We went into JCPenney to return an item that was bought online. Exchange was perfect. Also purchased some men's jeans. I'd like to give kudos to the whole staff! In particular, Ernesto is a Jem. He helped me tremendously on the floor, finding jeans going to the back to look and etc. he constantly worked his station, straightening things out and always with a smile on his face. at checkout, Lucia was very helpful and helped me save some money, she basically went the extra mile. Rosalie, the manager was also there to ensure that everything went smoothly. I like that she runs a tight ship, but all the employees were happy and having a good time helping the customers. The reason why I mentioned this so much is customer service seems like it is a thing of the past. But this store certainly knows how to bring customer service first to help their patrons. I got an email about an online sale and bought something that was too good of a deal to pass up. Rather than pay for shipping, I had them ship it to this Coronado Center store for free. They did so - sending me prompt and detailed updates and notifying me when it arrived. I arrived at opening to pick up my item and a friendly and efficient staffer got it for me in a twinkle. It was exactly as ordered and turned out to be a great deal as I'd hoped. I ran it out to the car but then returned to the store because I'd seen some sale items on display that looked promising. Selection wasn't ideal but the prices sure were, and I found something to my liking. (Dressing room for the try-on was fine but could have been a lot nicer.) Payment was fast and efficient with another friendly and efficient staffer. I'm going to keep an eye out for those sale emails . . . read more

We had always bought our jewelry from here, but I never will again. In February we sent off a ring for repair and were told it would take 4-6 weeks. In March someone called me saying they had the wrong information about our ring and it hadn't even left the store yet. I gave them the receipt details care plan details over the phone and they said another 4-6 weeks. In April I hadn't heard back so I called and they said said the same thing as last time, they had the wrong information and it hadn't left yet, and had no idea they called me a month earlier. Finally Kristina (a manager maybe) assured me it would be done right this time and after another 4-6 weeks they'd overnight it back. She sent me the repair details saying it would be completed on the 22nd of May. By the 26th I still haven't heard anything and go to the store to ask. Nobody could help, they couldn't look up the ring and tell me if it had even left the repair center yet. They said since it had been a holiday that it was probably delayed. Another manager promised to call the next day to check in and never did, and Kristina promised to send an email and let me know but never did. Finally on June 1st I show up to the store again and am told that it showed up last Wednesday. Why didn't they call? Because they couldn't read my phone number on their own receipt they printed and probably called the wrong number, the lady explained. Not only can they not do it right the first time, but give them 5 or 6 tries and an extra couple months and maybe they can get it right. No offer to make it right or credit or apologies or anything solidified that I won't go back. read more

This location is a well stocked and organized store. I love that I can find easily the brands I love like Levi's, Liz Claiborne and Arizona. I also can find jewelry, home goods and decor, bedding and window treatments. They also have a Sephora store, an optometrist, photography and a salon. It really is a one stop shop for the entire family! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. JCP has wonderful rewards for shopping there. Discounts available for JCP card holders and The staff is always so helpful there. This is my favorite JCP location! read more

Do not waste your time or money. I paid 60 bucks for a jacked up hair cut that's to short & uneven. No style what so ever. Looks like a box. I tried so many ways to comb, curl and strenthen it. Is a shitty cut. I am just wearing a baseball cap. My master haircutter was in a rush to get you in and out the door because she leaving to maine. Only good thing done was a eyebrow wax. Thats it. I will never return to this salon. My advise "run away and dont look back. Dont even think they deserve a one star. read more

Didn't get any help on the floor, which seems to be standard in retail during Christmas at clothing shops these days. This is a mail order review. Items shipped quickly, but separately. One of the orders was for an easy spirit sneaker. (I have been wearing this style for 4 yrs) The shoes arrived (I ordered my size 7-1/2) when I slipped them on they were marked 7-1/2 but were clearly not a 7-1/2 probably an 8-1/2. These were clearly not an authentic Easy Spirit shoe. When I called to exchange I was politely told they don't exchange but would refund my money and order a new pair. AND that I would have to pay the cost of the return, which cost me $8.66. And it was not even my error. This is so wrong (There are no stores anywhere close to my home, so in store return was not an option) I will never order from JC Penny again, was this a black market item? so sad to chase customers away with poor customer service and merchandise. read more

It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a customer service rep on the phone for JCP. I had to go to "checking on an order" to be able to speak to anyone because regular customer service is not an option. I needed to update my address and I needed to reset my password because I got locked out. I asked if he could stay on the phone with me while I reset my password after he sent it to my email and he flatly refused. He then hung up on me. I really love JCP sales and stores but, come on, we need to speak to customer service reps once in a while and that option is not available!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It does make me rethink if I want to have a JCP credit card and go to their stores if they don't care enough to give us customer service by phone. read more

This review is for the JC Penney Salon. My hair was very dry and damaged with the wind, sun, and dry NM weather. I went in the salon without an appointment and they signed me up with Twila -- she is fantastic, gorgeous, energetic, fun, and knows her stuff. Twila agreed I needed a deep hair conditioning treatment and understood my concerns about wavy/curly damaged hair. She helped me style my hair and had me out the door in about 30-45 minutes with gorgeous, shiny, healthy curls. Thank you Twila! JC Penney salons are a good deal. read more

My friend and I went to the store in Uptown to buy new sneakers. We were both very impressed with the customer service that we experienced throughout the entire store. In both departments, men and women's shoes, we were greeted taken care of and my friend has his shoes in minutes! My shoes had to be ordered, and the next week my shoes came in. I went down to the customer service area by the optical department and the lady who was there was extremely pleasant, professional and quick to retrieve my order! It is refreshing to go into a store where the employees actually seem happy to be there!!! read more

I really like a certain sweater that only Jcpennys carries, I received one for Christmas however i already had one that was the same color, no problem ill just swap it for a different color. Upon arriving to the store, i was told that i cant do an exact swap (mind you i still had the tags on it) being I didnt have a receipt, all they could offer was a store credit of the lowest price in 45 days (7.95) for a 40.00 sweater. I can understand if i was ask8ng for a cash refund, but a straight swap? Ridiculous, no wonder these stores are going out of business. You lost another customer good job. read more

I have always love this store. Years ago when I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery and needed to find a dress for my daughter's wedding, the sales associate took time out to help me get in and out of the dresses I was trying on and bring me different sizes. At Christmas it is a little dis-organized and sometimes messy, but that is because shoppers are not cleaning up after themselves and the associates are struggling to keep up. I have always been greeted and asked if I need assistance and if I do, they are helpful, courteous and kind. Quality merchandise at a good price. Overall, my go to place for clothes for my grandkids. read more

JC Penny's... what happened. I use to love this department store, but you can understand why these giant aging anchor stores are a dying beast. Lines forever on the weekends, poorly organized clothing, too crowded isles and displays. An absolute nightmare to navigate with a stroller. No associate anywhere to be seen to ask for help with sizing or information. Instead of trying to become the cheapest option with dated styles and poor quality maybe try to offer the best of something at a fair price with good service. I know our local store can't change without corporate restructuring, but I won't be coming back to Penny's. It's just not worth it. read more

I first went to the JCPenny Salon because my hair was pink, and I had just gotten a job that didn't accept that hair color. I got in right away, with the stylist Lee. He was very kind, and helped me choose which hair color would look best with my skin tone (and was work appropriate). He was through, and did a great job! I kept my hair that color for several months, and it only faded a tiny bit. He is definitely the stylist to go to if you're looking for a new hair color. read more

Every time I've entered the store to shop, the merchandise is immaculately presented. I for one, am glad they switched back to clothing that's stylish and affordable. The sales associates greet you as you walk past the cash wraps located at entrances When finalizing purchases the associates are very friendly and quick to finish things up. BUYER BEWARE. Poor service from the J C Penney Home Store on Menaul - the salesperson in the store promised our furniture would be delivered, fully assembled, and cartons or packing materials would be carted away. Instead, they apparently sub-contract their furniture delivery to another company. The delivery guys did not call to arrange a time - they just showed up early one morning. They refused to take the furniture upstairs and said they did not assemble new items as the store had promised. BAD NEWS! I called the store and they apologized - however, I've called 5-6 times and no still resolution has been reached. I guess we made a mistake shopping at J C Penney. Totally disappointed. read more

JCPenney is my "Go-To," store, but I can not physically endure the temperature in my local Coronado Mall in Albuquerque, NM. There is a marked difference between the store and larger mall hallway. As a heart patient, I can not visit the store until the temperature is set to a comfortable setting or winter arrives. read more

My mother and I decided to pamper ourselves while I was in town and go get our hair done together. I started my appointment with light brown hair. I asked for a Balayage and was told a master colorist would help me achieve that. The stylist came back with 3 bowls of color and began to foil my whole head. After the 2nd foil was in I was confused and asked her why she wasn't painting my hair. She told me hair painting was a gimmick and that she has been doing it this way for years. I didn't want to stray from my natural color and wanted to lighten the hair around my face as well as the tips for a sun kissed look. She assured me that she was just bringing out my natural color as well as making the requested areas lighter. Fast forward to the end of my appointment.... I have a full head of white highlights and the rest of my brown hair is ORANGE! After 4 hours wasted and $236 later I am pissed to say the least. Thank god my hair salon back in California is going to help me repair my hair. read more

I could tell right away she had plenty of experience because she explained what she was going to do and why.
