Note: Originally a google review that I am sharing in other places because they want to remove my…read morereview. Update: I received a phone call about this review and the owner explained to me that it's very unfair that I am able to leave a review about how their estimate came in significantly higher than everyone else and that he would try to remove this review. The explanation for the markups and excessive parts-cannon behavior was that I had a Chevrolet vehicle and the quote was over the phone with someone other than the main phone guy. An engine job on this vehicle is approximately 18-22 hours of work as per industry standards, and at their stated hourly rate (~$125/hr) they priced the job with 33.3 hours of labor, which is overly liberal. The engine itself was marked up more than any of the other quotes, drastically so. There were also charges for services that one would assume would be included, such as preliminary diagnostics and ECM tuning following work. It was explained to me that they should have turned me away on the phone instead of providing me a quote without seeing the vehicle, which every single other shop was able to do in a reasonable manner. I have stated nothing fallacious or libelous in my review, but the owner was clearly upset that I was "badmouthing" and chose to "hurt their business" despite not going with them, apparently you are only able to share pricing information with the public after you pay way too much for service. I attempted to end things cordially but it didn't seem as though this was mutual. As a note, I have not paid them a single cent and am only reviewing: A: Their ability to provide a quote for my vehicle as all 9 other shops have. B: Their ability to receive criticism. I rate them a 1/5 stars on both accounts. I hope I do not have any contact with this business in the future. ________ Ran quotes for engine replacement at a total of 10 shops including a dealership. Advanced Car Care Center came in drastically higher than all the other independent shops, 40% more than the second highest quote, 78% higher than the lowest quote. They came in costing MORE THAN THE DEALERSHIP! I would recommend picking almost any other shop as the data is showing that their quotes are so bad that I felt it would be irresponsible for me not to share this information. Caveat emptor.

Thank you for helping out stranded travelers replace our flat tire. We highly recommend this shop.read more

We flew out from California to Missouri exactly a month ago to pick up our truck from this…read morelocation. The sales rep we worked with was out of another location, David A. Johns from Indiana branch. First off, he was an AMAZING person to work with. He was very communicative, addressed all of our questions, worked with this location to making sure all documents were ready for us upon arrival because we wanted to drive out back to California as soon as possible. However.... upon arrival, we waited nearly 4 hours to be seen and then another hour for the branch to locate paperwork although it was sent to them a couple days by David A. Johns prior to our arrival. Despite the long wait time, Josh who met with us took care of us and made it all worth it. Driving back to California in our new Peterbilt 579 with 80" sleeper, premium interiors and all the amenities we could want in a truck was so worth it. We will definitely be coming back here for our future trucks. THANK YOU DAVID AND JOSH!

I purchased a used garbage truck from TLG Peterbilt as a startup business owner. From the day I…read morepicked up the truck, I had concerns that something wasn't right. As someone new to the industry, I put my trust in TLG Peterbilt and Gabe, the salesman who handled the sale, believing they would help me find a reliable truck that would allow my business to succeed. Almost immediately, the steering gearbox was leaking, and I pointed it out as soon as I arrived and looked over the truck. The hydraulic hoses were leaking as well. To their credit, TLG Peterbilt paid for the replacement gearbox, but I was responsible for the labor and time required to install it. Shortly afterward, I discovered the brake lights did not work properly. After a lengthy struggle, they eventually purchased the electrical parts needed for the repair, but I still had to spend countless hours tracing wiring issues and making the repairs myself. As a first-time garbage truck owner, I did not initially recognize that the rough starting condition was a sign of a much larger problem. Because I was only operating the truck a few hours each week while building my customer base, it took time to identify the issue. I have since learned that the truck appears to have a failing head gasket, but that problem is being caused by a sunken cylinder liner. That is a major engine issue that likely existed long before I purchased the truck and is far more than just a head gasket repair cost. TLG Peterbilt's website states, "Our business depends on your business." Unfortunately, my experience has not reflected that promise. They knew from the beginning that I was starting a new sanitation business and that my livelihood depended on having dependable equipment. Instead, I ended up with a truck that has experienced serious issues from the start. For an established company, a major engine repair may be a setback. For a startup business, it can be devastating. Between repairs, downtime, lost productivity, and the possibility of a costly repair to address the sunken cylinder liner and head gasket issue, I am now facing expenses that may be more than my new business can absorb. I appreciate that TLG Peterbilt assisted with some parts along the way, but I cannot ignore the fact that the truck had multiple significant problems almost immediately after purchase. I trusted their experience and expertise when making this investment, and I am deeply disappointed with the outcome. I hope sharing my experience helps other small business owners ask more questions, get independent inspections, and carefully evaluate any used truck before making such an important purchase.
