While visiting my parents in Las Vegas, we found ourselves in need of a good toaster since theirs had decided to break. So, we stopped by JCPenney to hunt for a bargain! This particular location is quite large and very well organized. I was impressed by the wide variety of merchandise they had in stock. As we walked toward the kitchen supplies section, I noticed they had some nice sales on other items, mainly clothing. However, our focus was on finding a toaster! They had several well-known brands, like Cuisinart, on sale. Unfortunately, my mother felt that all the toasters were too large for her needs, so we ultimately decided not to make a purchase. Instead, we spent a good amount of time exploring the various departments and checking out other items they offered. read more

One of the last remaining classic department stores. I'm nostalgic about and surprised to find one still around. It's nice to be able to go in, browse, and try on clothes -as opposed to just ordering online. Near the registers I noticed that they offered JC Penney branded bottled water. Very good customer service. Plenty of parking available. read more

This JC Penney is probably the worst in the city and it's the closest to me which is unfortunate. I came in looking for something to wear to my holiday party and was first assisted by a really nice girl folding clothes in women's and another nice girl who walked me to suspenders when I couldn't find them. Let's get to the suspenders!! I am perusing the selections and see some I like that are supposed to come with a bow tie. I see there are about 4 with no bow tie and some still have them which means they were clearly stolen. The tie colors left were not what I needed for my color choice so I decided to ask the register what my options were. I go up to the register and wait in line. I didn't even walk up and interrupt anything going on. I then get to the register and explained my situation to a blonde lady who was very condescending and patronizing but I still proceeded to ask my questions. I asked since the tie is missing but I do want the suspenders, could the be discounted. She spoke in circles for a bit then called a young girl they claim is a manager. She barely listened to what was going on and stated "you must buy the defective item at full cost". My jaw literally dropped. It's on camera if anyone views this. Another lady at another register even chimed in incorrectly saying loudly "no they are separate they don't come together" when the package CLEARLY says bow tie and suspenders. I still kept my cool. By this point they're engaging people in the line as if this is some kind of spectacle. Then I walked the young manager Shannon? over to the items after she clearly was showing signs that she thought I was lying about the bow ties coming as a set. When she saw the sets with bow ties and the defective sets her lips got kind of tight and she said "oh I was unaware". So what was my explanation at the register? For folly? After saying they send the items back, she PUTS THE SUSPENDERS BACK UP FOR SALE ON THE RACK. I said I thought the policy was you remove the item and send it back. Why are you putting this back (along with 3 others missing ties) back on the shelf? She then mumbles "oh yeah" and takes them to the back. That is when I asked for another manager (Lisa) because clearly the issue wasn't policy it was just denying me any kind of relief for the defective item that I still wanted to purchase. So I ask some guy in returns and he tried to make me sit and wait without calling the manager. I let him get his line down when I should have interrupted at this point, and asked him again to call the manager. Lisa was a bit nicer but it was still a patronizing experience and the whole time I had nothing but a good attitude. She did acknowledge her subordinates could have handled the issue a bit better and still didn't even say "hey just because this became more than it should have, etc" it was like yeah that's it! Needless to say I will not be back. I rarely shop here anyway and I just needed something for a quick work party. Too bad for me! read more

JCPenney was the place that I did frequent when we did have it in my hometown which sadly closed years ago and as I did move on and accepted the fait mom was much more set and sad to see it go as she shopped there for essentials and have always return to shop whenever we find one though since Covid we haven't been able to travel much and knew times must've changed not just the items the carry but hoping we'd find some during our visit to Las Vegas. Excited to find one we started to explore and didn't do so well myself but didn't stop me for trying to find something for mom as she's not quite the shopaholic like me. As we browsed we needed some help and tried to find a sales associate which was quite difficult did manage to find someone who got in contact to find one that could help us and did. Yes times have changed and finding a staff and cash wrap was quite difficult but with a bit of patient and understanding we manage to find what we needed including some items on sale...yay! I come here mostly for in-store pickups for online orders. The reason I prefer doing that (my neighborhood isn't bad) but I just dislike the fact that JCPenney shipping to home will leave all of our items outside our gate even though we leave it unlocked and so it's probably not the best idea to have a couple hundred dollars worth of items outside the front of your home. And so I come to this. I want to say I have a huge admiration and appreciation for a gentleman called Joe. I've dealt with a few people at the online pick up counter. Some have probably had better days but Mr Joe was excellent and upbeat and overall extremely nice. The reason I'm giving him a shoutout was because I had probably asked for like more than two handful of items and the boxes they shipped the items in was bigger than him. And when he came up to the counter he took it in stride and even asked if I'd like to check if I had received everything. Which I did. Then just this last time as I was once again picking up another order I saw him pass by with a cart and he was making his way to a customer to deliver a mattress to them out the front of the store. Never with a bad attitude. So very commendable Mr Joe you are a great asset to JCPenney. read more

The bed department has moved to the far right corner of the store. Joe was knowledgeable and assisted us. Nothing against him. He knew his stuff. We learned the difference between a tight top and a pillow top. Not all of the beds are in stock and available to test out. None of the current pricing was right when we visited because that night, at closing, the pricing would be changing. I have been iffy about beds and so I am always inquiring about the guarantee. Yes, returns are accepted here, however, there is a restocking fee. And then you'd have to order the same brand in order to have credit. I also checked out the shoe department (the pricing was weird, there were two prices, so I didn't know what the real price was, and there were no sales associates in the area to ask) and we took a look around at the womens clothing. No more Sephora, but there is a beauty department. The parking lot was nearly empty because there were few other customers inside shopping. I can now say that I like Dillards over this department store (when I was a kid, this was one of the stores we would regularly visit; we also went to Sears, Montgomery Wards, Macy's and Emporium Capwell). I usually look at the Black Friday ads every November, but didn't really see anything of interest. read more

Wish I could give them ZERO stars! Worst customer service for pick up. Today at 11 am right when the store opened, I went to pick up an online order that my mom placed for me over the phone. I had all the info, the email with the barcode and the app with the barcode and everything on it. They refused to give me my packages without my moms ID. Well they were supposed to add me on the pick up but they didn't listen to her. But that's not the issue; they hit pick up before they even got to my car. Why? Supposed to view ID first, then confirm pick up. I get it, fraud is common now a days. But I literally had everything to prove it. And I work LP so why would I even try to commit fraud. I had the app, I had the email with showing a barcode and order number. Everything.. anyways So when my mom called to add me back on, they told her we can't because the order has been picked up. Well I didn't have the items at all, then we tried to do a return on the app but once again I didn't have the items to ship back or return in store. So my mom called the customer service area 4 times and no answer. So I went in my self to see 3 people not doing anything. Finally I see they got a call from my mom. I went in to show them I have the app, everything with the info on it. They finally gave my stuff an hour later. Next time have your employees select pick up after they see ID not on the way to the car. :) I just refused to leave without my items after it said I picked it up. We will do ship to home next time that's for sure! read more

Of, I could give this JC Penney a zero, I definitely would. As soon as I walked in I got the sense of " regret" from this location. My visit was to look at some jewelry for a family member. I was greeted by an older lady with brown hair and red lipstick. I asked to see some items and what the sale price was. Little did she know, I had already researched the pricing online and I had the current prices on my phone. Each time she told me a price on an item it was " conveniently " at least $100 - $200 more than the online price!!! Once I questioned her on the discrepancy she immediately called her " manager " Maria over ( eye roll ). Maria then started playing around with the numbers in a bogus way on the calculator. I showed her the exact same item online that was in her hand and she claimed it wasn't the same item. ( ARE YOU KIDDING ME ) They are definitely running some kind of a scam over there to make more commission!!! STAY AWAY!!! read more

Came in because of the new JCPenney beauty section. Was so excited to finally check it out since it recently went viral and was disappointed at the customer service. I walked around the beauty section 2-3 times and not one of the 5 associates there acknowledged me. They sure did assist a white gentleman looking for cologne. I stood around for a few minutes and decided I rather spend my money at the Sephora Kohl's next door which I did and got better service. I don't recommend this location. read more

Came to return a products I initially ordered online. Went to customer service and was bal to do the clothing return. Then was directed to the jewelry department to do the jewelry return. The associate in the jewelry department required my assistance to help her complete the return. Literally had to tell her that my order number was what she needed to use to complete the return. Then had to help her locate the item I was returning on her computer screen. Interesting. Once my return was completed I noticed the funds were being refunded to a card I didn't have as it was a gift card. Went back to customer service and eventually the associate had to call the LOD (floor manager), who came and initially told me she was unable to assist me further. After a polite fuss, she went to check with the general manager who was able to accommodate me further. I appreciate the LOD and Omar the sales associate for being patient and assisting me with my concern. Just disappointed that it took some guidance from the customer for them to figure out how to resolve the issue. read more

They have a lovely window treatment section! This area also hired two lovely ladies- Lorna & Rosa;) wonderful dispositions and quite the window treatment experts! Tip! One can open a JCPenney card, receive a percentage off (not a shocker huh most stores provide that)! However, Lorna and Rosa are great at providing the other discounts running specials such as friends and family etc. these two lovely ladies take the time in providing their knowledge for the right fit! Now, Joe (a fellow born & bred NYer) is in the customer service area, this is in the kitchen area. He's great as well! Another bonus is this location has a scaled down Sephora- go LVMH. read more

This place is a big rip off. I went to change the color of my hair the next day after I washed it my old color came back and the new color was completely gone that means the put a washable color just so I can leave the place happy and they charged me $253.00 that money was like throwned it in the trash as they didn't do the job I asked to be done. Good customer service, decent selections, and plenty of parking. The mall is not as popular as it once was for shopping, but this JC Penny is the few that is not closing. There is a lot of heavily discounted items in every department. From women's apparel, menswear, home decor, and jewelry. Some parts of the store looks dated and other spots look ok, bit everything was well organized and clean. I think you can tell they are trying to see what works. They have a nice makeup section too, but I was looking for some t-shirts and blouses, which I did find and all at a very reasonable price. I would go back even though it is a little bit out of my way because sometimes I just don't want to wait for shipping and I actually want to see the material in person instead of a description. With a name like JCPenney you would expect excellent customer service. You won't find it here. I stood in line for quite some time just for a single shirt that my son wanted that was less than $10. It happened to have no tag on it and rather than doing a price check FOR me "Nilda" tells me that she can't ring it up unless I go find another one like it. So I'm supposed to lose my place in line and go get another shirt and stand in the line all over again? Instead, I just walked out and told her it's not worth it. Nilda, it is YOUR job to make sure the customer is taken care of. You need to go back for some serious customer service training! read more

Selection and prices here are pretty good. Styles are meh as is quality. Customer service in this store is abhorrent. I've been in twice this week as I recently rediscovered this store but holy cow never again. Both times the cashier was abrupt and rude. I had a coupon that apparently flummoxed her and instead of trying to help me figure out how to make it work she dismissed me until I insisted. But she clearly had no desire to assist. I love JCPenny as a company. They always have great deals, financing on mattresses and large appliances and a great rewards program (that you don't have to have their credit card to enroll in). It always gets me down knowing that big box companies like this are going extinct. For this particular location though, I've had an array of experiences (but for the most part, positive). Today's experience was great! I made my purchase (which was on sale for 40% off). At the register, the friendly associate mentioned he had a coupon to get me more savings (basically 50% off after taxes), so nice win there. I haven't been to this location for some time, it's nice to see they added mattresses and large appliances. Looks like I will be coming back soon for the stove and dryer I need to purchase as the prices were better than most places I've been looking. read more

I'm disappointed. We were looking to get a watch battery replaced and went to the jewelry section to ask for help. One lady was legitimately helping a customer, but couldn't take two seconds out to let us know that she'll be with us. So we moved to the other kiosk where there were two sales representatives helping one lady. Surely they could have taken some time out to assist me? Nope. The dynamic duo refused to even look my direction as I waited at the counter patiently for five minutes for someone to at least speak to me. Five. Minutes. I finally had it and went to Sears Grand where people at least responded to you. Great quality clothing, but some of the sales representatives obviously need a lot of work in the training department. read more

I went here today and found cargo shorts like I was looking for. The store didn't have very many shoppers and it was easy to look for what I wanted, find that indeed they did have what I wanted, try it on, and then check out all within 15 minutes of entering the store. Since there were so few shoppers, parking was a breeze and I was near the one entrance. The store is undergoing some renovation. There are several areas blocked off with plastic walls and they're doing work inside. I'll have to come back and see the improvements. I spent all day driving around looking for some plain black face masks. Unfortunately other stores such as Target, Walmart (etc.) we're either out of stock or didn't have small-medium size. Good thing I didn't give up and still searched until I found this JCPenney location that I've never seen before. I tried my very last luck and called the store to double check if they had any in stock before heading there. An employee named ALYSSA answered, she was very kind and answered all my questions such as sizes, and if I was able to use a barcode I found on their website, in store because it was a different prize in store than online. She said said she'd call me back to double check if they had it before I drove there (but I still did anyways) I get there, went inside the store to look for the "pick up/return" registers because she told me she'd be there and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how she called me back to let me know that they do have them and that she has them ready with her at that registers and I told her I was already in the store walking towards her she was so sweet and had an amazing customer service, she really had good energy. This store was also clean and organized, I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, I will definitely be coming back to this location! I've been shopping at Penney's forever! I grew up on the catalogs and enjoyed shopping with my mom as a child. We could always relied on quality. Now the concept of a free standing store isn't new, it's recent return is the best idea they have had in a long time. I like parking just outside the door, walking in and shopping, then when I am done, walk out to my car and move on to the next shop on my list, or head home. I don't like walking malls, and putting up with crowds. I don't think I have seen the store really busy, during the holidays, and weekends, I have seen a little bit more than usual crowds, but lines aren't long at check out. I have found some really good gift ideas, and since they have big and talls, found some things for my really big and tall father! Love JCP! read more

It breaks my heart to say this about such an old and venerable retailer like JC Penney, but I can't help but think they will soon go the way of Sears and all the other big box stores of years past. This store is old and antiquated looking. The stock looks like it's there for senior citizens, who are not the [handful] of customers you see in this store. There is no customer service since you can't find any employees working on the floor except at the cash registers. And they don't seem to care whether you purchase anything or not because all you get when you ask them a question are a shrug and a void look. Customer service is dead in this store and most other JC Penney's. It's a shame because it all comes down to the employees and they're lack of customer (care) service. The problem is when this and other JC Penney stores close, they will be the first to bitch and complain that they've unfairly lost their jobs. read more

The worse service ever. I ordered something online to be delivered to the store. It has not gotten there in the time I was told it would. Plus no one can locate it. The online J.C. Penney says they can not refund this because it is up to the store. No one answers the phone at the store. I went there and they told me to contact online customer service. PLEASE train your staffs again!!!!!!! I came here few days ago with my 2 year old daughter. I saw some cute boots for my daughter and I was trying them on her to see if I should get a bigger size or not & I decided not to get it so I put it back where it belongs and within a few seconds some white lady with curly hair maybe mid 40s-50 literally ran up to the shoe box and opened it to make sure the shoes were in there. The way she did it was SUPER obvious!!! I went back to her and said I didn't take anything and that was pretty rude assuming I stole something. And she didn't even look at me, she just said "I was just fixing it" .....yeah ok lady, I've been coming to this location for 5 years now and you actually think I will steal a $20 shoe????? Come on now! I spent over $200 at Sephora that night and if I can afford that I'm sure I can afford a $20 shoe! This is disgusting and it's sad how racial profiling still exist! I'm not coming to this location ever again and yes I made a complaint to the corporate as well! read more

I've had TWO unpleasant experiences at this location, so I just had to leave a review. The first time I came to this location, I came with my sister who is 20 years old. We were browsing the jewelry and she found a ring that reminded her of our late grandma. She wanted to try it on and check the price to hopefully get it! There were two associates, one whom was already helping a couple make a purchase and another older woman with short grey hair. My sister asked if she was busy and she rudely replied yes she is and walked away. I stood there stunned. She walked over to a woman who was not purchasing jewelry but checking out with several clothe items. Once the other associate finished with the couple, she ignored my sister and proceeded to help two other couples. Is it because my sister is young and single they didn't want to assist her? Once the rude employee was done, my sister had to ask her for assistance again because she was clearly ignoring my sister. This same visit I bought some Nike shoes for my niece. Once I got home I realized the security tag was still attached. I took the shoes and my receipt back to this location. They only had 1 open register and a line of 7+ people. I found another associate putting away clothes and asked him to assist me with removing the tag. He straight up told me no and that I needed to wait in line. I said no way, this is not my fault. He walked me to the register and had the cashier remove the tag for me. But to originally tell me to wait in line when he sees the ridiculously long line is ridiculous! I will NOT be returning to this location, and I hope management monitors these reviews. read more

Some of us, oh, maybe 50%, wear bras. Sometimes they need to be replaced. Easy if you want to buy what you've always bought. Not so easy if you want a change. I wanted a change, and I'd read about a brand that was supposed to be superb. Problem was that few stores, high end or low, carried that brand. J.C. Penney was one of those stores. It said so on their website, which displayed so many different styles of that brand. Old J.C. was never one of my favorite places to shop. But I had to bite the bullet and go, first on July 4th, when some website that listed open stores on the holiday said they were open. Ha! Long drive for nothing. So I went back yesterday. Department stores in general are in trouble. And Penney's in particular. Lotsa trouble. After my experience, I can see why. I drove back to the store, went to the right department, and searched high and low for that brand. I came up empty, so I went looking for a sales clerk. I walked the whole store, finding not a single salesperson in any department. Disgraceful. Finally, I spied one in the very corner of the store, folding shirts. And that's when I learned that these bras are not in the store, only online. I don't know about you, but I find it very difficult to try on bras in the tiny fitting room on my PC screen. So I can order them online, right? I have no idea how these bras fit. I would have to pay shipping, but I can save money on that by driving to the store AGAIN to pick them up. And then if they're not good, I can drive back again to return them, probably eating the cost of the shipping, or return them by mail, with me paying the return postage as well. Retail is going to hell, and if my experience at J.C. Penney, is any indication, I'll be throwing the first shovelful of dirt. read more

Why have I not been to JCP in years??? I went to check it out recently and was pleasantly surprised at how great this store is now. The clothes are cute and updated. The kids section has great clothes and even better prices. I also was happy to see a big and tall section for men. My husband is 6'4" and needs longer items which are so hard to find at most stores. They have a whole section here for him to shop and not have to spend a ridiculous amount for the clothes. This is also a full service JCP with a home store, salon, and photo studio. For those of us who remember boring JCP mall locations across the country a stand alone store like this one is a nice change. This one has plenty of parking, pricing now that corporate has changed strategy yet again is back to being competitive with Kohl's, and the cashiers here do a good job of getting you out and on your way. But all of the good stuff about JCP comes to a screeching halt if you decide to special order anything and ship it to this location. You have 10 days to pick up a special order and in that 10 days you can expect to be called repeatedly. If you tell one staff member you'll be in to pick it up you can expect a call 20 minutes later from someone else asking when are you coming in? The lack of communication among the staff, the quoting of policy like it's holy scripture and the general negative attitude have made me swear that I will never, EVER have a special order shipped to this store again. Paying the extra delivery fees is so worth it compared to dealing with the staff. 2 Stars. If they didn't find new and annoying ways to make special orders so miserable I'd give them 2 more stars. read more

My review is for the Hair Salon. One day a couple of years ago I was desparate for a good stylist. I had just quit the one I was going to for 11 years. I called JC Penney Hair Salon asked for an appointment that day, they got me right in. That is how I met Shala. I have been going to Shala ever since. She is amazing. She listens to me, she styles my hair so beautifully. She is kind and gracious. I will continue to go to Shalas she is the best in Vegas that I have found. She is flexible and works aroung my schedule. She also can do waxing on eyebrows if needed. I highly recomment her. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! There is a sign on the display that indicates sale price of $14.99. There is another sign that says buy one get one - Doorbuster. The store manager REFUSED to honor their own signage when they didn't ring up properly. They rang up at $15.99 which was wrong as well. It's no wonder brick and mortar is going away with ignorant customer service like we experienced. I will NEVER shop here again. read more
