Really clean store and face masked are required. I haven't been to JCPennys on a long time, so I decided to visit this location to see if they had some reasonable wedding shoes. The store has a very large shoe selection, but silver heel and open-toed was what I was looking for. Well I found them and they were $89. Very cute and affordable. If I could give zero stars I would. I placed an order online two, almost three weeks ago, and according to tracking, it shipped in two orders. I received shipment two but NOT shipment one. Tracking on shipment one also says shipped, but there is no tracking number on my package, and I have been billed for both my shipments. I have NOT received shipment one. There's not alot of JC Pennies that are actually "good" to go too. This place however is Phenomenal and carried such a great bulk of the the items and randomness I needed to cut down on the people I needed to take care of for Christmas. Loved the selection of graphic tees, Christmas sweaters and other variety of men's apparel. Prices aren't bad. I thought the place was closed because I was parked towards the back of the store where the doors are, guess they were actually emergency exits. read more

This place was a mess, looked like something exploded all over. Employees were unfriendly and not very helpful, even the managers. Didn't expect much from a JCPenney, especially in this area. Also caught this one employee hiding in the clothing racks on her phone instead of doing her job. Don't remember her name but she was a short and skinny little girl. read more

I love JC Penney. They quite often have some pretty cool deals! I just got a pair of jeans for $11 and a cool shirt for $2! They have a nice selection of men's clothing for me to chose from. I am a size 2x shirt, and that puts me in the big and tall section. I used to dread shopping in that section at most stores because my selections are normally limited to "RAPPER" clothes like Sean Jean, Rocawear, and other labels that would keep me from looking age appropriate, and not to mention I kind of find those labels tacky!(no I Don't want to dress like I'm 19 years old @ 33!) The shoe department is awesome, and I have gotten towels from JC Penney as well! read more

Just moved to this area and needed some new foundation due to running out of mine. This is the closest Sephora so I decided to give it a try. Went in and no one greeted me... okay no big deal. Proceed to look at Bare Minerals and one girl was close by so I asked for a face wipe to take off the makeup I already had on my face to try a new type of foundation. Great that she gave me one but then she walked away and didn't asked if I needed help. Then 5mins later another girl finished talking to a customer and asked if I needed help. I replied yes; then proceeded to ask what color is equivalent to another color... she said she would have to put it in the computer and be right back. She came back and said her system was down and couldn't match. Then said none of the colors would match up... I said okay. She said you could try maybe these three... I said okay. A little about myself... I'm a licensed esthetician who does makeup on the side. I went in with the intentions of buying 1 product that I already use but decided to inquire on a new product to see if this location knew their products. If you are new to makeup or not sure what to buy... I do. It recommend coming to this location. They do not know their products nor do they know how to apply or give advice. I did buy the new foundation in my color; there was a color that would match. The girls who work here are not makeup artist so they must not know how to match colors or inform customers of what products go together to give you the look you want to achieve. On the plus side... 1 of the girls was nice when she was not socializing with her coworker! Hope this helps customers. read more

Very disappointed and feel some type of way . I haven't been to the mall this whole year . I decide to go out today and shop for a new coat , found a very cute one . Dressing room was closed ,but there's a mirror right in front of where the dressing room door is . I waited patiently while a nice family tried on there coats for about 10-15 mins . Why would you put a mirror there if you didn't want people to use it ? Once they were done , I proceeded to try on the coat in front of the mirror. Out of no where a younger white employee walks up to me and tells me that's not aloud and that I can't try on the coat . I politely told her that I waited while that family tried on their coats and how come she didn't tell them that it was not aloud. She stated that she did not see them . Sure you didn't !!! Then the employee tells me that she needs the coat that I tried on to put it into " quarantine " her exact word ! Wow !! I saw no signs that you could not try on a coat . And if that was the case , the whole store should be put in quarantine. Everyone's touching everything . I even saw people trying on shoes , little kids playing with toys . People touching the rails of the escalators . Jc penny has lost my business forever , and lost out on me spending almost $200 in their store today . I do know the employees name but I will be nice enough not to mention it . So , so disappointed! I really hope it wasn't about my race . read more

I have shopped at JCPenny before and as a returning customer, my experience was awful I was accused of stealing while I was in the store and was followed throughout the entire store. The way they were speaking to me felt like I was being harassed. After I left the store I showed them I didn't steal and they treated me like I was a thief! I have never been to a store and been accused of stealing for no reason before here! Never will RETURN! You just lost a paying customer because of false accusing. read more

Last 5 times I went into the JC Penneys store at the Louis Joliet Mall and bought something I showed them my military ID card and was told that they did not have a military discount. I informed the girls yes they did and was informed it was only on Veterans Day. I informed her no it wasn't that I had talked to the management at the JC Penney's at the Lewis Joliet Mall and I was informed it was everyday 5%. I feel like a beggar asking for 5% and being treated like a fool every time I go there. If you have a military discount honor it. You're not losing any money you're writing it off on your taxes anyway. read more

They used to have a good selection of big and tall clothes, but they must have changed brands because they dont have the selection that they used to. They have done some extensive remodeling as well. I went to the Sephora store located inside of the JC Penny's store in the Joliet mall. Lauren was the sales associate that helped me out today, I told her I was in a hurry but she used all the tools to match my skin perfect for liquid foundation in my time frame. She also showed me which brush was the best to applicate the liquid foundation. She also helped me pick out a lip color that perfectly matched my new hair color. I ended up walking out with "make up forever" foundation and a sephora brand foundation brush. She gave me a sample of the Marc Jacobs smack kiss pop lip color so I can show my boyfriend and make sure he likes it before I purchase it. She also signed me up for the sephora beauty insider card because I did not have one. She also let me know that I get a free birthday gift since my birthday just passed on Feb 3 but they did not have any left to give out so she told me to come back in about a week to receive my free gift. I am very thankful that she was the one to help me today and I will be back for the lip stick (will be requesting her for help if available) and my birthday gift in the near future. Since there is no option for Sephora here is my review. I spend a decent amount of money at this store, but I won't if I'm going to feel like I'm not appreciated. There were 2 ladies working and I get it that it was busy, but I asked the cashier for help and she said she would be with me when she could then found me and said she told the other girl I was next when she was we done with her guest or the next employee coming in I was next. I asked a quick question and it was half answered and she walked away. Saw the girl with a new customer and she didn't even come see me to see it I needed something she assumed because she saw me talking to the cashier j had my question answered and rolled her eyes when I said no. Then the third girl comes on the floor and helps the first customer who had already been helped. I asked when the manager was going to be there and the cashier brushed it off and said she didn't know. The amount of unprofessionalism I experienced there today was sad because I truly love the store and makeup. Shelves are very empty and doesn't appear that business is that booming to explain the empty shelves. I've gone in there three times now looking for a lipstick that the website shows is in stock only to find the shelves empty. I don't mean "just that color is missing" but rather the whole collection is gone! I've also been looking for eyeshadow brushes and that section is empty and picked over as well! This review is strictly for the Sephora inside of JCPenney. On my first trip in this particular store the beauty consultant was no help (didn't see her there anymore either), however, today I came in and was greeted by new faces that were very helpful and courteous. The manager ( I believe), Lupe seemed to be very busy with a lot of customers but was very polite and made sure to help me as soon as she helped the other customers first. I wanted to purchase a palette that they did not have in stock but she let me know she would call and see if they have any in stock through the website and that I could order via phone in store and have It shipped directly to my house for free. Nice! They were still available and I was able to make that purchase and use a coupon and gift card I had. I also wanted to buy some other products and Lauren helped me and was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about the products I wanted. She made me several samples and did not leave until All my questions were answered. 5 stars alone for her! I left the store feeling very happy about the service I received from both individuals. read more

The Sephora inside of JCPenney need a personality improvement. There's no help! I always feel I'm ignored. The first time in the store I waked in and right back out. I was ignored by two workers who were stocking. One of them could have stopped and take a second to greet me. The next visit was just as bad. I interrupted a conversation which must of been a really good one because no one didn't bother to look up and see who was in the store. I asked about an eye primer and was told it wasn't in stock. After, that there was no help. No showing me other primers or offer me an sample. She went back to her conversation with the other workers. I will not be back any time soon. They are super busy around this time so it's understandable that not everything could be restocked on the shelves, although I really badly wanted an item and I had to go there 3 times to finally get it. The only reason I'm finally getting this item is because an employee named Iris. She had to go through the boxes to look for my item and she answered all of my questions.
