At the time, she was working at one of those walk-in salons that didn't require appointments. She eventually moved to a different shop and I moved to Tennessee, but that didn't stop me from driving back to Columbus for a great haircut. She's extremely talented, attends classes and conventions to stay up on the latest trends, and is a wonderful person. If you don't live in Newark, do yourself a favor and take a road trip. For me, the stylists at Sandra's (especially Sandra) are all long-term-relationship-worthy. They're sweet, know their stuff and want to please clients. Great cuts and color. Recently, a friend was in town and mentioned she hated her current haircut. I snapped a pic to confirm and we were definitely on a straight path to fixing it. I called Sandra's to see if we could get in but that was a resounding 'no'. (Great stylists + many clients + Saturday = not happening.) Sandra offered up a new stylist I hadn't heard of: Michael Ahmeti. Okay, sold. Michael is fabulous. He fixed my friend's botched cut with such ease that I booked an appointment for highlights on the spot. He is personal in that he wants you to be completely happy but will not let you try to achieve something you saw in a photo if it's impossible. (Example: he told my friend, "You have a beautiful neck but a short cut is not happening. No.") Back to my appointment: while my (flawless) highlights were processing, he checked on me regularly, explained next steps, etc. The color processed perfectly, no toning, correcting, etc. the cut was amazing and the blowout was selfie-worthy. I googled Michael after leaving the salon and Yelp reviews from his past salon were amazing. He's a certified gem. How he landed in Granville is a mystery/blessing. Final thoughts: I did post a selfie after my appointment and comments ranged from "love this!" to "this is so pretty I want to scream!"

He also got me an appointment on short notice at a time that worked for me. He's very responsive to customer needs and really builds your confidence, which is half the battle when getting your hair done. :) Just a logistics FYI - when you call the number, you don't get a receptionist. You will get a list of phone numbers and names so you can book directly with the stylist. Have a pencil/paper ready! Very happy with my experience and I will definitely come back again.

I arrived on time but had to wait a bit. The first stylist seemed disgruntled and worked very slowly to dry a small portion of my hair In the back. A half hour in, the stylist stopped working and said her next client was there. Well, she looked around, and after some discussion with a few people, found another stylist to step in and finish. THEN I found out what happened. The stylist my appointment was with booked a more expensive wedding updo over my simple "blowout." When I showed up, they had scrambled to find someone to take me (stylist number one). She obviously didn't want to and dawdled until her next client came in. I had gotten highlights multiple times there by someone else and never paid over $300 with tip. Anyway, my hair was yellow and extremely streaky, had hard lines across and couldn't wear my hair half up because of this. I also left the salon with my hair still damp. She charged me $55 for a "short to shoulder" hair cut when she trimmed my ends and it took less than 5 minutes. Lastly, it's just funny because during our conversation she was talking about how she was still building her client base, how expensive living is, how she needed money, etc. And then she over charged me for a mediocre service of something i'd expect of someone who just graduated hair school. Never went back. Owner tried to call me, however I decided not to call back due to past reviews I saw and I would not have felt comfortable for Molly to try and fix anything. For the standard of blonding at this salon, Molly is not up there.

Morgan was extremely sweet, some constructive criticism I have would be that the massage didn't feel very personalized to my anatomy/musculature and physical needs- pressure was light to medium and her technique was a lot of upward brushing and up and down scrubbing with her knuckles over very broad areas. With a deep tissue massage, I look forward to deeper pressure targeted towards working the knots in my muscles. This was more of a relaxation massage, which can be great, but when you're anticipating some relief it can be kind of a let down. Another thing would be offering a bolster to help body positioning, by the end of the massage my back was hurting pretty bad. I think they just have one massage therapist right now, but I would definitely try another therapist if they got one because I really enjoy Bellezza.
