble? He also said there was no point in giving the name of the mechanic because I wasn't going to be able to prove it. Fortunately, he did end up giving me the information and that is who I will be calling tomorrow. People like the Kies family are the reason dealerships have such a poor reputation! Protect yourself and go elsewhere! Or at least have your mechanic look at the car before you buy it! I learned my lesson! My safety was at risk for the 4 months I drove the car, and on top of that I was left with a $1253.57 bill and another $400.00 bill in the next couple of months for the last wheel bearing! I wish there was an option for no stars. My personal opinion is this place is a dump. I drove 6 hours one way to buy a car they claimed was what I was looking for. I emailed back and forth about how picky I am and how the car needed to be a certain way in order for me to make the trip. I was assured that they wouldnt have me drive all the way to them if the car was something it was not. I got there after driving through the entire night, and by my standards, the car was a disaster! I saw dings and deep scratches running the whole length of the car, under the hood was a mess, and the driver seat had so much wear on it that there was a large spot where the cushion was showing through. The interior was filthy and stained. It seems to me that all of the internet pictures were taken at angles that did not reflect the true condition of the vehicle. It appeared as though the salesman refused to look me in the eye or say anything the entire time I was looking over the car and pointing out all the things I thought were wrong with the car. Why wouldn't he of argued my claims if they were false? Website claimed the car only had 30,000 miles on it....Well, the odemeter said 30,000 too, but from my experience around cars for over 10 years, I have never seen a car with so much abuse as this car with a reading of 30,000 miles. The driver seat's condition told me all I needed to know about the real life of the 4 or 5 year old car. I filed a report with the better business bureau and the owner immediately threatened to sue me for slander! slander?? by reporting an OPINION to the bbb?? isnt that what the site is for? I didnt find this as too much of a surprise, after having dealt with them and forming my opinions of what kind of people they are. If your opinion is that a business sucks at what they do and takes advantage of people, should you not be allowed to warn others in the chance that you might be able to save just one person from the headaches of dealing with a business that you believe has no work ethics or morals? I wouldnt personally recommend this dealership to ANYONE. go to a reputable dealership and spend the same amount of money (or less in the long run). A good dealership with good ethics will earn a good review. This dealership now has 3 negative reviews on yelp, and 0 good reviews, you make your own assumptions. OH and just to be entirely clear, so they dont threaten to sue me again, This entire above statement is a reflection of MY PERSONAL OPINIONS. read more

When I had a fairly small issue (Waiting almost 4 months for the second key they promised me at the time of purchase), they avoided my phone calls and never called me back. Once I got frustrated, they basically yelled at me and hung up on me. I will never buy a car from them again.
