Waited 26 minutes today to get my order of 2 chicken sandwiches, fries and a drink. Others ordered after me and got their meals before us. Food was incorrect when we finally got it but we were already gone as we had to get it to go. Used to be Heff's Burgers and did not make it very long but We think this place will. They turned it more to a modern neighborhood bar and restaurant with a full service bar, drink specials, HAPPY HOUR, great menu, great specials and value and most of all - Great Service - with a smile. What makes it so special is Alexis the bartender who serves drinks and her signature Margarita - hand poured on the rocks or frozen at only $5 and $4 Happy hour price but wait there's more- On Saturday they are only $3 so we have made this our Saturday evening hangout. First time trying this place out. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted immediately by Buddy and another gentleman who open the door for me as I was walking in. It kind of threw me off but when I walked in I turned around and saw their big smiles. At first when you look at this place it looks like you're walking into a regular burger joint but this is a full service restaurant what I would call it. To your left is the bar everything to beer and liquor. To your right is traditional seating and they also have a bag patio that is covered right now but I'm sure during the summer it'll get uncovered. I spoke to you buddy a little bit and he informed me that on Thursday nights they have live music you can check out their Facebook page for information on the musicians that will be playing or the bands. My order was placed by a lovely spirited girl named Hunter. She helped me make my selection I ordered the nooner Burger. It has a fried egg bacon cheese lettuce tomato topped with zesty cilantro aioli sauce. Let me tell you this burger is out of the world. You can order it on white or wheat bun. The burger patty itself does not look pre-made. It looks like a burger that you made at home the burger is rough around the edges Jagged edges just like a burger at home but the tenderness of the burger is superb. At first I took a bite of the actual burger itself and in my opinion it may have needed a tad bit seasoning but when I bit into the actual Burger itself everything in the burger gave the meat taste. The bacon was yummy it was not too thick but not too thin crunchy but yummy. The bun fluffy. The burger does not come with fries or onion rings you have to order that on the side now let's talk about my onion rings. I have never tasted onion rings like this before. They were perfectly seasoned without any condiments. I requested some of the aioli sauce on the side and later smeared that all over my my burger just because I like my burger a little more wet then normal people. I dipped my perfectly seasoned crunchy onion rings in the sauce wow wow wow. Every once in awhile Hunter would come by my table and ask me if I'm okay do I need anything she greeted me and she talked with me she was very sweet. When you're finished with your meal here there are no trash cans the waiters and waitresses will take care of take care of you. As I was leaving I was greeted Again by a sweet bald man I believe his name was Wayne. He asked me how my food was and I told him it was excellent. I requested a to go menu and was greeted Again by Buddy. Customer service at this establishment far exceeded my expectations. By the way they have an amazing peach mango iced tea. So much for going and working out instead my car took me to JC's Burger Bar definitely will come back here again I recommend this place to everyone. read more

We ordered the chips and queso, cheese fries, a Pollo Picante chicken taco, The Works burger, and the nutella shake. We loved it all! The queso was fresh and had a little kick to it. The fries were pretty good, and had good seasoning, topped with the queso. The taco was also good, topped with the queso as well (we like our queso).. The burger.. was delicious! Cooked to perfection, great flavor, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The nutella shake was amazing! Greeted promptly and sat in the bar area. Overall, nice layout and well-decorated. Tried this establishment with a large group of family and friends over the weekend. Young man at the counter was quite friendly. I wanted a wheat bun and Turkey patty for a #7. I saw and heard him clarify my order with the kitchen. Problem 1 it came out on a white bun and my fries were barely warm. I asked for another bun. Problem 2, I was given beef and not turkey. My patty was pink, greasy and shaped differently than the other turkey eaters. I was told it was turkey and that it would come out pink again, if they remade it. I didn't want to argue with kids in our party but after 2 days, I'm still not pleased. read more

Service was great! Food came out fast and even though drinks were self serve there was a constant stream of people asking if we needed a refill. Burgers were great! They were big, put together well, and tasted pretty good. Fries were okay. We got a large portion but there was a slight off taste, sort of like they were fried in old oil. The food here is amazing, I would have given it 5 stars if i wasn't so disappointed by the environment. I would never recommend taking a child here. The music they were playing was extremely inappropriate. We had a newborn and a very impressionable 2 year old (who repeats everything she hears). So to have a song playing that's main chorus is "if you're a scared motherf****er go to Church" 17 times in a row is very disappointing. Then the next song had n***a, bi***, sh*t, fu**ing, in the chorus which was again repeated over and over again. I would never want to pay $6 for a kids meal at a place where my child will most likely learn one or two cuss words. I hope this music is not played all the time, but if it is not, then I am disappointed by the poor customer service to not at least change the music when a young child is present. We have really liked JC's since they opened but tonight was a different story. 2 of us dit at a 4-top in the bar, 15 minutes before we even get acknowledged. One of two beers come, wait for the other. Salad missing ingredients, orders not right, 'bartender ' is the counter person. No management on site, heard manager left so they need to get someone in there quick. Not sure if we'll be back which is sad since we've been visiting there every couple of weeks. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Will NOT be back! My husband and I went in on Saturday around 4:30. There was one girl working behind the counter and we were completely ignored because all she was doing was tending to the people in the bar area. Then some "regulars" came in after us....they walked in front of us and told the girl behind the counter "Give us our usual" and went to sit down. She still completely ignored us....started working on THEIR drink orders while we just stood there and waited. We got no "hello"...."I'll be right with you"....nothing. When she finally did acknowledge us she was VERY unfriendly and it was obvious she did not want to wait on us. The food is good but NOT worth dealing with this kind of TERRIBLE customer service! Next time we will take our business and money elsewhere! If I could rate them less then "Not good" I would!! We have always had a wonderful experience eating at JC's and tonight was no different. I decided to branch out and try three of the smaller versions of their menu favorites as sliders. I also requested that they be medium rare. JC's was busy and backed up so it took some time to get the food out of the kitchen. That being said, they did not cut corners or push the food out. They paid attention to my 3 tiny burgers and they were perfectly cooked. It's not an easy task to cook such small patties to a specific temperature. Time and time again JC's proves that they are a cut above any other local burger joint. The onion rings were so spicy I could not eat them, and they probably were the reason for my upset stomach. Wow. I'm very impressed with this place, especially because Mesquite is notorious for slow service and lackluster food. The Boss chicken sandwich is flavorful, filling, and goes perfectly with the crispy fries. The original burger is also great, especially with the generous amount of green chiles.
