He was happy to let us go out in vehicle #2, which we bought on the spot. Who you deal with is of utmost importance when spending a lot of money for anything. Mike, the owner instills the confidence required to feel good about buying a car from him. I highly recommend Auto Smart.

Ever thought you would be reading a five-star review for a used car dealership? Well I never…read morethought I'd be writing one, either. At the start of the new year, my 80+ year old mother, and long time Binghamton resident, finally agreed she should no longer be driving. I was relieved she had come to this decision, but living in NYC, had no idea where to turn in order to sell her car. As most people do these days, I started online with websites like 'Carvana', who seemed to be promising impossible amounts of money for a car they had never seen (it was over the KBB rate). It just felt like the whole thing would be a mess and I would wind up with it unsold and frustrated. I wanted to deal with a person, in person. I began calling local car dealerships and had the good fortune of reaching Mike at Auto Smart. On the phone, I explained my predicament to Mike. He was understanding and compassionate to the situation I was in, yet also realistic in his approach as to how much he could offer for the car. No wild promises, which I appreciated, and he was so accommodating to see me on a very tight schedule when we would be in town. This man knows his industry and, with the little bit of research I had done, I felt I could trust his offer. We agreed on a sale price for the car that made us both happy. If you are in need of a car, I would not hesitate to buy from him.

No I'm sorry...No call in advance letting me know...No customer service skills whats-so-ever. I even sent an email looking for an explanation about the mix up and they couldn't even be bothered to replay. What a lousy way to treat a potential customer right from the same neighborhood your business is in. I'll be sure to tell everyone about how well you treated me...That you can count on...Last time they'll EVER have an opportunity to sell me anything...

There was a small issue with a sensor that they took care of quickly and completely. I live about 100 miles away from the dealership so they saved me a trip by setting me up with a repair shop close to home who took care of the problem. I recall reading a generally negative review on another site where the customer complained that the company seemed a little too laid back and its employees seemed to be more interested in watching a soccer match on television than selling cars. For me, that was a plus, not a minus. Unlike visits to other car dealerships where it seems as if the sales rep is always trying to convince me that I am his/her new best friend, Leo and the folks at Priceline are not those phony, cookie cutter car sales reps, but just decent people trying to do a good job for their customers. I think that they realize that they won't make every sale but that if they treat their customers and would-be customers properly, they will come out far ahead in the long run. These are the type of people that I enjoy doing business with. I highly recommend!

As it was local, we didn't use a finance company, but went to our bank in the same town. This was in 2014 and we paid it off in 2017. I have numerous letters from that bank stating that the loan was satisfied and paid off. Now in 2023 we have a buyer for the car. However, we never got a title for it and have been trying to get a title for several months. We found through the bank that the car traced back to Ultimate Used Cars in Binghamton and that the finance officer there had electronically frozen the VIN # on the car so we cannot proceed with paperwork to get our title. My son has contacted the head of Ultimate Used Cars several times in the last three weeks but we get a runaround...always some excuse why it hasn't been taken care of. It is a definite runaround because the excuses are flimsy when we give him many days between our phone calls to address this problem. After all, how much effort does it take to get into their file on us and tell the computer the loan is paid and to unfreeze that VIN #? Even Title and Tag of PA cannot access it. So, my advice to you is DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM OR DEAL WITH A LOCAL DEALER WHO IS BEING PROVIDED CARS BY THEM. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. We have probably lost our buyer because it will take many weeks to get this corrected and a title in our hands. And my other concern is "has it hurt our credit?" I would like to know that as I had immaculate credit before this.
