I recently ordered some hard-to-find shampoo on the JCPenney website and had it shipped to the store to avoid shipping charges that almost cost as much as the shampoo. I placed my order on Jan. 4 and didn't get my ready for pickup email until Jan. 15, which I thought was a little slow--but it wasn't something I needed urgently, so I let that slide. The ready for pickup email had a convenient link to allow me to choose between coming inside to pick up the item or using their curbside service. I decided to try curbside, pulled into one of their clearly-marked spaces in the parking lot (this area is in the large parking lot that is shared with Ulta, Red Robin, etc. - not on the other side of the building), and told them which space I was parked in. I waited about 10 minutes and then checked the web page I'd used to check in. There was an error in red that said "We're having some trouble, please continue to wait or try again later." I decided to just go inside to see if I could quickly grab my item, but the lines were really long, so I just left and went home. About 5 minutes later, I got a call from a JCP associate apologizing for not being able to get my item out to me more quickly. I wasn't able to run back over there, but I went back the next day and repeated the curbside process, and this time I had my item within minutes. Overall, I think this was a positive experience and think it's a good place to consider when you're shopping around for bargains--they often seem to have really good sales and coupons on top of those sales. read more

Every time I shop here they seem to have fewer employees. There is usually only one checkout in the front open, often with a long line. Returns and online order pickup are both at the checkout in the men's department. This line is often long and always seems to move very slowly. Despite the long waits in the checkout lines this is my favorite JC Penney location. The store is well organized and orderly. I often order online and pick up in the store. I especially like curtains, bedding, and home decor from Penney's, and the online selection is extensive. The parking lot in front of the store is large and there is limited parking near the side entrance. read more

tried to return a shirt that was a gift and didn't fit me and they were beyond rude. they had horrible attitudes and spoke to me in a very rude manor. i had a gift receipt and they said they could do a "45 day low" return since it was past sixty days which i said was fine. the shirt had no tag on it and i did not take the tag off so im not sure how it ended up off but the lady did not know how to scan it without a tag. and then someone else came and proceeded to tell me since i didn't have the full receipt so i couldn't return it. but i had the gift receipt! overall they were mean and it was terrible customer service. i will NOT be shopping there again. i feel very disappointed and disrespected. and when the lady saw there was no tag she proceeded to pick up the shirt and say "jesus!" and roll her eyes at me! read more

HAIR SALON I always go to a different stylist, many different salons, because I dont get my hair cut often. I decided to try out this salon so I could use my JCPenney credit card. I wanted a trim and my bangs cut. I have had bangs most of my life so I know how they are supposed to look and I can pull them off. My stylist was Julia. She was very nice but did an absolute terrible job cutting my bangs. She cut them dry and later jokingly mentioned how "you never know how they are going to spring back." I have very straight hair and, as I said, my hair was dry so there should not have been any "spring back". She also cut my bangs in front of me so I could not even see what she was doing. When she finally moved I was in shock. They are so short, uneven, thin, choppy, and LAYERED. I did not ask for layers in my bangs. I didnt mention anything at the time because they were so short, there wasnt a whole lot she could do with them and I usually never fully like my bangs when I first leave the salon and take the weekend to mess with my hair the way I like it. This was not tHe case. I didnt realize how thin and uneven they were until the next couple of days. I got it cut on Friday and called the following Monday to speak to a manager. I was told she wasnt in yet and she might be in the next day or day after that. I called every day that week and wasnt told until friday that the manager was on vacation. I finally spoke to the manager today, saturday, and was told i need a receipt to be refunded over the phone, which of course I could not find, or I would have to come in. If i was told this earlier in the week I could have planned my weekend around it but already had plans to get my hair fixed and other things. Tish, the manager, was very professional and handled my frustration very well and actually called corporate to retrieve my receipt and got me refunded over the phone. The end result turned out okay but the hassle to reach someone and the original hair cut was disastrous. Will not be returning but appreciate the professionalism. read more

I love jcpenney's because of their unique items you don't see in other stores. But, I am trying to say this as nicely as I can, they do have some employees that are a little too old to be working there. There is one lady that is extremely old i think she told me she was 90 but i could be wrong. First of I worked there for over a year and she still thought my name was HEATHER. I purchased an online order to exchange items i had already bought 2 were stained one had a piece that stabbed into my foot on a boot. First off it took almost an hour to do this. Im a mother. I had things to do I felt bad for my poor daughter sitting there waiting. She put the name heather on my order because she didn't even ask me what my name is and so i'm hoping i can pick it up under the wrong name... as if that isn't bad enough one of the pairs of boots i ordered was in the WRONG size now i kept telling this lady over and over what i wanted the sizes all that. And she STILL managed to get it wrong! Im honestly SO mad. I wanted my clothes and shoes right in the first place but they couldn't be! So i went to exchange them and it STILL can't be right! I will go to fix it ONE more time and this time if it's not right i'm just going to have them return it and ill shop elsewhere. update: i went back to pick up my order i was able to pick it up. BUT on the exchange for the boots that were the wrong size they spelled my name wrong on my email so i won't even be able to know when it's here. I worked here for over a year and somehow none of the workers or even managers know how to spell my name! bad customer service to not check spelling. read more

JC Penny Portrait Studio review. My husband and I just moved to the area and were looking for a photo studio. I'm super picky and have previously paid $700 for newborn portraits at a private studio but was desperate for Christmas photos of little one. I got a Groupon for the studio and went in with low expectations but was blown away. Pam was our photographer and she was so good with the baby. The pictures turned out beautiful and the prices were so amazing. I'm used to super expensive photos and high quality. These are fair prices and high quality. I am going back for more portraits. They also do dogs!!! It's always the last appointment during the week for dogs, but they do them!! I recommend highly for any of your family portrait needs. This isn't the cheesy portrait studio of the 90s, they know what they're doing. read more

This location is okay. Something really needs to be done about the parking lot-it's a mess. The location I'm used to is in Greenwood attached to the mall. It's a lot nicer than this location and bigger too. I only went because I had a $10 off $25 coupon and I was in the area. I couldn't find anything I liked so I ended up getting underwear (You can never have too much) The selection in Greenwood is better too. read more

This is for the salon inside JCPenney. Last Friday I went for what was supposed to be a haircut and to have my roots touched up. I asked for an undercut (already had one just needed it shaped up). I do not have an undercut at all now. Then she bleached my entire head. She had the bleach on my head for over an hour. My hair is fried. I have a concussion, so it's taken me this long to be able to write this and to call the store. I just called, and I was first told that my hair being fried goes with getting it bleached. No no. I've been bleaching my hair for a long time. This doesn't happen. There's nothing I can do about it either. Do not go here. I'm out $150. I couldn't tell just how bad it was because she styled it and put a bunch of product in it, or she would not have been tipped. Because Sephora is inside JCPenny, they get my bad review. I bought Sephora brand eyeliner and a naked 3 pallet by urban decay. My first eyeliner pen fell apart as soon as I opened it. The second one clumps. I have to dig out eyeliner clumps from my eyes. It's ridiculous. The eye shadow crumbles when you touch it. I went to the store for help, and the girl told me she didn't know what to tell me. I just spent $54 on the pallet. Tell me something. When I complained to Sephora on their Facebook page, they said they couldn't help me. read more

I like JCPenny's because they usally gave a sale or clearance going on. I normally buy towels and household goods. I had been to this store once before and it was a fine experience. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. But today I went in to exchange something, and I made it to the register....the older lady cashier was one the phone. She never acknowledge me, placed the person one the phone, and after standing there for 6 minutes.. she finally called for help. It just so happened that Tanner was already heading this way to this counter. He greeted me and asked if I found everything ok. He made my exchange and new purchase. And thank me for coming in. He saved my experience...because the older lady didn't care. read more

I bought 2 $40 shoe for my daughter. They worn it for like 30 minutes and my girls had a bad blister on their feet. I try to exchange or return it but the person I talk to the customer service saying that I can't exchange or return it because it's already been used. So I call different Jcpenny store one in castleton and I talk the lady in the phone name Monica, I told her the problem and so on. She said I can come to the store and return it shouldn't be a problem . So once again I return and here we go this lady told me that I can return it. This is my three try to travel to the store and get denied to return the shoes that I bought to my daughter . I'm upset that they tell one thing to another . I will never shop Jcpenny again . And by the way I have few friend had bad experience to this store. They told me the same thing the customer service they should fire a bad and horrible person who handle the customer service . This review is for the hair salon. On Sunday I went to go get my hair cut/trimmed. I wasn't expecting much but a usual quick trim. I made an appointment and was taken back as soon as I got there. My hairdresser's name was Korsika I think. She was really nice and treated me very well. She said there was a promotion for a deep conditioning treatment for free if you spent at least $30 so I got it. The chairs for the washbasins are really comfy. Korsika gave me a really relaxing head massage and then sat me under the dryer. She was really friendly and talked with me quite a bit. I had a really relaxing experience. I will definitely be going back in the future. read more
