Overall a great visit. Recommend getting there early for lunch. It is a small venue and fills up fast. Updated: attempted to stop in for lunch. We were seated promptly. Very good food..we moved to Hampstead over two months ago, and Jebby's is almost across the street from our community. Our first visit...the owner's son (Chris) introduced himself and got our names (he's the man behind the bar), and the owner (Jebby) introduced himself. The food is VERY good..they have specials every day they post on Facebook and haven't had a disappointing meal yet, and they have draft beer, bottled beer, wine, and hard liquor specials everyday too. I'm slowly working my way down their menu...once it gets colder I'm definitely trying their chicken pot pie. Two days ago I had their Slim Jim sandwhich...hardly slim...a hoagie roll literally STUFFED with thin sliced ham with melted swiss, tomatoes, lettuce and with thousand island dressing, and I had the fries with that. Delicious. And VERY filling. My wife gets their mixed berry cobler with french vanilla ice cream and while she gives me a taste, she eats all of it, and it's a big portion. Very friendly staff (hope they can hire more people...they're trying..) and their food equals a five star experience. And NO I'm not an employee or connected in any way with the restaurant. I've been meaning to try this spot for awhile but don't often head to Hampstead. The place is humble but inviting with all inclusive sports decor. We sat at a high top at the bar and were greeted quickly. They had good drink specials and they serve wine, beer, and liquor. We tried the crab soup, the wedge salad, the steak and cheese sandwich with fries and the chicken pot pie. We thought everything was good not great with some exceptions--the soup was great. The cup was largely portioned, reasonably priced and oh so tasty with a good amount of crab and bread served with it. I didn't, initially, appreciate that my wedge salad didn't have any cheese on it but it ended up being tasty bc of the bacon and blue cheese dressing. The steak and cheese needed SOMETHING--some seasoning or some way to enhance the flavor but was generously portioned, hot, and cheesy. The fries were my favorite kind--they looked handcut. And the chicken pot pie was flavorful--it just needed salt. All in all, if I lived close to this place I would be back. read more

What a wonderful place for lunch! The atmosphere made us feel like we were with friends and the servers couldn't do enough for all of us. The menu was great and had so many specials. My meatless burger was fantastic as was the portobello mushroom sandwich. Couldn't decide as they also had wings that looked so yummy!! Definitely going back and would recommend it to everyone. The atmosphere is boisterous. The menu is extensive and the food was good. I got the crab soup and it was very flavorful.. You need to be careful though it can have pieces of the inside crab shell in it.... It's fresh My husband got the chicken pot pie and the crust was impressive to look at, very flaky but not much taste. The actual chicken filling was very good however. We got desserts. Hubby got warned peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I wasn't impressed, the cobbler part was mushy and no distinctive flavor‍ I got the warmed brown cake with fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream. The cake is to die for...I wish I'd gotten double cake with fruit and forget the ice cream (I never say forget the ice cream) I would definitely go back. read more

This place doesn't look like much and you might even miss it driving down 17. But it hands-down has the best mac & cheese I've ever had, amazing wings, burgers, and much more. What a great little find. The food was darn tasty and the service was all about southern hospitality. We really enjoyed our meals here. The server suggested the the fried chicken and mashed potatoes and we enjoyed it immensely. Our boys had a burger and turkey club and they both liked theirs as well. Had it not been our last night in town. We likely would have been back. I don't give 5 stars easily! And not to mention the food was half as expensive as the meal we had the night before and that meal had been just so-so. The place is not very big but we got there about 5:30 on a Friday night and we were seated right away. By the time we left people were waiting for tables. This is my favorite place in the area. Kind of a hole in the wall, but great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. Their wings are phenomenal (some of the best I have ever had, and I've had a lot -try the gold rush), and their pot pie is amazing. Every time I come home from college I make it a point to visit. I mean, we'd travelled that road 50 times and never stopped anywhere, so why not? And lo and behold, Jebby's popped up not a mile from where we were, so that's where we pulled in. And if I could sum up my review in three words, it would be: Wow. Just...wow. The menu was not your typical bar food. I had She Crab soup, a fried oyster po'boy, and breaded fries (yes, breaded fries--they're as decadent as they sound). My husband had the oyster stew, a fried egg/bacon/cheeseburger, and onion rings. All fresh and hand made (even the dressings and dips). YUM. They did warn us that game day Sundays are super busy (and might be standing room only) so keep that in consideration for your visits. First: We are northerners in love with southerners' food. I say that because we don't always know exactly what we are ordering, but we always dive in anyways and on our last trip to visit our son we put Jebby's on our 'gotta try' list - here's how it went... 1) Clearly a local place. Walked into a one room bar/restaurant establishment that was fairly busy on a Thursday night. Everyone was clearly enjoying themselves and it felt very friendly and inviting. 2) Fried green tomatoes and she crab soup for me. Both were excellent. Actually, the she crab was spectacular. Seriously. 3) Hubby had a braised pork dish over a bed of rice and peas. Note: peas were not green, but rather black - eyed (there's a north/south thing happening here folks... our peas are always green - yes always - so it was a surprise). The food was eatable but will not return. I had the seafood platter which I had high hopes for being we live in the seafood capital of the Carolina's. Nope. The tarter sauce tasted as if it had buttermilk in it. I'm not a fan. The fries I was served were cold and I had to ask for another serving. My husband had the pork chops which he said were merely ok. My daughter had the fish n chips which I was proud of for her going out of her comfort zone to get. We split a brownie Sunday which was the best part. The tables were properly spaced. People wore masks to enter and then removed for eating. Today a friend and I decided to visit here for lunch. Knowing the rave reviews, we felt we make a good choice. We arrived in the middle of midweek lunch rush. There were 4 tables empty (or 8 to 10), so it didn't appear that crowded. Our waitress immediately helped us - asking for our drink order. My water seemed to have something floating in it. Thinking it was the lemon, I thought I would give it a few more sips and wait. We inquired about the food. I asked about the breaded items (shrimp po boy and fried chicken) - both items were breaded with flour and corn meal - which meant I can't eat it. She didn't seem too concerned about accommodating an allergy. I ordered the burger as did my kid. The kid burger was easily 4 oz smaller and is about 2 dollars less than the adult burger, but it's way overpriced for the size. It doesn't even include a drink, which I didn't notice until after I paid. The burger is pictured with my review. The wait for our food was long. Tables that were seated well after us had their food before us. Once we got our food, it was enjoyable but I was still bugged by my water. It felt filmy so I asked for a fresh glass, explaining that there was some white specs floating around. She quickly helped me out with that, but the water still tasted filmy. In the end, we were one of the last people from the lunch rush to leave. Even the check took longer than ideal. Our waitress had brought us boxes but not the check. We had to wait until she finished her conversation with another table before we could get it. I normally tip quite well, but giving a 15% tip for today's lunch service felt a bit high. read more

Portion size could have fed two. Perfect ambience. Lots of TVs to watch the playoffs and comfortable seating. Only a bartender and one server but service was attentive and courteous. Finally got to try out Jebby's after having several friends recommend it, plus it has great reviews. Jebby's is small and cozy inside with a large bar and enough tables to seat 40-50 at full capacity. I came in the evening, the low lighting made it very difficult to read the menu, but it was definitely an interesting one. The Bloody Mary was very good, my only gripe is that the drink was mostly ice. It was like ordering a drink from Sonic LOL. We tried the She Crab (I'm a huge fan, and people raved about it in previous reviews) as well as the Clam Chowder. Both soups are amazing, I thought the She Crab was slightly salty, but the Clam Chowder is one of the best I've EVER had. Entree's were shrimp and grits, the "weekly special" pork tenderloin sandwich and some wings. The were all very good and I would recommend each. All in all, I really enjoyed food and will be back, the reviews are legit. read more
