This will be second time going to this restaurant. My husband & I decided to go again on 6/26/19, not only for the food, but for the family vibe atmosphere. I had the pleasure of having the most sweetest waitress name Jessica (don't know her last name), but she's adorable & petite with a giant personality. Had me laughing after a long, tiresome day. I have to say I was very disappointed in the food. My waitress on the other hand made up for it. I ordered veal Parmesan and the veal tasted as though it was frozen. Not a good place to go to if they get your order wrong. you are expected to pay for whatever they give you and they will bill you more if you replace it with something else. Waitresses will offer something in exchange, then add it to your bill hoping you don't look. I was handed a receipt with no extra charges, to get told at register i need to pay more.. I do not think i should of paid for something that was offered to me in exchange for my suffering when my order was wrong. i cant even begin to write how bad their attitudes were at the register.. awful hospitality! and they don't care if other customers cannot take the smell, they will light up the saganoki right in front of you.. personally to reduce that vomit smell in the place, you should do it in the kitchen first.. there was at least 4 other tables getting ready to leave from that smell issue. i was going here for many years, but after today's rudeness i am done. read more

I have been here several times over the years. For the area I would not recommend a lot of places to strap on the chow bag. But it has a pleasant inviting atmosphere and the waitresses are always pleasant. The food is standard issue Greek fast food. Which means it's better the typical greasy spoon at about the same price. The food is always consistent. But that is what I look for when you don't have a lot to choose from. I have been coming here since I was a little kid. This place stills has good quality food. I ordered the gyros with fries and my partner ordered Monte Cristo. The bread that was given was fresh warm and delicious. Their lemon rice soup was very tasty. Decor could be updated. The decor seemed old, with fake brown flowers and old booth chairs that move when you shift your weight. Oh and horrible elevator music. But the food was of very good quality. read more

My moms food came out with no bacon the first time, and the waitress forgot to bring out her fries, on top of that when it came to the second time the dish was brought out, there was no cheese on her sandwich. The manager Marina handled our issue terribly! We asked to speak to her and she treated me badly when I asked if we could get the breakfast sandwich off of the bill. She told me that because my mom ate half of her sandwich it, "defeats the purpose". Which really makes no sense, what purpose? We came to eat as a family, not for my mom to watch her whole family eat without her. NOT TO MENTION, our drinks weren't brought out until we got our meals. Just had a terrible experience, service-wise, here....food was fine. Had to wait for over an hour for just 5 plates of food. We were on a work break so obviously didn't have all day. Food finally came out, but had to ask for to-go boxes due to our rush...and then that seemed to take another 10 minutes after I had already explained my frustration and our hurry. Went to pay and the cashier was unapologetic and unfriendly. We come here pretty regularly, but not sure we will for a while after this experience Appreciate the comment back for Jedi's. Good morning called in to ask about the breakfast specials, and the lady that answered phone sounded annoyed because I wasn't aware of the specials. I didn't get a chance to ask pricing because of the aggravation in her voice. So I ordered French toast with eggs, bacon, and hash browns she said it comes with juice, that's fine. I ordered another meal with just eggs, bacon and raisin toast, she told me about the juice but I asked if I could get coffee instead. When I got there and saw the price of the second meal I was floored. Explain to me what breakfast special do you know of that cost $9.50 to begin with? I understand that price for the first meal, but that price for eggs, bacon, and raisin toast is ridiculous. I could have gotten an omelet for that ridiculous price, maybe even cheaper than the $9.50. WARNING!!! If the waitress makes a mistake on your order and you as the paying consumer attempt to send it back, the waitress will guilt you into keeping your food. She said if I send it back the owner will make her pay for her mistake. There's two things going on here, either the owner is a tyrant or this waitress has made numerous mistakes. I did not complain to management because I do not want this waitress to lose her job, but... the owner needs to be aware of the guilt trip that is being laid on his customers due to the failure of his staff. To my dismay, the last couple of times out of the hundred times I have been here for lunch, it feels as if the final product has declined in quality. My simple request for today's lunch was a bacon country wrap with no gravy inside and burned hash browns. I then made a comment to her that they gave me nearly cooked potatoes last week and to please make sure the cook, my exact words, "burns them". Ok sir, no problem. Last week, the scrambled eggs inside my wrap were runny and the potatoes were under cooked. Today's result... The wrap was filled with gravy and the top 1/8 inch of the hash browns were cooked and underneath was almost warn, which leads to why I am posting this review. To the owner... First, please retrain your waitstaff to not burden your customers with their or the kitchens mistakes. I am there to eat lunch without the guilt of others errors. Second, I'm not sure if it is legal for you to make the waitresses pay for their or anyone's mistakes. Please review Indiana's law on wage garnishment. I don't think there's a way to have a worse restaurant experience. Just left after being threatened and kicked out because I contested my bill. Ordered a dinner that came with soup and salad, and ten minutes after ordering, I was told that my dinner wasn't available. No apologies, just a menu thrust at me with a waitress staring at me while I soaked in the fact that my friends' meals would be out any moment and anything I ordered would come out after. I finally ordered french toast, which was hastily made and therefore eggy and charred. Then when the bill came, I had had enough. The soup and salad, which was a part of my initial dinner order, was on my bill. I asked to speak with a manager and that is when I was told if I didn't pay for my bill, the police would be called and I was no longer welcome there. Horrendous, embarrassing, and ridiculous. Of all the family style restaurants in NW Indiana, Jedi's has the best lemon rice soup by far. We stopped there today for lunch. Having said that here is a review of today's lunch: My wife had the broiled chicken off the seniors menu. Her remarks were the rice was very good. The chicken was very bland. Little to no seasoning. She ate one filet and took the other two home to season. The rice pudding was excellent. I had the liver and onions off the seniors menu. This is the third time I've had liver in some 30 years. It's not allowed at our home (per my wife). It gives the home an awful smell while cooking and its not all that good for you. Going on........my liver was wayyyyyyyy over done. Even the waitress commented that it looked burnt. I have to agree however I ate it. Who ever was the line cook today needs to go back to cooking school. Liver is not cooked to well done and beyond! I agreed on the rice pudding. Just like my mom use to make. We've eating there before and loved it. We will go back but will not be ordering what we had today. read more

I live in Highland, In. It has been years since I have been to Jedi. Now after being there yesterday, I remember why. I ordered a stuffed pork chop dinner. When I received it, there were mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a blob that was supposed to be the stuffed chop. I couldn't see the chop itself, it was covered by the stuffing. My first two bites of the chop had chunks of bone in it. That stopped me right there. Ate the veggies and mashed potatoes. I left the pork chop. Was afraid of chipping a tooth. When the server brought my check, she didn't ask how was my meal. Same with the cashier. At least other restaurants care if you like their food. Not going back. At Ridge Road and Indianapolis Blvd. there is a place called Purple Steer. Never a disappointment. Prices are better and the food it great! Go there. read more

I ordered the whole fried catfish ala carte. It came with salad, potato (I ordered fries) and a big piece of Broccoli with what looked like an American cheese slice on it. The catfish looked like they used old grease for starters, then I taste a small piece and it taste like an aquarium and has a sour smell. I call my waitress over and tell her the fish is spoiled she says ok I'll get my manager, waitress takes the plate away and ask if I want something else I ask to see the menu again, the manager comes over and claims that the food isn't spoiled because she tasted it when my waitress brought it back and she's from Ireland and knows what fish should taste like and I shouldn't say her food is spoiled just say I didn't like it. The manager then tells me if I want something else she's going to bill the salad and fries separately. Went with my 6 year old daughter to Jedi's for dinner and we had a wonderful dinner...the waitress was awesome and food was good but as my daughter was eating her dessert we hear 3 kids on the other side of the half wall from us...the youngest was about my daughter's age and the oldest maybe 10 or 11 ...all 3 were cussing up a storm...mind you there was no adult around...these kids dropped the f word like it was a regular part of their vocabulary.... After about 10 minutes of this I had enough and we went to pay the check...while there I told the old guy that was running the register how upset I was and he blew me off telling me that they were the owners kids...my thinking is that is all the more reason for these kids to have respect for others around them...I will never step foot in this restaurant again read more

I have been coming here at least once a month for a long time. The food is always good, but the service the past 6 months or so has been terrible. The place used to be packed on Friday nights, but now it's a ghost town. We ordered dinner and waited about 15-20 minutes to get our soup/salad and bread. Then about 5 minutes later, the meal was served. The server had no sense of timing the meal. After the food was brought, it took another 10 minutes just to get some ketchup as the server disappeared. The people sitting at the booth near our table asked us if we had any butter as they experienced the same slow service. I haven't been to Jedi's in quite some time since it burned down and reopened. It was always your typical Greek ran restaurant offering an extensive menu and good ol quality meals for a decent buck. But, recently, I decided to stop on my way out to do some shopping. I was pleasantly surprised at the new layout and decor. Really nicely updated. Some of the same employees are still there and some were new faces I hadn't seen before. I ordered a Reuben and OF COURSE some Lemon Rice soup. (That's a no brainer!) It was all delicious and served with a smile. The price was spot on and welcomed me to return when I went to pay the bill. Jedi's was a pretty great place before they burned down and reopened but now they seem to have kicked up their customer service a notch or two which only makes them better. The food is always good and consistent and so are the prices. They accommodate large or small dining parties, have terrific food and there's always plenty of parking. I recommend Jedi's if you're ever in Northwest Indiana. 5 stars!! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. We were seated promptly but as soon as the waitress came it all went downhill. My mother ordered and said she wanted the denver omlette the waitress just stares at her and says, "is that it?". I said, " what comes with it?" She huffed and listed all of her options. We ordered for the rest of the table and then we waited. It was over an hour before she came and said the food would be out. I was getting pissed, but I had two hungry kids with me so I tried to wait it out. Then fifteen minutes later she brings the food. The food was dry and the pancakes were hard as rocks. The kids ate the dry food but I sent back the pancakes and the waitress acted like it was a freaking chore. The pancakes took so long to get that the other food was nearly eaten. She never came to refill our beverages either. I had to ask. Unbelievable. I will never go back. Worst breakfast ever! read more

Where do I start! Service was bad and manger was loud and did not care!! Was charged for dinner but when I asked for dessert the waiters said you order alacart but was charged for a dinner. My husband ordered 12 oz burger med well and got an 8 oz very well done burger. (He is a chef with an culinary degree he know the diff of what he ordered and how it should look) When we told the lady manager she said sorry, but was very loud and rude. Will never go back. The food was below average but the worst part was the busboy cleared the silverware off the dirty table next to ours and wiped it with his fingers and put it back in the clean silverware caddy. He put the napkins that were touched also back with the clean ones. He proceeded to set the table with the finger-cleaned silverware, napkins and coffee cups. What restaurant keeps the clean utensils and placemats with the dirty ones? DISGUSTING! I won't be going back. The manager said he was new which is no excuse in my book. I visited Jedi's on Sunday May 5th, looking for a quiet place to eat and read my magazine. When I entered there were many people sitting on the north side of the building and no one on the south side. I opted for the quiet side because the busy side had several TVs on. There were three people at the cashier station. An elderly woman talking to a male worker and a young woman with a cook's apron on. Usually I'm greeted right away and taken to a seat but this time I was ignored. The older woman and man went in the kitchen so I asked the younger woman if I could sit on the quiet side and she said it was okay and she gave me a menu. I started looking over the menu when I heard the older woman yelling Ma'am, Ma'am very loudly but didn't think anything about it and continued to try to make a selection. The next thing I knew the elderly woman was standing next to me with an angry look on her face. She started yelling at me saying I could not sit there and I had to move to the other side of the building. I wasn't upset about having to move but rather the way I was treated, almost as if I were a misbehaving child. This woman was rude and dismissive and embarrassed me by treating me so poorly. Most restaurants will put up a sign or a rope saying This Section Closed but there was no signage here. It appears this woman was either a manager or perhaps an owner because she wasn't wearing a uniform of any kind. Her dismissive attitude was disgusting and when I told her the young woman said I could sit there she spun on her heel and marched off, not offering to show me to another seat. I got up, took their menu back to the desk and left as she was still yelling at me. I usually frequent this establishment every couple of months but I will never go back there again. Maybe this woman had had a bad day, but a professional business person should know how to welcome customers instead of shaming them in their own establishment. read more

Really liked the 2 host that were there today. They were nice and very respectible people. I would ask for them by name if I knew them. They were very well spoken and polite. Had gerat energy. But yesterday I was there and a skinny girl with glasses was there I guess she was the Manager. She was very DISRESPECTFUL to the cashier. Just had an all around nasty demeanor. Just had one of the worst experiences of any restaurant in Northwest Indiana. I ordered their Wednesday special baked mac n cheese. It wasn't baked nor did it even taste like cheese, more like a flat paste. It was topped with chili powder, too, which I thought was weird. The owner wouldn't take it off the bill, didn't even offer to provide a substitute or anything, and my meal cost $10. I am very disappointed and will not return to this restaurant. read more
