My husband and I moved to the area in July and needed a new chiropractor... So random how Dr. Smith was recommended to me (details not important hahaha) but one thing that stuck in my mind is the lady who recommended drives an hour, monthly for adjustments-he's that good! His prices are fair (actually less expensive than most). We've been under chiropractic care for over 30yrs so definitely know what to compare this to. We were soooo pleased with our first visit! Dr. Smith's wife runs the front and is a sweetheart and he's super personable and friendly. He's thorough when determining the physical issues and explains everything well! His technique is unique and very effective! He was able to diagnose and treat us, individually and we left there feeling awesome! He's not about creating a plan, or having his patients schedule a bunch of appointments. He believes his patients should listen to their bodies and act accordingly. We really appreciate that... I've been to many different chiropractors with various styles of adjustment for 30 years. Dr. Smith has the most UNUSUAL style I've seen because his work revolves around the atlas or C1. I've had a chronic left groin issue for 10+ years and was told that I had to do my PT exercises well... for the rest of my life. That lasted for 1 year. After I quit the exercises, the groin pain returned. I just had my 3rd visit with the good doctor and my groin pain is reduced 75% and that's with NO PT exercises!!! I'm encouraged that this groin issue will be cured with a few more treatments. So grateful for the referral. read more

My Meniere's Disease has gotten completely under control since I started with Dr. Smith about nine months ago. Prior to that, I was getting dizzy spells that could be debilitating. I just moved to Ojai from Lancaster, Ca. During my move I had fallen down two steps onto the floor. (Thank God I didn't break anything.) And 3 weeks ago, I was getting out of my car and twisted my left knee, which set me back on movement to continue unpacking my boxes and setting up my house! (a little history) In 1994 I went to a Chiropractor for the first time ever in my life. My neck had tremendous pain, with minimal range of motion. My friend recommended a local chiropractor in Lancaster. Little did I know she was an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. She taught me about the method of Upper Cervical Chiropractic. The treatment she provided with this method gave me my life back. One statement I remember, "When a car runs over a bump and knocks it out of alignment, you may need to get you car realigned. So when you fall this may knock your back/cervical out of alignment, which may need an adjustment. with treatment" Because of my fall before I moved to Ojai, I knew I needed to be adjusted. Had to stay off of it most of the time) The second day after my first adjustment, I was talking on the phone with my sister. I have been going to Dr. Smith for over a year now, and he is hands down the BEST Chiropractor I have ever been to and one of the best doctors that I've ever received treatment from!! The upper cervical adjustments and other treatment he uses set him apart from typical chiropractic care, making him incredibly more effective. I really appreciate how knowledgable and patient he is, how he genuinely listens to you when you explain what's going on, and how he focuses on truly doing all he can to help you feel better and not just enough so that you come back for more sessions. One time he told me "hope we don't see you", implying that hopefully I would feel well enough to where I don't need to come back, and that mindset keeps me coming back on the rare times I need it or I push myself too far. I was referred to him by my mom, who was referred by friends who have gone to him for years, and he has helped several I know greatly, especially my mom who got very little help from traditional medical treatment after a bad car accident, but in 5 sessions with Dr. Smith, relieved 80-90% of her pain and it has since stayed away as long as she doesn't overdo it. He has helped me with my shoulder, neck, mid back and low back issues caused by a car accident and overuse/work injuries. Shoulder, neck and mid back are no longer issues, and low back only reoccurs if I'm not careful or I think I'm Superman, haha. To finish my review, I have to mention how wonderful Dr. Smith's wife Kim is. She's the one who runs the show at the front desk. She always greets you with a smile, is very pleasant and accomodating when calling in to make an appointment, and adds so much to the experience of getting treatment here! About 2 months ago I went to see Jedidiah for some neck issues I had been having. He spent a few minutes with me, did a couple manipulations. Shortly after my visit (within 1~ hour) I was experiencing mid back pain (never had back pain in this area). It also aggravated my neck issues.
