I've never had an eye exam in my life but sitting in my meetings throughout the work week and not…read morebeing able to see the projector without squinting, having a hard time seeing at night while driving, etc I thought "I better see if maybe I need glasses." I have pretty decent vision insurance through my employer which I believe is EyeMed. So I went to see which places accepted my insurance and this was the closest place to where I lived that did so. So, I was able to schedule an appointment online (totally a plus for someone who HATES doing anything over the phone) and arrived right on time. I filled out some basic information about myself and as soon as I was done, they took me back for the "pre-test". The woman was super nice and explained to me the process because I told her I'd never stepped foot into an optometrist's office. Then after the "pre-test" I went right in to see the doctor for the eye exam. The doctor was very friendly and also explained everything so I knew what to expect. After the exam he said that I definitely needed glasses and was "near-sighted." I'd have to get into the habit of using them pretty much daily for the first year except for when doing laptop work or reading. I then was told to go to the lobby and pick my frames. The lady who helped me was super, super helpful. Explained all the options. Told me what she thought looked better (even if they were the more expensive ones I didn't mind lol) And I ended up getting a pair of really cute Calvin Klein frames with the thinner, more durable, Polycarbonate lenses and the anti-glare addition for $50.96. Since the frames were designer, they offered any second pair for 50% off, which is a good deal, but I decided I didn't need it. They do give you 30 days to take advantage of that offer, however, if you decide not to at that time. I had a really, really great customer experience here especially since it was my very first time ever coming to this type of doctor. Everyone was super helpful and informative and I didn't feel rushed, at all which is nice because I am SUPER indecisive. It probably took me an hour to decide on a pair of frames and they didn't mind a bit. I am reading some of the reviews and seeing many people had issues with their actual prescription once they picked them with it either being too strong or not strong enough. I am really hoping that isn't the case for me but we will find out when they come in! If I had to say anything "negative" it would be the fact that I had to wait 2 weeks before I could pick them up. That was a bummer but overall, awesome customer service! I can't wait to pick up my glasses and see if they match the experience I had in the store. Thanks so much America's Best!

I took some time off work to get a routine eye exam so I could renew my contact lens prescription…read more I went in and waited 20 minutes before I asked the receptionist how far they were behind. She told me it would be 30 more minutes. I got there two minutes early. A 50 minute delay in my humble opinion, warrants a phone call to let me know they're running late. Or, they could've at least told me when I checked in and sat down. As it was, I was out of time and had to leave to return to work. Unless you're bored, and have all day to wait in their waiting room, don't expect them to keep your appointment time. They were also late the last time I was there I figured it was a fluke. The doctor's time is important. Yours is not.

I went to the Bethel Road location today in hopes of getting a very old pair of glasses repaired…read more The glasses are my husband's and he has a lot of problem not being able to use a contact currently. The glasses have one lens with correction but the right eye had no lens because he has a lens implant. My request was for blank lens in the right eye sector. I was greeted in a very friendly manner and advised that the cost would be $10. I had just left Lenscrafters where I was advised the cost would be $250, would take 2 weeks and they could not guarantee the work in used frames (I can understand that part). I am very pleased with the cost but especially with the service I received. Very caring, very understanding and very apologetic that I might have to wait awhile (it was 18 minutes). I recommend this to anyone who needs glasses, contacts or even questions. The really care about their customers - the other customers left with big smiles and thank you as they finished their visit too. Super people, super service.

It is with a bit of sorrow I have to write this review because I have done good business with this…read morecompany on several occasions. Recently I brought some office glasses for repair where a hinge broke. After a while the same side broke again. I called to follow up and learned I was still under warranty. Whomever I spoke with seemed to be kind as usual. I brought the eyewear in on Monday and was immediately put off by the person behind the counter doing whatever he was doing. He spoke rather dismissively telling me he would be with me momentarily without actually looking my way. After he continued doing whatever he was doing at the computer he asked me what I was there for. After getting my name and looking me up, there was a bit of confusion as to how my name was listed. Again this in itself was not an issue for me but his attitude was stone cold I "DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU!" Once he found me he looked at my eyewear and immediately said, "OH THIS BROKE WHERE THE PLASTIC IS, THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX THESE". No customer service, empathy nor reasonable expression from one human being to another let alone a customer. This was all I could think about. Then he said, "I could bond them but I doubt it would last a day. Sorry!" It was a very sarcastic "sorry" - more like a f&^! you 'sorry.' It was at that moment I realized i needed to get outta there before I went beyond my own personal character. I took my frames home and added a little super glue to the point of breakage. I'm glad to say its been over 48 hours now and I've worked in them for some 22 hours since Monday without a problem. The glue is sturdy and I am satisfied with my own limited 'craftsmanship.' The fact that he didn't choose to make a fix for me is one thing. I find that disappointing in itself. But the fact that this man with a nasty ass attitude spoke to me like I was a worthless waste of his time has me rethinking whether I will ever seek out their services again. To reiterate, this was my first negative experience as opposed to the many times I've been there and received friendly service. I could imagine several reasons why this could be which I won't mention. One I will mention is I had just cut my grass before driving to the store on my lunch break. Perhaps he thought I was a hobo. But again, regardless, I am still seething when I think of how this person summarily dismissed a person who takes pride in spending money with good businesses. I was taught in the first grade not to judge a book by it's cover. I would have asked this person his name. But I was so put off even now I don't care.
