We waited just over 2 hours & at the counter. The lady at the counter couldn't check & see what we would be charged. There was one $300+/-charge that came up on the credit card machine that she explained was a security deposit & to call Avis with questions. The charge should have been $200, but came up $300 and she couldn't explain why. In the parking garage, Josh was the employee working. There were marks on the hood & front area around the hood of the car he was giving us. I was worried about being held responsible for this "damage". Josh explained it was a new vehicle & we wouldn't be charged. When looking inside the vehicle, the car was full of trash, we asked about where charging ports were located & Josh told us to go to a gas station & pick up an adapter. At the garage gate, the wonderful female employee (not being sarcastic, she was great), notated the hood & front-end marks on the "pink slip". She notated that the car only had 4000 miles & that "Josh" hadn't even taken the time to put gas in the car! It had less than 1/8th of a tank of gas. This sweet lady explained to us to take a picture of the "pink slip" that most likely when we return the vehicle, the employees will make that "pink slip" disappear & we would be charged for items that we should not be charged for. We were given a dirty rental car, with trash (cups, sunglasses, receipts, & used band aids), hood & front-end marks, & NO FUEL! Terrible customer service. Upon the end of our trip, we made sure to put more fuel in the vehicle than it had when we picked it up. Later that day two separate charges came through on our credit card. One over $300 & another just under $50. Since returning the vehicle I have had daily emails with Avis disputing these unexpected charges, some of which are for fuel. This has been the most disappointing and frustrating transaction of our trip & we won't be using Avis again. To say we are frustrated is an understatement. My advice is to look into other car rental companies. It seems like such a racket with all these crazy fees and surcharges for everything. Somehow, read the fine print before getting to the counter.

It was almost 1 AM so I had no choice but to Uber to my hotel and then Uber to my meetings the next morning! I spent more on Ubers that morning than the rental had cost! After Uber back to the airport, they finally had a car for me and when I turned it in the Avis counter clerk told me that I could get some compensation and gave me his manager's card! I wrote Miss Espinosa an email and included screenshots of my bank account and Uber charges. She wrote back to ask me for my contract number I sent it to her and she GHOSTED ME! Never again!

Turns out people are looking to serve him in lawsuits. I have been in the warehouse where the equipment is stored. It has rats, mice, and no running war, with the toilet overflowing with feces. I have a friend that also only worked one week, and Jeff, the owner is now holding his tools hostage. During my time I witnessed Jeff, the owner sell drugs, and give drugs to people. He also put my friend out because he had medical appointments, and Jeff told him work or be displaced. My friend, having had cancer, chose displacement, as the appointments are crucial to his health. Jeff is often so high on pills that he cannot function. By this I mean he cannot speak clearly or even walk. Take the advice of someone who has seen firsthand. Go with another company. You might pay more, but you will not get ripped off.

That zero-refund policy is pretty convenient. I ordered a DJ equipment rental for our wedding reception. Submitted all the necessary paperwork, emailed back and forth a bit, and the contact was slightly rude, but nothing crazy. I've lived out of state for a few years, so I asked what to do about the fact I don't have an Indiana driver's license. At that time, they took a copy of our contract with the venue, and that seemed like it was enough. Well, apparently they've now "updated their systems" so that if you have an order for a date after August 27, you have to enter everything again. No warning, wedding is this coming Saturday, no help, just an extremely buggy automated system that wouldn't take my license from the state right next door. Everything I was told 2 months ago is out the window. No promise that the delivery will even show up on time for the event. I've found an alternate vendor that gave an excellent impression, will have the equipment there well in advance and work with our vendor, happily answered all of my questions, and the whole process was handled within 30 minutes. Rent-a-Bit treats people as they should be treated. Seeing this high an amount of similar reviews and also no-shows, unusably damaged equipment, etc, it really seems like they want the money but none of that actual pesky rendering of services. Go anywhere but here. Their price is only 25 bucks lower than anyone else, and the awful service couldn't possibly be worth it even IF you get what you ordered.

Here's what happened during July of 2014 (I was moving across states and meant to write this earlier- sorry for the delay) - I picked up a rental car, funded by the insurance company of the lady that dinged my car. The location manager was very pleasant, and since this Hertz is inside of a JW Marriott parking garage, he provided me with a "paid" parking tkt to exit the garage, which didn't work when I was exiting. I had cars backed up behind me, there was no attendant at the booth, and the hertz office was closing when I was getting out, hence I had no option but to swipe my card and exit the garage. I was charged $120, which is for the many days the car was in the garage until I rented it. I called the Hertz manager first thing when they opened the next morning, he promised to work with the Parking Services company to refund the charge. Weeks of following up, after which he resorted to telling me that the parking company was not responding to him. I told him, like anyone else would, that that was not my problem. Hertz needs to refund the amount to me if the parking guys are not responding, as I was basically charged for a Hertz car parked in their garage, during a time period that I was not even the renter. He said the best they can do, is to give me Hertz coupons that I can use - which is basically forcing me to rent from this crappy place - when all I wanted was my money back! I repeated that to him, to which he arrogantly responded with "do you want the coupons or not". I had no option but to tell him yes, something was better than nothing, and guess what - I never ever received those coupons either. Tried working with Hertz through twitter and facebook, their customer support backed off saying this was a licensee location so they handle their own billing issues. The insurance company as well as my credit card company pointed the responsibility to Hertz as well. I finally did what I should have done months ago, although I still strongly believe that was Hertz's responsibility, and I called the parking company and they refunded me the money within 24 hours! When I asked them why they would not respond to Hertz's requests since more than a month for the refund, they told me this is the first time they were ever hearing about this issue - Hertz had never contacted them. No surprise, the Hertz manager was not only a fraud but also a big fat liar. That was the last time I ever rented from Hertz, I stick to National/Enterprise now. This might not be representative of Hertz overall, but do yourself a favor and do not rent from this location - Ever. You can thank me later.
