HORRIBLE Customer service experience by a manager name ISAURA. We went in to return an item with receipt in hand and tag attached. She stated I was out the return policy and I mentioned to her how do customers supposed to know if in the receipt is not stated. She started getting an attitude and snapping. All, mentioned was to get store credit. She said no I will get the lowest value for the return. I said there is no way you will give less than what the receipt states I paid for not taking less. This is one of my favorite places to shop both online and in the store. You can't beat the fashionable quality clothes, shoes, accesories and the great deals they always have. The store is always clean and well organized, it is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. The sales associates are very patient, helpful, and all around provide exemplary customer service especially the ones who work the pickup/return counter. I have no complaints other than a few times my online merchandise was either missing in action or I received something different than what I ordered but that is rare and would mainly fall on whoever packs the products/ships them. 30 minutes Policy to cancel your online order!! It is ridiculous that I have 30 minutes to cancel my online order and I can't make adjustments. Don't call the customer service number or ask to speak with a supervisor/manager because they won't cancel the order or make adjustments to your order! I am not sure why they have a manger if they can't cancel the order. It doesn't make sense that after 30min you can't cancel online and refers you to call customer service, JCPenney wants you to call so their employees tell you can't cancel or make adjustments. Here I go again thinking of all the facets that surround my rating of JCPenney in Downey... This is long and overdue, but now I write drafts at midnight & all other hours of the night for a sole purpose: to decompress. It helps to organize my brain after instances of chaos with a 15-month-old and fussy moments with a 10-week-old. JCPenney... First, the men's section customer service is great. I have never ever had any issues with them. One gentleman over there in particular is always very helpful in finding certain garments for us. My hubby likes J. Ferrar & Van Heusen shirts. That's pretty much it for Penneys unless there's a unique tie or a nice pair of Dockers. They seem to check out customers faster here than at other registers. Second, I shop here sometimes in the baby section, but mainly in the kitchen section. I found a wonderful "Waring Pro" double flip waffle maker at the end of April of this year... I love it & recommend it. It's now on sale for $99.99. Original price was $130. But when I bought it, it was on sale for a little over $20. Both the baby clothes & the home items are downstairs. An elevator is located towards the back of the store if you have a stroller, etc. I do NOT ever get great service downstairs. Period. Not even gonna go there... Third, the portrait studio is down there too... My husband bought a Groupon deal for the portrait center. I can't remember the details of the deal, but the sitting fees ended up being free. We purchased $148.78 worth of pictures which included a fabulous large wood frame with a black & white picture of our baby girl. Tax came out to $13.39. The April 2014 pictures were mainly of our first-born daughter. But we got a few family shots in. Our daughter's pictures turned out great. She had me and her dad in the background so she smiled and posed cute, though. Our family portraits... MEH. If you make an appointment, get there like 15 minutes beforehand so you can freshen up & be ready before the previous appointment ends. Our mistake was that we fought with our then 9-month-old to put her stupid bow on in their tiny, dirty dressing room... What we should have done was just follow the female photographer into the fish tank of a studio room when she said to let her know when we were ready. Little did we know that she counted the time we were freshening up as part of our studio minutes. Also, we didn't really have a plan as to what poses we wanted for our photos. The photographer wasn't really all that helpful and didn't really say anything at all while she was taking pictures, so I should have taken charge of the situation as I usually do. Professional photos are super expensive as it is. I'm not sure that I could suggest this studio or any Penney studio unless you're fine with just regular run-of-the-mill photos. I don't like this new setup when checking out. Typically you can go to a section of the department and the staff assigned their are helpful and when checking out they know the exact item history and which are on sale and resolve quickly. Now you go to ONE main counter checke out where no one knows everything. Simply clueless. Your left to toss out the item and buy it somewhere else. One big long line with not enough cashiers. Three hours later I am still using acetone to try to rub off the hair color that she let sit on my hairline, face and neck. I am embarrassed to put my hair up because the back of my neck has so much hair dye on it. Also, the color I selected which was supposed to be dark brown turned red at the roots. Lastly, I specifically told her the reason for my visit was to cover the greys...and yet I see greys. I will never return. I will never recommend the salon. Also I purchased a box spring but was told upon delivery that no box spring was indicated. The worst thing is a slash in the mattress. Since I was ill I wasn't able to use the mattress for 3 weeks.
